i included Zilliax because he's a very versatile card, can serve as an emrgency taunt, board clear, health boost, even a buff to an annoy o tron from giggling inventor. Zilliax is just one of those cards that can be stuck in just about any deck you know? but clockword automaton is an interesting idea too, i would like to hear how that worked out.

IMO, if druid has a problem, it's not spreading plague, but rather the ridiculously efficient armor gain.

I have a question regarding watermarks. Is it necessary to create your own? Or is it allowed to use one of the stock custom watermarks from hearthcards? And if it is necessary, is it possible to add a created watermark to a hearthcards created card?

    The Year of the Phoenix

The three expansions introduced in the year of the phoenix are each inspired by aspects of the noble bird itself; it's agelessness, The power of rebirth, and it's use as the symbol of the Sin'dorei.

Mysteries of the Caverns of Time

The first expansion of the year takes us deep into the deserts of Tanaris, to the Caverns of Time, a place guarded by the bronze dragonflight, where timelines and alternate realities converge and the rules of linear time are all but meaningless. Delve into different periods of history wth a new card type, the Field spell.

Field spells provide powerful effects for both players, but each player may only have one active at any given time. If they play another, it replaces the previously played one.

Due to the convergence of timelines, expect to see so familiar faces from the past, albeit affected by the warped time. This affect manifests in the form of a new keyword, Displace.

Displace functions similar to Battlecry , with the notable difference that the effect doesn't occur until the beginning of your next turn. In addition to forcing you to plan ahead, The inherit delay involved allows for the reintroduction of cards previously too powerful for standard play.

Here is an example of both new effects:

The Black Morass is a first example of a Field card, sending both players to the opening of the dark portal, where the mage medivh attempted to rip open a path from Azeroth to Draenor, allowing the orcish horde to invade. Both players will have interesting decisions to make as they both try to stem the flow of orcs for their opponent, while building an army of thier own.

The Time-Lost Azure drake sees the return of our old friend, displaced in time.

    The Battle for Lorderon

The second expansion dives us headfirst into war. The noble alliance, lead by High King Anduin Wrynn, battles the cunning Forsaken, lead by the banshee queen Sylvanas for control of the ruins of the kingdom of Lorderon, where the Undead have long made residence. Undead is a new minion tribe, which will be retroactively applied to any undead minions previously introduced.

Winning a war requires great strategy, to that end, a new card type appears, the Strategem.

The strategem is like a secret , except the effect takes place based on your own actions, rather than your opponents, allowing you to put a plan in place, gaining the benefit of your strategem at the most opportune time. These cards will specifically be relegated to Druids, Priests, Shamans, Warlocks and Warriors, the classes who currently have no secrets.

Sylvanas unleashes the full might of her banshee wail, destroying all minions and raising them as her own army.

This first strategem requires planning and an established board to take full benefit of it's potentially devastating effect.

    Glory of Quel'thalas

Our third and final expansion takes us to the homeland of the Sin'dorei, or Blood Elves. Quel'thalas is an ancient land, full of magic and wonder. On the outskirts lay the ghostlands, a forest forever cursed by the scourge. To this east of this is Zul'aman, the home of the mighty Amani trolls. North of this is Eversong Woods, a beautiful land captured in eternal autumn. Further north is the beautiful city of Silvermoon, where lies the seat of Blood Elf power. Finally, to the north of this is the Isle of Quel'thalas, home of the Sunwell, once the source of the Blood Elves power, now corrupted by the actions of the Lich King.

Since this corruption, the Blood Elf people have had to find power elsewhere, or face being withered, both in mind and body. This affliction will come in the form of a new keyword, Mana Thirst.

A card with mana thirst has a powerful, continuous effect, that requires you pay additional mana each turn, else the minion withers up to near uselessness.

The Elves of Quel'thalas are a diverse people, but they are not really known for Druidic or Shamanistic practices. However, as mentioned above, they are not the only people to reside in this land. The Amani trolls are well versed in these arts, calling on the power of the loa, ancient and powerful spirits, for guidance and aid.

The Royal Spellbreaker will serve you well, contantly destroying the effects of your opponent's minions... If you're willing to pay the price, that is.

Invoke the Loa is the first of a new wave of beast synergized druid cards, playing with the theme of the Amani trolls and their loa gods as framework.

    The Hall of Fame

Divine Spirit- A card whose effect has been reused on other cards now, it's time to retire this on and allow new cards to step up and shine.

Gadgetzan Auctioneer- A card that has long been the defining card of many decks, such as the miracle rogue. With this card out of the picture it would allow new sources of card draw to take it's place.

Mountain Giant- A staple in control decks, sending this to the hall of fame will allow more creative freedom with managing the hand.

Thank you for considering the Year of the Phoenix. I have plenty of ideas for each expansion that I would love to share with you, if given the opportunity.
