double Arcane Giant Open the Waygate Alexstrasza is an otk combo.
And not difficult to pull off.

Good thing the quest is nigh impossible to complete.

The fact that this has 3 health means that it's borderline unplayable.

As a 3/4 would have been a huge breakpoint

posted a message on New Warrior Quest - Fire Plume's Heart

The biggest problem with taunt warrior and why that kind of strategy would never work is because of the armor up hero power.

There was no reason to play taunts when the hero power only gets value when the opponent goes face.

With this quest warrior can now play a full anti aggro deck and win any value game with this.

As always with every damn expansion there is a clear favoritism towards warrior.

yea - balance/equality. would love to see the Dev's learn that concept.

Paladin gets Power Word: Tentacles but better.

Now gives taunt and provides a replacement 4 cost 2/6 taunt minion - for only 1 mana more!

Turn 5 Defender of Argus, turn 6 Spikeridged Steed on any of the 3 minions on board that survives, turn 7 play Stegodon if buffed creatures dies + Tar Creeper and still have full board state.

This doesn't seem too far fetched. The power creep of paladin buff cards verse its cost is getting out of hand.

Compare Hand of Protection or Divine Strength to Power Word: Shield and you get the opposite side your own argument.
Paladin get one playable buff card and it's getting out of hand?
Vs. it's cost this card is the same as Wobbling Runts, which sees as much play as Power Word: Tentacles

It doesn't make sense to me to run stone over djinni.

Especially since you are also not running cons.

Could work in Hunter potentially, to remove all those 1 cost 3/2's from your deck so you can draw your big guys.

     huh?
He might be being sarcastic, but I definitely have to experiment with it... you have queen Carnassa in hand and you may want to play hemet first to insure raptor draws, or you've had enough board pressure with raptors, and they play a baron geddon you can't take care of, then bam hemet. Is it good? Not sure, but playing a 5 cost 8/8 and then a 6 cost 6/6 that thins the deck may actually be better than playing a bunch of 2 helath raptors if you are against lets say mage and you know they have volcanic potion etc. (and you haven't drawn into your tundra rhino combo)... ieie drawing constantly into 1 drop 3/2's isn't always good.

     Guys... Seriously?
This card opens up so many possibilities and this is what you come up with.
    Haha

    Very interesting card.

Going to craft it and mess around with it for sure.

I think this is going to be one of the sleeper cards of the expansion.

It serves a dual purpose as a two drop and doesn't lose value later.

Uh people think that this is bad?

Sludge Belcher was considered OP at 3-5 taunt, deathrattle summon 1-2 taunt for 5 mana...

Assuming you have a dude up, this is essentially 3-7 taunt, deathrattle summon 2-6 taunt for 6 mana... So almost strictly better.

Yeah a dude is 2 mana but you can think of it as a wisp(0 mana cost worth of stats). The point is that this card is strong.

It's not good practice to make gamebreaking assumptions in evaluation.
The midgame of hearthstone is generally characterized by battling for mana efficiency and whoever breaks curve first falls behind. Which is definitely the case if you are hero powering on turn 5.
Sludge belcher was good because it didn't break curve.
There are cases where the opponent is incentivised not to kill something, like eggs, nerubian egg, dragon egg, runic egg, etc. In this case your analasys would apply and the minion would also have charge, which is pretty good.
Comparing hero powering to wisp is making the assumption that you have infinite cards and the cost of a card is 0.
Also, something cannot be "almost strictly better" that's like saying this is dark white.
I agree that the card is strong, but it's also situational.

This cards reminds me a lot of Wobbling Runts, which of course never saw play.

So the only reason you would play this is for the taunt keyword.
Whether that's good enough is impossible to tell without playtesting the card.

Ivory Knight is also getting a lot better this expansion so the 6 slot might be too cramped, however, I would be ecstatic with discovering this from ivory knight.

    Good card on it's own.
I'm a big fan of hexproof.

    But what deck for it.

Beast druids are inherently fast decks and savage roar is a far better finisher than this, you wouldn't replace onyxia with this.

The oldschool 'Timmy' ramp druid already runs control decks dry of removal, when they draw their in the correct order that is.
Of course you play this in that deck.

There is also a potential Lunar Visions Sunfury Protector combo for even more Timmy style points.

posted a message on There isn't enough card's left for everything paladin needs.

This is also what I'm thinking.

There might even be some potential for building a U-shaped curve with Hemet.

17 1-3 mana stuff, lot's of draw, Hemet, 2 truesilvers, barnes and then 9 7+mana badboys. Very unlikely to work but it's something.

In any case it seems like small-time recruits is the way forward. The question is just how low tier cards we are willing to go.

    Elven Archer Equality?

it also sucks that Lost in the Jungle is not a minion.

posted a message on New Paladin Quest - The Last Kaleidosaur

I've read through all of the comments here, not something I usually do.
But because I am shocked at how ridiculous this card is.

A lot of you are saying that this might be viable with x cards we have yet to see et.c.

Just think about it this way:

Let's make the assumption that you will reliably get to cast 6 spells on your minions by turn 12 (I think even that might be a stretch).

Now would you put Galvadon in your deck if it read "Always draw this in your opening hand, you cannot play it until turn 12",
then, would you put N'zoth in your deck if you always had it in your opening hand.

So this opens up some questions.

    • Can we make it faster, get it at around turn 8-9.
    • Does it win the game.
    • Can we win without it.

Even if they give us 4 enchantment creature cards to go with this card and the deck would be good, I'm worried that the deck would just be better without it.

We need more than just card draw.

Small-Time Recruits is a pretty good source of draw, but we have nothing to go with it.

Card draw doesn't matter at all when you can't build a deck with 30 playable cards.
