Lemme address the biggest elephant in the room:

Your set has many cards with Start of Game effect and while some of them are fascinating (Hephaestus is rather fun) the others are just insane.

In fact there are many porblems, but as I said, I made a lot of mistakes but chose to keep them. The main mechanic is just one. The one you said is in fact one I had'nt realized yet.

    - Nathanos Blightcaller is just insane. Why would you ever use your Hero Power if you have perfect minion curve?

I know, I know, but also keep in mind that shuffling any card in your deck reshuffles your deck entirely (and to make the perfect curve work most of your deck will be heavy in high cost cards), and there's 3 mana neutral made specially as a counter. Also a deck where you know exactly what will be played works really bad against secrets.
It's still powerful, but manageable. I'm aware of all those things you said.

    - Whakatu seems balanced until you realize that Shaman has VolcanoElemental DestructionLightning StormHealing Rain and other cards like this to stall out for Reno Jackson.

And that's just not fun with Shudderwock.

Well, I change that by lowering the Health to 40 maybe. But I'm surprised, most people said it was really bad and just a meme card. Also it's Deathrattle and doesn't work with Shudderwock. But works with Undatakah, but I also said this set and Rastakhan's shall be considered in parallel universes, so you can't consider.

Just don't print so many game warping legendaries.

I'll keep in mind for for next time.

    1) Support is very interesting, but I'm afraid it could be used to make your deck more consistent.
Now your deck has 28 cards until you make a Beast, so you have a higher chance of getting a good opening hand.

I'm aware of that, that's why just a few can be bypassed and most supports and extremely hard to not shuffle (like "Shuffle after you deal damage")
It's everything as it was supposed to be. In fact it is supposed to be better than that. You can have 25 cards minimum by using Charging Goblin, Big Goldplate Snake and the class Support Legendary which almost all have a really loose trigger condition. I know it sounds really powerful but in theory all decks would start with 27 cards. And all could be in part countered by Noticed Thief (Neutral Common).

    2) Two Handed Axe is a bad idea. Pirate Warrior wouldn't use its' HP anyway, they'd just SMORC. I'll look up your other two-handed weapons, but this one is VERY good in aggro.

Yeah, I know, the drawback is minimal, but it's also four turns to get full value. 6 mana to break your hero power and lose the weapon right away is kinda rough. Also I'm afraid pirate warrior would be a thing in my expansion so I reivented Golakka Crawler.

    3) Furious Manticore.. more like Pit Lord.

I know, but Pit Lord is really bad, and manticore is not.

    4) Heaven's Light is actually an interesting idea. Compared to Primordial Glyph it could cost 2, but still it's a very clever simple card.

Good, it was made to be simple. It's also just one of a kind (Pre Charged Spell), so there are other cards like it.

    5) Nathanos Blightcaller is some crazy shit. You don't need no Hero Power if you curve out perfectly.

If you are interested in him you can read my Reddit post (it's the number 1 card), where I talk a lot about him.

    Hello guys,
This was my first time making a full expansion, including lore and central mechanics and everything, with 153 cards.
I made a lot of mistakes and regretted lots of things but carried it until the end. And will definitely make it better next time.
I started this expansion 9 months ago, even before Boomsday. So don't say it's a copy of Rastakhan's Rumble, it was a total coincidence.
(My very first post about this expansion: Post Made In 16/06/2018 2:12 AM)

    IMPORTANT
Also consider that this expansion and Rastakhan's exist in parallel universes, I chose to ignore its cards when making mine.

You should also check the Reddit Post with my top 10 favorite cards.
To skip the story and only see the cards: Collectible Cards and Special Cards.

    Gladiator's Coliseum
    Gladiator's Coliseum

Have you heard of the Gladiator's Coliseum of Azeroth? No? You need to go there! It's the place where the greatest fighters of the world go to fight each other and show their powerful combat abilities. And we invite you to come and show your powerful combat abilities!

But be warned: In the coliseum there is just one rule: There are no rules! [I said it first!]
So all the time people from the crowd just get down to the arena to help their favorite gladiators on the fight.

    Support

Support mechanic: The card starts the game out of the deck and when something happens every copy of the card is shuffled twice in the deck (By having 2 copies in yor decklist you get 4 shuffled cards).

    Charging Goblin

[The Mechanics works this way to allow more than 30 cards in a deck]

When you say Gladiators, what is the first thing you think? I think about really big heavy weapons, that can only be wielded with two hands!
Two Handed Weapons: Weapons that destroy your hero power when played (think of your hero power as your second hand)

    Two Handed Axe

And of course, it wouldn't be a real Coliseum without REALLY DANGEROUS CREATURES!
Unleash the beasts, the dragons, the demons! Unleash everything at those fighters!
Dangerous Creatures: Powerful (and dangerous) minions with drawbacks! (It's hard to tame these creatures)

    Furious Manticore

Spellcasters got barely any chance to succeed in these fights. You have no time to cast spells, there are enemies coming from everywhere! That's why they bring Pre Charged Spells to the fight. These spells are prepared in advance to be casted way faster during the fight. This way they stand a fair chance against the other fighters.
Pre Charged Spells: The cost of the spell is split between turns to make for a faster cast.

    Heaven's Light

You remember when I said "There are no rules"? Well, outside of the Coliseum there are some people that we call Dark Hucksters. These Hucksters sell things that can help you during the fight, and they don't play fair. You can buy some evil cursed spells or hire some mercenaries. They only care about the money (and these things are expensive).
Dark Hucksters: Small pool of very strong cards that are Uncollectible and you can only access through collectible cards (Similar to Death Knight and Ysera cards).

    End of Showcase.

The expansion is focused around the Support mechanic and Shuffle in general. Thus, it's very focused on value and deck size, but I tried to balance between control and aggro cards.

With the Support mechanic it's possible to bypass the 30 cards restriction. Every Support card is shufled twice, meaning (technically) you can have up to 60 cards in the deck, if your entire deck is made of Support cards (but on reality there are not that many support cards). But you can also have less than 30 cards in the deck by adding Supports that will never be shuffled. However having less cards in the deck is way more dangerous and will be a lot more restrict (Most supports have really easy trigger conditions, almost impossible to ignore).

    Druid (12 cards)

    Druid's Backstory:

The Coliseum unites champions from all around the world and each Druid that enters the Coliseum comes from a different biome. But in the end you can see that some aspects are common to all Druids, independantly from their biome.
The cards have themes from different biomes around the world (Desert, Forest, Swamp, Tundra, Sea)

    Touching LightsCoral HivePhytobiterNight Habits
Mystical ShroomtroopsAquatic FormApophis, Nomad DruidDevana's Amazon

    Generated Cards:
    Force of NatureIce DragonQuesting Beast

    Hunter (12 cards)

    Hunter's Backstory:

Hunters are almost the same as usual, using Beasts and traps. Except that outside the arena, when buying new traps and arrows, they often run into Goblins selling their gadgets and inventions and most Hunters just made allies with Goblins and started buying all of their crazy stuff. The Hunters are the ones to keep the Goblin market alive.

    Cards:
Dusk RavenFurious ManticoreTwo Handed CrossbowBattler Antilope
    Surreptilious

    Generated Cards:

    Mage (12 cards)

    Mage's Backstory:

Mages were one of the most affected classes because they had no chance of being succesful in the Coliseum's environment, because they had no chance to cast spells, it just took too much time, there were fighters coming from every direction at all times. Mages on the arena are masters of the most fastest and dynamic spell style: Lightning. It's fast to cast and instantaneous to act. Mages are now back in business.

    Cards:

    Generated Cards:

    Paladin (12 cards)

    Paladin's Backstory:

Paladins already were masters of Close Combat. But weren't used to being so hurt like warriors. So the type of paladin that succeded the most in the arena was the Crusader. Heavy armors that were hard to break and giant shields to aid in battle.

    Cards:

    Generated Cards:

    Priest (12 cards)

    Priest's Backstory:

Priests were in the same boat as Mage. They had no time to cast spells and couldn't fight very well. But they could summon others to fight for them. So priests went for a more Necromantic side, summoning various skeletons to fight for them in battle. They weren't fast, but they were many!
But in times of need they could still recall their Holy techniques and pray for the best.

    Cards:

    Generated Cards:

    Rogue (12 cards)

    Rogue's Backstory:

Believe it or not Rogues were also having problems in the arena! It was always an opened and wide space and they could'nt sneak into their opponents that easily. Luckily they knew the names behind the Coliseum management, and after a few bribes they could easily control all the traps and pit falls of the arena, releasing snakes, spiders and rats on to their enemies with just a few hand signals. However they still had no access to the big beast cages, but that wasn't necessary. Rogues also managed to make alliances with Mercenaries, Reptile folk and Dark Fairy folk. They would often fight as a whole group and protect one another.

    Cards:

    Generated Cards:

    Shaman (12 cards)

    Shaman's Backstory:

Shamans already had everything they needed to rock in the Coliseum, they continued doing so, with their Totems and Elementals. And just for being Shamans people would often think better of them, and Shamans were more likely to get Support from the crowd that some classes like Priest for example. And they just adapted to use that help as best as they saw fit. Also with a little voodoo, more things than just the crowd could be of help too.

    Cards:

    Generated Cards:

    Warlock (12 cards)

    Warlocks Backstory:

    Oh boy. Here we go.
In the arena there are two types of Warlocks: Gul'dan and the rest.
Some simple mortals just took a Priest-like approach and just summoned more threatening Demons and even Undeads.

But Gul'dan couldn't accept that his powers were not fit for the arena. He considered himself too weak. So he searched and found an antique and forbidden Ritual. He tried performing it several times and unleashed several creatures into the world. But at last, he succeded. He had no idea but he had opened a portal to the Hades, the Greek Underworld. When entering the first thing he encountered was the Gates of the Hades, guarded by the Cerberus. Gul'dan easily tamed him and now had a new demon in his arsenal. He passed the gate, reached the Styx and talked to Charon. Gul'dan payed the travel with his already intimidating power. Gul'dan travelled around all the underworld until he met Hades himself. Their fight was bloody but Gul'dan won and absorbed all the power and soul of a real God. He now became way more powerful and just opened a portal back to the Coliseum where he proceded to ascend from the ground alongside an army of demons, specially Cerberi. At this point everyone in the arena was against him, and he had no SUPPORT from any one whatsoever. Still, with his incredible newly acquired powers he became the champion and remained it for a long time.

    Cards:

    Generated Cards:

    Warrior (12 cards)

    Warrior's Backstory:

Warriors, even more than Shamans, were expected to be good in the arena. That's why most people would bet on them and also support them. Warriors didn't need to change their style that much, just continued to charge to the fight, use weapons and armor.

    Cards:

    Generated Cards:

    Neutral

    Common (22 cards)

I actually forgot to update this thread so there you go, lots of cards all of a sudden.
Some comments from myself about the cards:
    - Stomping Oak: "Lose a Mana Crystal" is not exactly correct but Blizzard already used it to save space on the card and I did the same.
    - Living Forest: Kind of a meme card. Lots of value but very slow.
    - Touching Lights: Brother Bear reference;
    - Nathanos Blightcaller: It seems op at first glance but when you stop to think it's way worse.
    - Expert-Level Familiar: Obviously this minion won't be at the crowd, so why being a Support card? It is a Support because it's only shuffled in the deck after being "called" by their owner (It's a familiar afterall).
    - Lightning Teleport: The way I imagine the animation for this card. A lightning hits the minion, like Shazam, then the minion disappears.
    - Ink Elemental: Inkmaster Solia used magical ink to draw tattoos that make their owner's spells stronger. Let's say that during a failed attempt to replicate that magical ink, this elemental was born.
    - Voltaic Elemental: You can combo this card with Witchwood Piper. Actually lots of cards in my expansion combo with Piper. Hum, that's odd, I didn't plan for that to happen.
    - Bloodless Secretmancer: I don't like this card so much. I'll probably change it later.
    -  Descend From Heaven (Priest) and Ascend from Hell (Warlock) use the same artwork. It's the first time I made matching cards like that.
    - Eternal Bloodthirst: Anyone can notice the clear Defile influence on this card.
    - Totem Tower: If you didn't shuffle any card in your deck on turn 5, you can play this card to trigger some Supports and therefore, it synergizes with itself.
    - Whakatu, Duskwraith: If you are facing an aggro you are probably dead by turn 3. But if not, know that this card synergize with Witchwood Piper.
    - Bursting Undead: Yu-Gi-Oh reference.
    - Echo of War: THAT'S AN OP CARD. I know, I wanted it to be op but not broken enough to deserve a nerf.
    - Blademaster Samuro: He can Support infinite times because everytime he supports it's actually a copy of himself.
    - Noticed Thief: Made specifically to counter Nathanos Blightcaller.

That's it guys, hope you are enjoying my expansion.

All the spells that add a spell to your hand should cost more. Why would I run Flamestrike when I could add the other card and maybe use it to generate it earlier when I have free mana?

It should cost 4 or 5 so that you're paying for the added flexibility.

But you are forgetting the element of surprise. If you play Pre Charged Flames on turn 3 you spent your turn doing one thing: Saying to your opponent that you have a flamestrike and that you intend to use it. If you play Flamestrike on turn 4 it won't be as effective because your opponent will hold minions on hand (it's like a Flamestrike that takes one turn to happen). If you don't play you wasted your turn 3. Still, these cards are straight up better versions of Flamestrike or Mind Control, but these cards are not as good as they seem. So I'll probably not nerf them because I don't feel it's necessary.

Added Support Legendary for Mage. Not sure of what I intended to do with it. Maybe I'll change it.
Added 4 cards for Rogue. I decided to give rogue two blending themes: Bad Battlecries (which includes the 2HW) and Healing, and they tie together with the Support Legendary.
A deck idea using these themes would contain drawback battlecries and healing. When the Dragonborn got played it would be just a matter of time to overcome opponent with value. And when you have healing, time is no problem.
Not sure yet if those will be all the cards within this theme or not.

That's why I'll split the Support cards in two types: Hard and Easy Support.
Hard Supports are hard to be shuffled in the deck, meaning you can use them to have less than 30 cards and will be in very limited amount.

At the end of the expansion the smallest possible deck you'll be able to create will be 25 or 24 cards (but also limiting deckbuilding options). I'm not sure yet. I'm aware that this is a very dangerous mechanic to have and needs to be well planned.

Easy Supports are cards that are very easy to shuffle, meaning that its almost impossible to avoid shuffling it and will be the most common type of Support cards.

On total are 142 cards, 12 for every class (2 legendaries, 3 epics, 3 rares, 4 commons) and 34 Neutrals (5 legendaries, 8 epics, 8 rares and 13 commons).
So far I made all 2HW (2 Handed Weapons), all DC (Dangerous Creatures), all PCS (Pre Charged Spells) and all DHR (Dark Huckster Related) cards.

Only Mages with really fast-casting spells have a chance to shine. That's where the Lightning Mages come in. Their Lightning spells are instant and deadly.

Rogue cards are mostly themed around small creature, traps and tricks. Also most battlecries have negative effects.

posted a message on Which Version of this Card is the Best?

    Hello,

I've created a card and it's really hard to balance. I had an initial version but after speaking with some friends everyone agreed that the card was very weak (old version: Xia, Queen of Suffering). Just to explain the effect better: Any damage you deal on the minion is redirected to the hero (and doubled), so essentially it's an infinite health minion, but she still dies to Poisonous effects, Polymorph, Shadow Word: Death, etc. and can still be silenced, taken control, returned to hand, etc.

The initial idea for the card was a minion that you drop on turn 4 with insane tempo. The opponent would quickly start to lose the game and would use the double damage drawback in order to try to win first.

So I came up with these 4 new versions but I don't know exactly which one to choose:

    • The Charge Version was suggested to me by a friend. The problem is that it diverts from the original purpose of the card, I don't want a Finisher, I want a High Tempo card.
    • The Stealth Version was my first idea and tried to keep things simple, just delaying the damage from the opponent in one turn.
    • The 8 Attack Version was my second idea, still trying to keep things simple. Just increased the damage of the card.
    • The Summon Version was a more complicated one. The attack was decreased but a new card comes along: Sarlia, The Servant. The pressure is reduced but now you can keep it longer. Also she prevents enemy minions to trade on Xia.

If you have any better idea for a version of Xia, just make your comment and share your thoughts.

posted a message on Hearthstone MOD in development!

Well, as I saw on my entrepreneurship class, if you don't get to earn money with other's stuff, it's totally legal, you just need to check if this stands for all countries or just for mine (Brazil).
Man, I'm a Computer Science student, and I'm interested in helping. I don't know too much, but I can program C, C++, C# and Java, I just need to learn more about graphics library and APIs. If you could just give a north of what I need to do, I can help you. It would also be a chance for me to get some experience. I also have lots of experience creating and balancing cards, I have my own HS fan expansion, as you can check here: http://rutherfordio.imgur.com/.
If you wanna contact me, send an e-mail to leo.del.lama@hotmail.com (you may also answer this topic lol).

posted a message on Do you want YOUR cards in a Hearthstone game? HUGE Opportunity!

All cards that I will post here are from my expansions, you can find the complete expansions here: http://rutherfordio.imgur.com/.
I have cards on my expansion that are not my ideas, but I make it clear when it's not mine. Here I will post only cards that I myself made.
I always put the artist name and flavor text on my work, so every card on the expansion will have these info. I didn't search for potential sounds because it's too dificult and don't even think that my cards will be chosen. But if they get to be, just notice me and I can go find some sounds.
Here are some of the best:

    I hope you enjoy them.

    Changed cards:

    • (Common Neutral) Joust Cheater grammar corrected.
    • (Warlock) Drain Mana is not op as hell anymore.
    • (Rogue) Sword Push description improved.
    • (Priest) Fog of Rig-ess cost changed to 6.
    • (Mage) Tomb of Ice now freezes "minions".

I'm trying to improve Farseer Nobundo (Shaman legendary). Any ideas? He is just too boring, doesn't do anything special neither impactant.

    • Joust Cheater - Thanks, I don't speak fluently, sometimes this kind of mistake happens.
    • The Exodar - I don't think this card is as powerful as BGH, for me it would se play only in paladin (The Exodar + Humility).
    • M'uru - Note: It can't be played with Innvervate. You can only play it by using cards that would decrease its mana cost (Thaurissan, Pint-Sized Summoner, Shadowfiend, Far Sight, Naga Sea Witch, Aviana, Unstable Portal).
    • Magnus - I really wanted to make a bad legendary (with a cool battlecry). I was like "I'll make my own Hemet, why not?".
    • Courage - This expansion was totally about killing aggro decks and turning my control meta dream into reality.
    • Slashdance - That's the art's name. Yeah, really weird.
    • Drain Mana - Yeah, I realized that it was op after posting it. When I was making it, I didn't think what happens when you play it on turn 3, I was focused on late game.
    • Earth's Blessing - Each friendly minion will gain 2 or 3 Health chosen randomly. You sure I'm losing Health? How should I increase the effect?
    • Sword Push - I see, good observation.
    • Fog of Rig-ess - I decided that 5 mana should be balanced for "Summon a copy of the enemy board", so I add the "destroy" part and decreased 1 mana. The problem is that you're not the first to say that, so I will probably change the cost to 6.
    • Divine Intervention - I'm aware of that, it's intended to make possible a 120 Health Paladin. (Obs:  this card was created before Reno, and because of him, now it looks really op).
    • Tomb of Ice - It was not suposed to make this. I'll change the text to "Frozen minions". If you freeze also the enemy hero forever, it would be op. This is not what I wanted when created the card.
    • Hibernate - This card is a card made for arena/budget decks. It synergies with a basic card, easy combo.
    • Inside the Swamp - You're not the first to say this.
    • Animal Soul - Of course, only board. And remember that Hemet kills a beast.

In fact I created a new keyword, but I made only 3 or 4 cards with it and decided not to put on the expansion. If you are curious, I called it Chain. It's like a secret, under specific conditions, the chain card is kinda discarded or used (I didn't decided yet), and the effect specified happens. The cool part about the effect is that a chain can trigger another chain (lol, now you know where the name came from), and can also happens during your turn.
Example: 5 mana minion, (5/5), If an enemy minion dies Chain: Restore 6 Health to your Hero. (When an enemy minion dies, the card is discarded and your hero gain 6 Health).

I really would like, please, notice me when you finish it.

    Changed cards:

    • (Druid) Bestiality now is Animal Soul, and costs 1 mana.
    • (Epic Neutral) Researcher-Boss now costs 5 mana (6/5).
    • (Hunter) Explosive Shuriken now deals AOE damage only to enemy minions.
    • (Hunter) Warped Poniard changed to 4/2 and "only minions".
    • (Hunter) Ozumat gained +2 Health.
    • (Mage) Resummoning Magic now costs 2 and "become also".
    • (Warlock) Fiery Dragonkin now is a dragon, as it was suposed to be.
    • (Warlock) Empowering now is Power Chamber and costs 1 mana.
    • (Rare Neutral) Deathful Servant was a piece of shit. I deleted it and replaced with Hell Bringer.
    • (Warrior) Lord Kur'talos now has an additional effect.
    • (Legendary Neutral) Queen Azshara deleted. Replaced with Therazane.
    • (Warlock) Drain Mana text totally changed. Now it's insane. Balanced? I think it is. Give me your opinions.
