posted a message on Bringing back the fun

I also like the Dreadsteed and Ambush rogue decks, and Astral Communion, Aggro pally with Millhouse, Mukla and Divine Favor. Alarm-o-bot is a lot of fun to play also.

My favorite gimmicky thing to do is build a pretty good deck around some bad legends. The aggro pally deck for example makes great use of Millhouse and Mukla.

Right now Gruul has caught my eye, and I think Astral Communion is the best fit for him. He's not competing with cards like Rag and Dr. Boom because those are also included in the deck. When you have a lot of big threats in the deck, I think it's okay to have Gruul be one of them. There might be situations where you run them out of removal and then Gruul just wins you games.

posted a message on I need to craft a fun legendary

Go with Sylvanas. You can't possibly ever regret crafting her and she has great potential to be funny. You can start out by designing a deck around her deathrattle a bit to emphasize the fun aspect. Then when you get bored with that you can always put her in your good decks and start winning more games :)

posted a message on Why do people think making it to ranks outside legend is impressive?
    Quote from Veggente jump

Imho, there nothing wrong in bragging a little bit when you have a personal exploit in the game. However, it a little bit disturbing (or ridicolous if you want) when people use things like "with this deck I destroyed everything in my road from r20 to r15" as a supportive argument for (or against) the quality of one deck or to advertise their own self-made deck.

That's a fair point. If players phrase it like that it sounds a bit ridiculous. But shooting down players who get excited about reaching new levels of skill is many times more ridiculous. No matter what rank they play at.

    posted a message on ICEHOWL

Yeah, honestly I wouldn't disenchant. The card looks pretty good on paper. A 10/10 charger for 9 mana? Yes please. It's situational. But a lot of good legends are. This card is more meta dependent than other legends, but I can't think of another card that fills the Icehowl niche.

Against a ramp druid you sometimes get to kill off three minions with your Icehowl. It's pretty ridiculous that it can slay a 5/10 Ancient of Lore and leave a 10/5 on the board. And so Icehowl can help you out-card other control decks. You can run this into their legends and it will stick around as a threat that demands attention. If the meta is too aggressive, Icehowl has no place in your decks.

It also depends on how much you care about competitive play and casual play.

Why do people think making it to ranks outside legend is impressive?

Why are people so ignorant they can only see things from their viewpoint? Is it really that difficult for you to understand that someone hitting rank 5 after being stuck at rank 10 for several months is quite an achievement? Don't you think that's impressive? I do.

    It's just all relative.

You would be described as a pleb by Hearthstone professionals. They would feel slight embarrassment if they would lose to you. Does that make you a bad player? No. But you're still just a commoner compared to them. Just legend tier aka small fry.

posted a message on Rogue Draw Power (Busts out laughing)

Prep + Sprint draws you four cards but it's only +2 cards in hand.

It's true though that you can't just say that you pay x mana per card. Because yes, Arcane Intellect is cheaper per card but it's only a +1. With Sprint you pay more per card drawn but it's a +3. If you calculate from a card advantage point of view, you get a better deal with Sprint. If you simply look at cost per card drawn, then AI is better.

posted a message on Rogue Draw Power (Busts out laughing)

Rogue is a cycling-based class. It has more than enough card draw, but struggles to pick up cards in bunches. This is what makes it difficult for them to play control. Rogue does have a lot of really good cards, but they're a bit narrow in use.

posted a message on question for all haters

I run Hungry Crab in my ALL epic deck. One game was pretty funny. I went turn one Hungry Crab. Opponent emotes ''well played'' and plays Living Roots on my Crab. He follows it up with ''My apologies''. I retaliate with the threaten emote before I drop my second Hungry Crab. This time he can't kill it. He hero powers it for one damage. Next turn I Recombobulate the Crab into an Angry Chicken. ''Well played'' is my opponent's direct response, before he Swipes everything down. Funniest moment was when my Twilight Guardian got hit by my own Sea Reaver which allowed me to trade it into his Sylvanas, without losing it to my opponent.

posted a message on TGT misplays you made with new cards

When new sets get released, the majority of us players have to learn new card interactions the hard way. I for example recklessly BGH'd down Dr. Boom when my mage opponent had Effigy up. It turned into Archmage Antonidas.

The biggest one I made though was trading my whole board for a big turn 8 Kel'Thuzad turn. One of the minions that got traded was a Darnassus Aspirant. That was pretty painful as I could have just played KT beforehand.

posted a message on New Druid Card - Astral Communion

I couldn't resist crafting two Astral Communions. So I played around with it a bit. At first I tried the strategy of playing lots of cycling cards to ensure drawing into the big cards after Communion. But I quickly found out that you actually go to fatigue this way! The opponent just needs to answer your few heavy bombs and they can just watch you die a slow and miserable death.

So I removed the useless draw and threw in some better removal and more legends. Now it plays like a top-curve ramp druid deck that doesn't specifically rely on Astral Communion to have a game plan.

I have been very happy with Nexus-Champion Saraad though. I was lucky enough to draw him immediately after a quick Communion AND him fetching me a Duplicate. That happened TWICE in like 10 games. I also crushed a Secret Paladin. He had his big Mysterious Challenger turn. I cleared a bunch of secrets with hero power, ran two small minions into his buffed Challenger and finished it off with a Bane of Doom, giving me that 5/7 demon.

One game I topdecked a Deathwing against a taunt warrior who had TWO buffed Deathlords on board. Needless to say I won that game.

I also spectacularly lost some games. Obviously.

posted a message on What's in Your TGT Packs? (Pack Sharing Thread)

I got very lucky opening my 50 packs.

First pack, first card I opened was Justicar Trueheart!

Pack #19 contained Nexus-Champion SaraadThe Mistcaller and an epic!

Then two more legends in my last 30 packs; Skycap'n Kragg and Gormok the Impaler.

Honorable mentions: Coldarra Drake and a golden Cutpurse.

First I will try a Mage Inspire deck. Then Gormok Zoo!

posted a message on Makes me happy when I play against a hunter and they aren't face hunter.

I have a pretty big collection of cards and Face Hunter is one of my top 5 favorite decks. You should be happy that you have a good grasp on how certain match-ups play out. I don't see the problem. Use it to your advantage.

The reason I like Face Hunter is because the games usually come down to killing the other guy before they kill you next turn. Very close and tense games. I like how you have to make clever minion trades sometimes. I like killing people with Leeroy Jenkins.

posted a message on Why are you guys assuming TGT will slow down the meta rather than speed it up?

I like this philosophy in principle. However, you do have to reckon with the aggro mindset, which is not very imaginative or creative. Take (as a random example) Face Punters, who appear to think something along these lines: "Hmm, the opponent just ran out Bloodmage Thalnos. Should I maybe kill it with Glaivezooka? Naahhhhh! HIT FACE! HIT FACE! HIT FACE!"

So presumably the same reasoning would apply in the wider sense. "Hmm, I'm seeing a lot of people try Paper in a vain attempt to suppress players like me. Would it maybe be strategic to switch to Scissors? Naahhhhh! ROCK! ROCK! ROCK!"

True, some players will stick to what they know and sometimes you feel bad (man) when a deck that is terribly positioned in the metagame beats your good deck. But in the grand scheme of things and over many, many games there is no way a player that has such a mindset will consistently do better than a player who possesses the needed adaptability.
