I play only wild .. also got legend using reno priest.
I can explain you well why dr boom is not op like in the past.
Boom is the perfect card for midrange, too slow for aggro, who dont want to keep a dead card in hand for 7 turns and also bad for control as it doesn't give the value of other cards.
The problem is that midrange is not effective in wild as aggro can destroy it fast and it 's hard to go into lategame against control decks that plays reno , nzoth, kazakus ecc........as they can easily heals too.
But according to VS wild data reaper Mid range Paladin (with recruit synergy) is arguably the strongest deck in wild.
It does pretty well vs Reno priest.
Synergy seems to be the main reason Dr Boom doesn't make the cut.
Might not be good enough for constructed. As competiting with Vilespine Slayer and SI:7 Agent for deck slots. Have to wait and see though as having any creature that sticks to board suddenly gain poisonous makes a rogue's board a lot more threatening.
Of those classes. Only priest (silence priest) plays Faceless Shambler.
Ooze fits into more decks. However the expansion is close. Save your dust - in 4 weeks you are going to want 800 dust and more to craft all the shiny new cards.
Warlock zoo is probably the only deck where playing this card might be possible. As it can survive on turn 2 by playing 2 1 drops or coining out a 3 drop. That said warlock zoo is currently bad - so it would need other good cards to be viable. And those other good cards would have to not be 2 mana cost.
Most likely will not see play after the first 2 weeks of the expansion.... But there is a small chance.
I also agree to wait on investing on new cards till after the expansion releases. For 2 reasons:
The meta is going to change when the new set comes - so some previously good cards/decks will become garbage.
New deck opening rules increase the value of pack generally (No duplicated legends).
If you do want to make a new deck anyway then I would recommend secret mage as it is a teir 1 deck and some versions costs under 2k dust. And 800 of that dust is for 2 copies of primordial glyph - which are not part of the deck's game plan (just a generally strong card) so it can be replaced.
More generally, I suggest if you want to play a different deck before the expansion I suggest building something with the cards you have. Then accept that it is going to be sub par and play it in casual. Casual will match you up with opponents based on your past win record in casual, so if you are consistently playing incomplete decks you should not be matched up against too many high value decks.

I don't think it will see play outside of the first 2 weeks. Too much competition for the 3 drop slot... Frothing beserker and Ghoul.
That said in a vacuum it isn't bad. Just can't think of a deck that would use it.
Edit: Maybe anti mage tech card

Voted very good.
Tier 1 in Arena.

The biggest question is what would you replace it with? There are not a lot of options for paladin 2 drops.

I got tavern brawl quest this week. Win 5 tavern brawls.... So winning games was definitely my goal. I'd imagine a few other people had it too.
