posted a message on How much gold did you save for The Grand Tournament?

I don't know what's more impressive: the gold saving or the the dust saving.

There seems to be a theme that people have saved up a lot of gold but probably won't use much for The Grand Tournament. I don't think the set is that underwhelming. Is my perspective wrong or is saving dust smarter than saving gold?

These are just thoughts I have. The original post is still my primary question.

    Ironbeak Owl

Owls live in trees, gives Silence. That's my best guess.

But it only shows the flavor text if you're on the computer. Flavor text cannot be seen on the app version in my experience.

I did not know that. I only use the browser on my phone when I look things up.

Fair enough. The flavor text riddles are a handicap for me because I primarily play on my phone. I have some pretty strong google abilities but finding flavor text answers is hard for me.

posted a message on How much gold did you save for The Grand Tournament?

When The Grant Tournament was announced, I made a decision. Even though my collection isn't complete with any of the sets, I would save my gold until The Grand Tournament was released and see how much I could get. I couldn't afford the pre-order so whatever I saved is what I would be able to get when the set released.

I made it to about 2700 (not sure of the exact number and I can't check with the server maintenance happening) as of today. I did purchase a few arena runs, none of which went past 5 wins. I also hit the Big Winner achievement which helped a lot and I ranked up from 20 to 11.

So, for my question, it doesn't matter if you purchased the preorder or if you plan to buy packs with real money upon release. The questions are these:

1: Did you save gold for The Grand Tournament?

2: If so, how much gold did you save?

Unless it's Ancient Mage since he always forgets things.....?

This would have been my guess. Since the flavor text says he always "wanders into someone else's game", which seems to be the only reference to Field of Dreams, since they built the field and then the baseball stars wandered in through the field.

I also think the riddle doesn't give enough to figure it out easily.

To make a guess, I'll say Ethereal Arcanist because his flavor text says he put on cloth to give form to their non-corporeal bodies and the very dead baseball players wore their uniforms.

It makes as much sense as anything else.

I guess it helps if I read it. It makes sense that it's a mech I guess. It's just weird to think of any Warlock specific minion that isn't a demon.

I think there's 4: Wrathguard and Anima Golem. Plus if you wanted to save anything after giving it Power Overwhelming.

Ogre Brute? Sorry for the double guess.

I made a guess based on what probably wasn't a hint so this is my real guess.

I know I've been gone for a bit and I don't make the rules but might I suggest that, if someone wants to pass the riddle, you pick someone specific who was guessing at the last one to make the next one. That should help avoid the double riddle issue.

I really, really don't mean to be rude or anything, but I don't think that would really help. Choosing someone to pass it on to is similar to saying "the person who wins does it". What if the person you pass it to doesn't want to do one? You wait 24 more hours for this person to connect and pass it on to someone else, who may do just the same? Unless you're 100% sure that this very user will accept to do it, I don't think it'll be beneficial to the thread. Then again, I'm simply expressing my own opinion and not trying to force it down on anyone ;-)

The only confusion is caused by the fact people are not checking:

    - if there's no other riddle before they post their reply

    - if the riddle they're answering is the correct one

When you realize you "double post" a riddle, why not simply edit your post and give way to the one that was posted correctly? I get it, you thought of a riddle and it's frustrating, but you're not forced to lose it, you could save it as a draft on here, save it somewhere on your computer, there are many ways to keep it at hand for the next opportunity to show up ^^,

Just as justin21299 said, patience is the word, Snowflake has 9-10 more hours as I'm writing this to come up with a riddle ;-)

I'm not trying to rush anything. It just seems like there should be some understanding in place of what to do. I hear your point about the possibility of an infinite chain of people passing and that's no good.

I was just offering my opinion as well. I've just noticed the last couple times someone has tossed a riddle up up to anyone, there have been two riddles posted. I think the issue has been not refreshing the page. The idea of editing the "second" riddle and deferring is a good plan. Maybe the "rule" should be that, if two riddles are posted, whichever one posted first is the riddle that goes and the second one should be edited away or otherwise not answered.

I'm in no hurry. But it's been a week and there's been at least 2 double riddle moments as a result of people passing. I think people should be able to pass but I think someone should be picked because clearly the open floor is causing confusion.

My experience was that when this deck draws well, it is pretty hard to beat. But since it has literally no "traditional" card draw, it's almost impossible to recover from a bad draw unless your opponent plays really poorly into Mirror Entity.
