Decided to try galakrond secret rogue. Won 7 on the bounce then lost 3. Lost to casino mage, hunter boar extravaganza and embiggen druid.

The match vs the mage was almost won but solarian prime was played, which then proceeded to cast 3 secrets, a fireball to 1 of my minions and puzzle box. The puzzle box proceeded to aoe my entire board (I had 6 minions all 4+ health), casted conjurers calling twice on the mages minions and refilled the mages hand. The hunter and druid simply had perfect draws. I couldn't cycle through my deck and I drew no cc.

Rogue is certainly easy to play - though I've yet to come across any decks which actually require any brain power. Out of all the decks I've played it has way too much utility and can pretty consistently out rng other decks (I've now accepted that RNG is basically what this game is - a giant RNG mess).

To beat rogue you have to draw a perfect game (while the rogue draws trash) or get incredibly lucky. Either way I'm amazed it hasn't been nerfed.

I am surprised that Rogue hasn't had a single nerf. The class has amazing card draw, amazing secrets, amazing utility (i.e. Blackjack!), amazing legendaries, amazing spells and seemingly endless hordes of lackeys (and is criminally faceroll to play).

Then you have Shaman...which, unlike previous expansions, has nothing going for it.

The priest class was apparently reworked recently. What was the objective? To make the class even more simple to play, entirely reliant on reborn and resurrection, and even more boring to play against?

If so, job well done. I dont understand why anyone would want to play the class.

Played a game with my value Galakrond control warrior vs a control priest. Or should I say Cancer priest. He ran Galakrond but had no activators for it. His gameplan was to play Albatross and resurrect it as many times as possible. I kid you not that he shuffled 15-20 fucking bird in my deck. Thankful for me I managed to beat him with fatigue in the end since he had no real pressure and I could handle his stupid mass resurrections and shit with super value with Scion of Ruin and Dragon Breeder and Barista Lynchen.

But holy fuck what a boring cancerous fucking game. Drawing 20 albatrosses is NOT fun. I cant imagine he was having any fun draggin the game out to 30 minutes. He must´ve just get enjoyment out of ruining the game for me and wasting my time.

Stop playing these cancerous fucking decks. Its not fun for anyone and its not even very good..

I have played against that deck 4 times today. Won 3 but conceded the fourth. It's so mind numbingly boring to play against - it's a terrible deck clearly relying on people to concede through sheer boredom.

This is hands down one of the most boring decks I have ever encountered. It is painfully slow to play against and entirely predictable.

You have to be into some weird stuff if you get a thrill out of playing this nonsense.

I played a few matches over the weekend primarily as control (various classes). Every single match was dictated by RNG effects.

Whether it be Galakrond (Warlock), Dragonqueen Alexstraza or Nethrandamus the swings these cards can bring just seems totally disproportionate.

For example, you survive the initial onslaught of everything the Demon Hunter kit possesses but you finally have the board and 15 health. No worries, they drop Nethradamus, have lethal and its game over (unless you are lucky enough to still have a board clear!). Then again they might just follow it up with double priestess of fury (that's happened twice).

Or spell Mage where it is essentially a meme deck 100% dictated by RNG. Sometimes they steam roll you and sometimes they dont. Either way it's not a very interesting matchup.

My personal favourite has been mirror control warlock where matches have been decided on who rolls best on Galakrond. I have also had priests steal Galakrond and roll 4 10mana demons (just to really reitterate my point).

It's frustrating that you can outplay someone only for the game to hand your opponent the win with a 'randomly based effect'. Whatever Blizzard is doing with their algorithms you either get the magical effect or you dont. It's never half way.

posted a message on Where is the creativity?

    Heres some quick thoughts.

There is no creativity in this game. When Blizzard releases an expansion they have play tested everything. This means they have a pretty good idea of what will be strong and what will suck. Sometimes they get it wrong and hand out nerfs (and even buffs on the rare occassion). Demon Hunter being the most recent example.

As a community all we do is work out what blizzard already knows. We 'create' decks based on the limitations put on us by Blizzard. An example would be stealth/secret rogue. Give it time and the community will work out the optimum 30 cards for this archetype. Then it will get played and blizzard will monitor how it performs. If it is stronger than expected then Blizzard will nerf it. This process happens every single expansion. Nothing is by coincidence. No one ever creates a truly unique deck. It has already been created and play tested by Blizzard before release.

Another observation is that as time goes by, tier 1 decks are becoming more and more expensive to construct (a general rule of thumb). This isnt an accident. It's a free to play game and Blizzard needs to make money.

Took a break since the beginning of the year. Played 14 matches over the weekend. Same old 50% win rate. I win comfortably or get steamrolled. None of the games were determined by skill. One player gets spoon fed on curve while the other languishes behind.

Sometimes you need to take a step back from something to truly appreciate it for what it is. Having played hearthstone since beta I was committed to my account. But after my relatively short hiatus I am now most definitely of the opinion that this game is utter garbage. The game is quite simply predictable, boring and hasn’t evolved in years.

Even with the introduction of a new hero and the priest class getting a rework, the game will still follow the same expansion template. New cards will be released, netdecks will be updated, the most powerful decks will be overplayed by everyone for 3 months solid. The next expansion will be released, netdecks updated, so on and so forth.

So if you find yourself not enjoying the game, take a break, and then give it another go. Who knows you might enjoy it again! But like many others I am now walking away.

Lol, nice advice: if you're unhappy with Hearthstone, take a break, come back after a while out of curiosity, take a break again, then come back again and so on. And you know what the irony is? You still haven't convinced your ego that Hearthstone isn't the game for you.

But hey, Blizzard doesn't mind if you do this as long as their source of income isn't in any danger.

Plays control mage - 5x gala rogue in a row.

Switches to pirate warrior to see if I get a different matchup - 4 x control priest a row.

Switches back to control mage - 4 x gala rogue.

    Coincidence?

Almost all decks being played at the moment are aggro. This makes sense as the majority of these decks can win a match by turn 6 or 7 with the player literally playing whatever they have in their hand. I have tried to counter these with control decks but even then if they have a good starting hand it’s no contest.

The problem with the current batch of aggro decks is that they have so many options. You can slow them down to a degree but they will rapidly wear you down unless you have great card draw. Face hunter for example has its side quest and minions that damage when they die (I call this autoplay damage). But they also have a variety of supporting minions and spells to get the job done even if they don’t draw the autoplay damage.

The game favours these decks at the moment because silence isn’t really a thing and is usually too expensive (as is most AOE). This in turn favours new players to the game since these decks are also often the cheapest to assemble. I have finally tried face hunter and there is nothing to it. You just throw everything onto the board and if you have a mirror matchup it’s a coin toss. Games last a few minutes which therefore means less time grinding up the ladder. Great! But it is just so mundane and brainless.

Unfortunately the game has almost always been like this and it’s never going to change.

Having played another batch of matches over the last few days I can conclude that there are no longer any significant decisions to be made when playing this game.

In the past you had to really think about when you should use that brawl, or sheep or big game hunter. It was more often than not game deciding. Nowadays there are so many options when it comes to board clears, large minion removal etc that it doesn’t matter. And even if you do use a board clear, for example, there are loads of decks which can effectively fill the board within 1 or 2 turns. So it had no real impact.

There are also no decks that I’ve played which really require any thought. Highlander, quests, sub quests, handlock, control, tempo, they all pretty much play themselves. I either win comfortably or get steamrolled. I reckon you could probably just play the left most cards every turn in certain decks and still get a 50% win rate (I.e. face hunter).

The game just feels dumbed down. And whilst there are plenty classes and decks being played, they all feel very much the same. Its starting to feel like classic wow vs retail wow but in hearthstone.

Over the course of 4 days I have played 11 matches. Every single match vs Hunter despite changing class. If I played tempo, I was matched against aggro. If I played control I was matched against tempo (I don’t play aggro decks).

Matchmaking is fixed. There is no doubt in my mind. It happens too often to too many people to be a mere coincidence.

Played 5 matches in a row against the same priest control quest deck.

Although the priest decks play themselves (you're kidding yourself if you think there are any decisions to be made) it still doesn't stop the matches taking around 30minutes minimum. From now on I will just auto concede against priest. The matches are predictable, very long and extremely boring for those reasons.

My experience of the expansion so far has been overwhelmingly poor. There are some fun cards to be played, but due to day 1 netdecking you are extremely lucky to play anything which hasn't been posted on the forum of this website or others (which isn't entirely the games fault though it does allow you to import netdecks!).

Matches are also either over by turn 8 or last well over 30 minutes (which is far too long for a really basic card game). Its clear in my mind that the developers still don't know what they want this card game to be.
