GetchX posted a message on Celebrate the Lunar New Year - New Bundle, Free Card, QuestsPosted in: NewsBlizzard is getting greedy in every game try to put new microtransaction to squeeze more money from customers.
Blizzard gives away a free golden card, new quests that give more gold and dust, and a huge discount on buying cards that is entirely optional....
....yet Blizzard is "getting greedy".

iandakar posted a message on Please discuss - Target gold @ rotation for F2P?Posted in: General DiscussionNow that I'm seeing so many people recommending to save what I think are exuberant amounts of gold, is it that everybody has what they 'need' from every expansion already? I've been playing for a year and I still find myself buying packs from older expansions, especially since most of the strongest decks are heavily influenced by year of the mammoth cards. How do you just stop buying packs?
Oh yeah, we're all in 'established F2Per' mode. This is your ultimate goal: when you can focus on the new expansions rather than the old ones. We're proof that a stable F2P life is viable. The hard part is GETTING there. A few things that can help.
1. The rotation. In April, all of the Year of the Mammoth cards are rotating into Wild. Thus if you are willing to not have all of those high powered cards right now then that's a year's worth of cards you can ignore for afew months.
2. You don't need EVERYTHING. People mocked when Blizzard said 'you only need 30 cards', but the concept is viable. You aren't playing in a tournament with 4 top tier full decks in hand. You just need 'enough' to get by. Thus the focus should be having enough to be able to complete your quests, then have a deck or two that you're happy enough to play with. You save a lot of crafting/opening when you have that Odd Rogue deck you love and don't have to also craft ALL FOUR hunter decks, AND Control Warlock AND Odd Warrior AND OTK Paladin AND....
Just let yourself NOT have every deck that's powerful right now, so you can focus more on what's comming instead of what's going away.
3. Stop opening packs for Epics/Legendaries.
Yes it's hared to say "stop opening packs" when you don't have any commons and rares. However, once you're realizing that you are mostly looking for epics and legendaries, that's when you stop. Unless you're a whale, opening 20-40 packs just for a random legendary is NOT a good trade. A LOT of epics are bad, so the chances of getting 2 of the ones you want are also a gamble. So don't gamble.
Once you have the commons and rares you want from a set, you're done with that set. If it's been a while since your last legendary, open a few more to collect it, do the same for the next epic, then don't open any more. If you need an epic or legenary from that set, you'll want to craft it.
4. Stop mass dusting!!
This is a big one. You're collection drops to 1/4th it's worth when you're dusting it down to make That Deck you Want. Then if you have to craft the cards again you're doing 4 times as much work to catch up.
Focus on decks that you have most of hte cards for. Be careful of where you use your dust, and really REALLY double and triple think before you dust a card that's not a duplicate.
lastly 5. When you can, learn the arena. Lots of folks are talkinga bout the arena because, once you can use it, it IS the best tool for F2Pers. Running arena is better than opening packs. But you need to be able to do well enough in it first as it's a money sink until then.
It's NOT easy, which is why we keep fussing Blizzard to make it easier for newer players. But the faster you can get from opening older packs to saving for newer packs, the more comfortable you'll be eventually. Again, the tricky part is how to make the transition.

Thonson posted a message on Dean Ayala’s IGN interview on Hunter & Recent Nerfs - DiscussPosted in: General DiscussionIt seems like for most people the issue here is how Barnes is used in Big Priest. So as I've stated on these topics before, if Barnes is to be nerfed he should summon a 1/1 "Actor" token and grants the Actor the card text of a minion in your deck. Barnes's text could read something like:
"Battlecry: Summon a 1/1
Actor and give it the
Effect of a minion
in your deck."
So it's basically the same idea BUT it actually falls more in line with the flavor of the card since you are summoning an Actor that is "playing the role of [Insert Minion Here]". AND when used in Big Priest, it weakens your resurrection pool because the Actor would be come back as a simple 1/1 with no text, since the text (or "role") the Actor token is given comes from Barnes's battlecry.
You'd still have issues like Spell Hunter using Barnes into 1/1 Actor "Y'shaarj" into actual Y'shaarj. But again, if the main concern is Big Priest, my suggestion would help lower the power level of that deck while also enhancing the card's overall flavor. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

Isn't it about time we had a spell taunt or a "take no damage from spells on your opponents turn" minion or something with that flavour. I would try and make the card myself and submit it to you guys but don't even know how to lol.
Mages get ice block which is the closest thing I guess but not the same as what I mean. The answer cant be a secret or a spell because only 3 classes have secrets and neutral spells don't exist.
I do know I am sick of loosing games from a winning position because spells. Obviously Mage is the worst offender but pretty much all classes can pull this off and they are they're chuckling away as your definite win turns into a loss.
Why is this not a mechanic already? if there is a real reason someone please explain because it feels real bad loosing this way.
