posted a message on So next content will be an adventure or expansion?

I'm saving gold starting this week toward whatever it is. If it's an adventure I can just pick it up for free with just gold, otherwise it'll be a good chunk toward the new expansion without having to dip into my gaming funds too hard.

posted a message on Dusting Habits

My dusting habits have gone from dusting "bad" cards (which has backfired when a card turned out to be good, ie. Thalnos) to dusting only gold cards which I already have 2 regulars when I need to craft a certain card, to now just dusting extras and leaving goldens alone. This is first expansion where I'm considering not only keeping my goldens, but dusting the non-goldens so I have either a 1-of non golden, and 1-of golden, or a golden playset.

The reason is because as time has gone on, my collection has gotten more and more complete, where I don't feel like I desperately need a given Legendary or Epic. Another reason is, especially with the more recent expansions, golden cards just look so much better than from older sets like Classic, so I'm more comfortable with keeping them.

posted a message on nerf Thing from Below

Thing From Below is best at 4 or less Mana, so this would require summoning 2 totems in a turn. Hero Power + 1 Mana spell with Witchdoctor out means 7 Mana. Which I mean, it works with Wicked Witchdoctor for sure, but I think would be hard to gain value even in a totem deck that's focusing on tempo throughout the game.

Another possibility is to simply make the cost reduction occur when it's in hand. That way it's a bad top deck, whereas in Midrange Shaman it's currently amazing because you can usually play it for free or near to. Making it reduce in hand would also force totem decks to consider keeping it in an opening mulligan so they can T2 totem -> T3 totem -> T4 Thing From Below. Control Shaman would still run it because even if it's top decked in late game, they might not mind playing it at 6 mana on turns where the board has been wiped.

Probably a token generated by another card.

No it's just a filler like Pompous Thespian
Both this and Worgen Greaser don't have the MSG watermark like all the other collectible cards.

posted a message on My prediction for Don Han'Cho

I don't think they're just looking at what needs to be viable for competitive when it comes to building these cards. They are also building them to express the theme and flavor of this expansion. All the Factions have a mixed background, and it makes sense for the Faction leaders to express that. Yes Malkorok is a card, but I don't see that interfering with Don Han'Cho doing something similar.

Also Grimy Goons already has multiple cards that give minions in hand +1/+1, and it makes sense to have the Faction leaders stand out rather than being bigger versions of other cards. Making him another +1/+1 at the end of your turn may be exciting for competitive players, but boring for everyone else.

posted a message on Possible Innervate change (custom card)
    Quote from TheRealMalfurion >>

First of all I find you editing in the fact that the idea was not originally yours is very dishonest. Second, Innervate is fine as it and is meant to ramp you to things you couldn't normally do. We don't need to have The Coin as a playable card and even in Rogue it is barely justified because of the synergy that it provides with Miracle Rogue. Stop trying to ruin cards that are fine with these threads. Druid doesn't have good early game and the reasoning is that you want to ramp to larger threats early and Innervate is a way to make the process more consistent since you aren't guaranteed a Wild Growth. And to those saying that with Fandral Staghelm this would be much stronger, sure you are kind of right, but what about when Fandral Staghelm leaves Standard rotation? I guess then the card is just bad because you lose the early game ramp consistency that you want.

These are shortsighted requests and are the kind of things that led to Execute (which may be much harder to trigger in a future rotation) being nerfed. I don't even understand why people are trying so hard to nerf basic and classic to hell, since I am sure that is not the point of an evergreen set. Blizzard intended basic and classic to be something that is also in the game, thus providing familiarity to returning players and solid cards for f2p players to invest in. If Blizzard wanted to nerf everything they would just rotate core sets. The problem is that Blizzard will hear this complaints if enough people whine about it and slowly, but surely you will have achieved your purpose of destroying the 2 core sets one nerf request at a time. The damage you guys do is irreversible, since at least up to now Blizzard hasn't buffed any cards.

Extra Edit: Since some people are talking about unfair stuff I need to add here that you get ramp at the expense of card advantage. Sure you may get a 6 drop at turn 2, but what if your opponent has the perfect answer and disposes of your card? Where does that leave you? No cards in hand, good luck winning. In Druid it makes no sense to trade 1 card for 1 mana especially given that you have more expensive cards overall. The only class it makes sense in is Rogue (and even there I wouldn't justify making a card out of it like they did with Counterfeit Coin).

I don't follow what's dishonest about it. I was reminded Noxious proposed the idea, I acknowledged that and included it. Or would you rather I not update the OP?
As for the original Innervate, it does sacrifice card advantage, but gains massive tempo, and that is the problem. If it is answered then fantastic, control exists for a reason, but if not? It can outright win the game. With a 0-mana card.
This is why "mana cheat" abilities are tricky to balance in CCGs. Look at the history of MtG's Black Lotus, Moxen, and other cards: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Power_Nine
As for a 1 for 1 Mana card not making sense in non-Rogue, keep in mind Gadgetzan Auctioneer is sometimes used in Druid. And if you have more Mana Crystals, Refreshing 2 of them is the same as the original Innervate with other plays on that turn, so it's still a 1 for 2 Mana card.

Legendary for Warrior/Hunter/Paladin should create custom weapon :D

I really like this idea, especially if it means all the Faction Legendaries require Highlander decks. If even one of them has a use without Reno it means highlander decks will remain a viable concept after LoE rotates.

posted a message on New Card - Lotus Agents (Druids, Rogues, and Shamans)

I think people are evaluating this card unfairly. This is a control card, and you're looking to get value by picking a card that's either perfect for the situation, or crazy for your class to get. Imagine if Rogue or Druid could get Hex or Elemental Destruction. Imagine pulling Ethereal Peddler and discounting your own cards.

Yes the body is weak, but no one plays Ethereal Conjurer or Justicar Trueheart for the body. If it lives you probably won because your opponent has no board or answers, but if not you've forced removal or soaked up aggro's damage.

Finally I just can't discount Discover effects until they're in play. Just about every Discover mechanic has seen at least some play, and with all the spells/minions that would be the nuts in other classes, even if you're not guaranteed to get them I think this is still worth it in the right decks.

posted a message on Three AoE cards for Priest

Since Wild Pyromancer triggers after the spell has resolved, it would not work with the first one.

So the third one works like this: the game picks each minion on board and pairs it up with one other minion, and they all trade. If there's an uneven number of minions, one is randomly picked to not trade. Damage is dealt, and any surviving minions are paired up for another round of trades, while dead minions are put in "mortally wounded" status and are excluded, same with how Arcane Missiles and Flamewaker pings ignores dead minions. Once there are no valid pairs left (due to dead minions or the only ones left have 0 Attack), all minions die and deathrattles trigger in order of play.

Even minions with "Can't attack" will be affected, but not those with 0 Attack unless there is an effect in play that will give them an attack bonus. For example, if Raid Leader is in play on a board of 0 Attack totems, the totems will trade.

I am not 100% sure that if the Raid Leader takes mortal damage, its effect will remain until the spell resolves. I'm inclined to believe it will, and thus allow the Totems to clear each other. It depends on the specifics of how Hearthstone handles aura effects in conjunction with resolving effects prior to the death phase. However to prevent the spell from clearing Deathrattle spawns, it has to trigger them last.

posted a message on Three AoE cards for Priest

I have three different concepts for 6-Mana board clears for Priest, so I thought I'd throw them up for people to critique.

Which one would you pick assuming it was the primary AoE card for Priest in a new set? Also assume this is for a new year of Standard where Excavated Evil has rotated out. If you like a card's concept but think its cost should be adjusted, also let me know that. :)

posted a message on Will Midrange Shaman die out in the next rotation?

Rotation will lose the early game that makes midrange Shaman so oppressive, though not things like spirit claws. It's possible totem Shaman becomes the new midrange variant of choice. Control Shaman would need some help seeing as both healing wave and elemental destruction leaving would leave the archetype with fewer recovery options.
