I think it has charm still but players always gravitate to the OP along with blizzards stance on never changing a card or taking 6 months to reduice a minions HP from 2 to 1 and call that reasonable effort balancing a game is what's killing it for me.
you forgot to nerf totem golem and trog, didn't even mention jade, enjoy your still shaman meta, whats that, you want to experiment with control? netdeck jade druid and change 2 cards #fun and interactive #diversity
the logic is simple, this was an exclusive item that people were given for supporting the game last year, new people saw it this year and complained that they didn't have it so blizzard gave it to them
1 drops are not fun and good ones mostly just fuel aggro they need a rule set for 1 drops no more than 2 attack regardless of any situation except via external cards casting buffs onto them.

redirect execute to an undamaged minion
can't direct shadowbolt to face
can't redirect shadow word death unless there is another 5 drop on board
can't redirect poly unless there is another minion
can't redirect minion attacks or "target enemy" spells to friendly targets making him very difficult to play.
I am keeping him for now if the off chance blizzard see he sucks so bad they buff him, figure he might see some play in hand buff decks but thats by giving him stats he is missing in the first place
he was in the very first pack I opened and my opinion just bad, probably after blizzard saw yog they purposely overcosted and understtated this guy so he would never see tornament play, actually overdid it so much that he isn't even fun or even works in goofy decks.
the only deck he works (kind of) against is swarm aggro type decks (maybe freeze mage but theyseem rare) but if you take aggro to turn 9 you are toying with them and probably won without this card.
if he is the only minion on the board and the enemy player plays a spell that can only target a minion it will target him.
if he is on a board full of 2 3 4 attack minions and he is the only 5 attack and priest cast death again he just dies,
if he is the only damaged friendly minion the warriors execute will always hit him.
if he is the only minion on your side of the board when the enemy attacks 50/50 he just dies, infact it's gonna be very hard for this guy to stay alive since heals and friendly buffs also get redirected and his stat line is pathetic for his insane cost!
it's a shame because blizzard don't buff cards and this one had potential to actually be fun
I can't help but think he should have been 1# crap load cheaper or 2#been given a lot more hp, considering he can probably just redirect a fireball to himself and poof.
you play him on empty board and opponent cast polymorph there better be a chance that janarrr gets turned into a1/1 sheep,
maybe fun to pull him with barnes otherwise seems underwhelming.
blizzard are valuing "random targets" thing extreamly highly this this almost seems yog 2.0 eats 1 spell and dies for 9 mana this time.

power creep is now soo high that giving it +1 each time you put on a weapon is bad, in vanilla that would probably be considered playable

I have no Aya or Xaril so I dropped in 2xjurney below it pulls xaril often seems ok been winning against dragon priest
