Lost 5 games by playing increasingly bad; I get angry. Then won 5 games by playing even shittier, and now I'm fuming.

As a new player I enjoyed playing hunter a fair bit, because it it countered "big decks" extremely well, it got fairly tiresome to try and beat decks filled with big legendaries with boulderfist ogre or force-tank. It is not my favorite class by any means, but it was a nice option to have.

Also I'm sure that in the endgame meta the considerations posed are genuine, but the majority of the community whinage has another reason: The endgame is always easier than the startgame, because the startgame has more variables and more unknowns, so the endgame always feels more comfortable. And to add to the difficulty hunter can punish early game mistakes and poor mulligan choices harshly, this combination is what causes a lot of the struggle.

A mechanic to counter that is already in the game and is called healing, which counters mana to inflict direct face damage by using mana to directly increase health.

Becoming a "heavier" card strategy game sort of makes HS moot, so I agree. There are other games that do that better; HS appeal lies in the simplicity that attrat casual gamers, but still retaining enough strategy to make good winrates possible. But at the end of the day there is enough randomness to ensure that a loss is never certain.

It is similar to simple poker variants with high variance curves, where good players can keep bad players in the game without them ever knowing they are bad players,
