If you're looking to make a control deck, go with Tirion Fordring and Sylvanas Windrunner. Those are the only two cards you need to craft. And throw in Kel'Thuzad if you like.a
@Xelhes The Deathrattle Priest has the easiest learning curve, quick to grind, and still has a chance of reaching legend. I'd replace the Cabal with a 2nd Shadow Word: Death. Other good cards to run as substitutes: Silence, 2nd Shadow Madness, Thoughtsteal, 2nd Holy Nova, Holy Fire.
First one is Control, best Priest deck out there if you know how to play it. Second one, Deathrattle Priest, look up Zetalot's build for cheaper versions. Easy learning curve. Third one, 9/4 Priest. Fun deck, not reasonable past Rank 2.
that's a lot of inconsistency in the rank 5-15 range. best advice i got was to pick 1-2 deck types at the beginning of the season and stick to them. focus on adjusting to the meta as you rank, swapping a card or two here or there but not flipping decks. you'll learn to play the deck well against all classes and you'll need that after rank 5. i've only made it to rank 4, but hope this helps and good luck!
Haha, thanks for the advice. It'a actually because it all happened before the ladder reset. I was actually just asking if you ever take a break from Hearthstone.
2) Track your games with and keep track of how you play against other decks. This way you won't be discouraged when you lose to priest for the fifth time out of six games because you aren't supposed to win...it is just a bad matchup.
3) Immediately squelch whomever you are playing against and don't accept friends requests while you are driving for Legend. Basically avoid anything that could possibly derail your desire/attitude during the grind.
Actually, when I started playing handlock during my climb, I would friend everybody with legend backs, and then ask how they felt about my plays. All the ones who friended were very friendly, and helped me with my plays. So, I don't squelch or reject friend requests. I feel like Hearthstone is meant to be a social game. And I love talking to my fellow opponents, in-game or after-game.
I've been tracking my Handlock record since I started at the beginning of the month. And surprisingly, I have a higher win-rate against Hunter than I do with Priest (I've only counted games with opponents with Legend card backs). I think it hurts the most having a 55% win-rate against Shaman-bots. Not shamans, but shaman-sea-giant motherf-ing bots. I think that's what really got to me, and partly why I just stopped playing for a week. I really wanted to play Handlock for the first time ever, and I kept being completely rekt by bots. But now I know what I was doing wrong, and they're no problem for me.
If those players had the Legend card back then they had already made Legend rank. I am advising people on how to get their for the first time and burn out/frustration derails many players.
Haha, that's still me :) I faced a lot of those players at the beginning of the season before I rage quit, as I said in my OP.

So at the beginning of the month, I played ladder regularly. And I went from Rank 16 to Rank 9 to Rank 14 to Rank 7 to Rank 13 to Rank 12 to Rank 16 to Rank 10 to Rank 12. And finally, I was so salty from not being able to rank past the double digits, I quit. I knew it's because the ladder hadn't reset yet, but I thought I could keep up even though I hadn't reached legend ever. So it's been a week, and as I'm watching Seat Story Cup, I decided I want to try my hand at the game while I watch. I went from Rank 12 to Rank 4 using Handlock and Druid.
What do you do after a long losing streak, or ever feel super salty/super sucky at the game? What are your biggest frustrations you face when climbing? If you take a break from Hearthstone, how long does it usually last? The longest I've gone w/o it entirely is a week (I include when I watch it on Twitch). I know, not that long, but still.

Play decks you understand. That's all you need to know.

I agree with dwl_ Shadow Word D is the best card you can ask for when dealing with any sort of threat. I always run 2 in my deck. Always.

Number 1 Card: Moonfire Best card in the game.

I think the most consistent deck against any class is Druid.

I actually think it's not the worst opening hand, you have a wild growth for turn 2. You can't go wrong with wild growth.
