posted a message on Miracle crafting question...

Edwin is one of the most important cards in Miracle, and can be a win condition on his own. You only need one spell played to be a 4/4 for 3 mana, which is obviously very easy, and something I've found to be huge in midrange and aggro matchups so you can gain tempo to compete for the board until your auctioneer turn. You can also use him to just yolo the heck out of a turn and throw down a 10/10 on an empty board, conceal, and just win the game. So with regards to matchups, he is important against virtually all match ups, and is flexible based on how you need to use him. The options are really limitless, not using him would be a big hit to the deck. Not to mention he is also classic set and will probably always be a strong Rogue card, thus will probably see play in Rogue decks for metas to come. In fact, with bgh owl nerfs, I would say he is almost on par with Grom and Tirion for best class legendaries. You will not regret crafting him for one minute.

    tl;dr 100% craft him

edit: With regards to Xaril- don't bother if you're tight on dust. Good card and has high potential, but Tomb Pillager is fine, and sometimes better.

With response to the array of priest and hunter comments: I would say Priest and Hunter have only 1 deck that are viable each- N'Zoth and Midrange respectively (though you could argue Dragon Priest as more viable in a more aggressive meta)- but each are stronger than the array of crappy Druid decks. Yeah there are several types of druid decks floating around, like beast, c'thun, and ramp, but they are all pretty weak, being really dependent on draw and curving out because they don't have any comeback mechanics hardly, lacking good removal, board clear and draw. Their only hope is to drop a taunt as anything and hope for the best for the majority of archetypes. Beast druid you have to have an aggressive curve and finish off with savage roar early, or you will just get overrun. And these decks are all basically worse versions of other decks, so there isn't much reason to play them.

posted a message on Demon Hunter Class - Looking for Feedback!

Very cool ideas overall! I especially like the stealing card mechanic, as those seem very strong. While I know that they are not quite balanced yet, the hatred interaction seems reaaaally slow, and while it gives good value and is an awesome idea, it may not work because of the amount of times you have to use your hero power to make them useful. You may be dead before you get value, and if you don't die soon enough, you will get obnoxious amounts of value, which may seem a little unfair to slower decks. It seems similar to inspire. Inspire was a slow mechanic, and few of the cards are used because they are so slow, and constructed values cards with instant effects. But they can't make the inspire cards too strong or they would be absolutely nuts and feel unfair, as keeping one up just one turn could just win the game. This mechanic seems to present a similar balance problem. So you may need to find some way to balance the hero power with that in mind! :)

posted a message on Which packs should I focus on buying (with gold)

Classic will almost always give you the best value, as it has the most cards which are generally considered "staples" to decks as well as the most versatile cards, including cards like Grom, Rag, Druid of the Claw, Azure Drake, etc. etc. For the most part, buy classic packs, and then fill in the other set cards when you need them with dust. Once you get a lot of the common and rares from the set, you can look to start grabbing some of the other packs!

You can also occasionally buy one of the other packs just to try to get some of the solid cards from those packs if you're feeling it! But wait til after you find a legendary, or it will reset the pity timer! If you don't know what that is, you can read about it here https://www.reddit.com/r/hearthstone/comments/3z7jyh/pity_timer_on_packs_opening_and_the_best_strategy/  :)

Battlecry: Transform your Hero into its Metamorphosis Form. Increased base Hp and new hero power

Bam, love it. New favorite. Metamorphosis form would be SICK, perfect with the character, and would be good for keeping aggressive metas in check.

Agreed that hunter is underrated, albeit a boring class, but i think it may be doomed to always be a boring aggro to midrange class because of his aggressive hero power looking to end games early.... unless they release some pretty interesting mechanics. Prove me wrong Blizzard! ... Poor priest has never really been that strong in the meta. lol.

I think a Jaraxxus effect would be interesting, and could be cool... but having him as a neutral minion with a Jaraxxus effect that strong could be scary, as it would give a lot of control classes access to a VERY strong anti control tool. and idk if it fit in with his lore character, as he doesn't really kill anybody major in the lore like Jaraxxus was known for killing Wilfred. But idk if that matters that much lol.

Equipping his weapons would make sense, and would be an awesome deathrattle, and maybe a card that could compete with Sylvanas in the 6 mana slot!

I agree that he is definitely iconic enough to be a hero, though other iconic characters (hello Kael'thas) will probably be limited to cards as well. I'd say he probably will be a hero some day, though it's awkward with him already having a card. It is actually possible now that standard is a thing, and they wouldn't have to create a ton of cards for the class to make up for the missed expansions. And adding the demon hunter class to the game would be awesome, take my money Blizzard.

From what I've seen, I think beast druid is above average, but a tad too inconsistent. If you're going to play an aggro deck, might as well play THE aggro deck (hello Thrall).

Midrange hunter does suffer against aggro, but can beat them with a good curve, and is really solid vs control. It is similar to the midrange hunter of old- not overpowering, but has the ability to be competitive in about any matchup with good draw. Though I agree hunter is one of the weaker classes (weakest?)

Priest has some issues, but N'Zoth priest is actually really solid. It has the ability to control all but the strongest aggro starts, and has the ability to outlast pretty much every control deck, with a very strong match up vs. Paladin. ............ but it is completely held in check by the power of Miracle Rogue. That match up is nearly insta-lose. Borderline freeze mage vs control warrior. lol.

Guys I love everything about Illidan Stormrage. He's an iconic Warcraft character and is just straight cool. Two Blades? SICK. Half-Demon Half-elf? AWESOME. Snapback and Tattoos? WOW! Hates malfurian? SO DOES BLIZZARD! (kappa)

.... but his card is garbage. lol. A 7/5 for six mana and an average effect is just that- average. If summoning a ton of 2/1s is not good in this miracle rogue hyper cycle play every card in my deck in one turn meta, it will probably never be played, which is a shame. I personally think, because he is such an iconic character, they should rework him a little bit to make him at least playable, and maybe have a flavor more consistent with his character. So with that in mind.....

tl;dr If you were going to rework Illidan to make him not terrible, what would you do??

So far, who do you think has been the weakest class post rotation?

For me, I have to say druid- and no surprise. After they nerfed nearly every strong Druid card, they really don't have the ability to deal with a lot of the top tier decks as they lack good card draw (nourish is sloooooow), AOE, or anti-aggro tools. They also struggle against control decks as they just don't generate enough value. But HEY maybe someone will find a killer druid deck and prove me wrong who knows?! What do you think?

    Edwin > Thalnos > Leeroy > Xaril

Edwin can just straight win you game. And you really need Thalnos tbh. I would have lost a lot of games without him. Leeroy can be replaced with Southsea Deckhand+faceless. I actually like that version better. Full Combo damage is more, and you can use each as a flex if things come to that point (ex- faceless Tirion or deckhand to clear an aggro minion). And Xaril isn't that necessary. Play Tomb Pillager- just as good.

I agree with everything here except Xaril over Leeroy, I run 2x Tomb Pillage and Xaril in my decks, and he just provides some nice answers.  His version of shadowstep has won me the game after paladin played humility on Edwin, the little ping to kill something hiding behind a taunt, card draw.  Another nice thing about the southsea, if you double cold blood + faceless you get the same amount of damage and still have 2 mana left over for a sap, evicerate, or sometimes you just need to equip a weapon if u used it the turn before clearing the way.  Sure, its 1 more combo piece and 4 is tough for most decks, but by turn 10-12 you are usually down to the final 2-3 cards of your deck anyways.
Agreed on the deckhand, I haven't ever had issues finding combo pieces for it. In fact, I think this makes it less combo reliant, as you can adjust the way you win the game even more from 1 Leeroy combo to 1 southsea, southsea+faceless, cold blood faceless conceal, etc.  Finding damage is usually not an issue. ...But ultimately it depends on your preference!

Okay, awesome, thanks for the input everyone! with all this in mind, what do you think is a better high end card in the deck- Varian Wrynn or Arch Theif Rafaam? I have seen both in deck lists and both seem pretty solid, though I think Rafamm seems a bit more consistent. What do you guys favor?

posted a message on Xaril worth crafting?

So I was thinking about crafting Xaril, but he really doesn't seem like that much, if any, of an improvement over tomb Pillager, and I play a more spell heavy Miracle Rogue anyway. So I usually value the coin and body more.

that being said I haven't played with Xaril, and it's hard to say if you haven't used him. Not to mention if he's good, I may adjust my deck accordingly to accommodate him. So Miracle players, how useful is he really? Do you think he is any better than Tomb Pillager or another replacement?
