What people also don't factor in with DoL mage is how busted the deck is without DoL. It wins 75% of games with DoL but even when it doesn't draw it, the deck is really strong anyway and so it's not a case you are going to win if they don't draw DoL, it just means you have a chance to win still. The only way to beat no minion mage without DoL is still aggro, which still has a 20% wr or so vs paladin. The reason for no minion mage being so strong is:

    1. The minions you get from font are extremely strong with the reduced minion pool. You can even get jandice, which is game winning.

    2. With primordial/font/apexis mage puts out a mid range push that rivals mid range decks. Like mid range decks, it's weak to aggro, but extremely strong vs control.

    3. No minion mage has really good burn that allows it to go face (two mask, two fireball, two apexis, and even ruined orb goes face).

    4. Ring toss has an 80% chance of getting counter spell, so you can't deal with their board.

    5. Refreshing spring mana is 0 mana draw two at worst or at best it's actually gain 1 - 2 mana draw two. Mage plays more cards in a turn than rogue these days.

    6. Apexis minion pool is extremely strong, with very few really awful cards (notably jandice as a 2/1 and there is also a 1/1).

    7. Devolving missiles is 1 mana hex, meaning you can't build a board they can't deal with.

If it really works again mages I can take some losses against locks. 7 out of 10 matches are mages....

The trouble with priest right now is having no win conditions and also having to auto concede vs warlock. I am not sure why they made priest be put in a position where every single priest deck loses to tickatus.

I really want to somehow fit The Nameless One into the deck, since the card is pretty bonkers. Silencing a paladin minion that has been buffed with avenge/libram/hand of adal is great. Silencing a watchpost and becoming a copy of that watchpost is great. Not auto losing to warrior is great (minor consideration but it's nice if we don't auto lose to rattlegore). Being able to deal with rustwix is also good. Warlock matchup is awful but if the have rustwix it's even more unwinnable. It's tempting to cut a SW:Death for it or a holy smite for it.

    posted a message on Pure Dudes / 43 - 26 to Legend / 12 - 3 after Oh My Yogg! changes

Good deck. I played 32 games of it with a 62% win rate and went from D3 to legend. I have previously been high legend etc too so after playing the deck I feel qualified to give some recommendations.

First off I need to say the deck’s win rate that I got and other people have is also a feature of people being unfamiliar with this deck and so keep that in mind. It’s unlikely to be a 60% win rate deck. The best decks are around 55% usually.

My feeling about the deck is that two copies of Oh My Yogg! is not required, a dead card in some matchups (it feels bad vs rogue since 0 mana spells can give then innervate or lightning bloom) and only good vs decks with lots of board clears. I want it in some matchups such as vs priest or druid (glowfly swarm) but I don’t want it in other like vs aggro rogue. Therefore, one copy might be more optimal.

Since control decks aren’t a big part of the meta right now and you can play around things like consecration easily and just refill the board anyway vs control, it doesn’t seem strictly necessary to run two copies. That being said, I accept also there aren’t that many great contenders for this spot. However, I considered swapping one copy out for a blessing of might to give the deck a bit more reach since often I was 1 or 2 off lethal and had to wait for the next turn. I considered righteous cause as an option too but that may be forced to proc at times which are not optimal. The other possibility I thought of is running just one copy of subdue. If I was playing lots of miracle rogue I would swap both secrets out for two copies of subdue. This way I have a way to deal with questing or Edwin.

posted a message on NEW LEGEND PURE PALADIN THAT WORKS

It's because no matter how you build pure paladin if you don't draw specific cards at the right time you lose the game. You must draw into healing on curve as aggro. You need libram reductions into libram of hope etc. Vs other decks you must draw consecration or you lose. The deck has very little card draw and the deck has specific cards that are required to answer certain things. It's not a deck where 5 or 6 cards in the deck can answer the wide majority of threats. It's you must have this particular card or you lose the game (which is also why highlander paladin doesn't work, since you just have less of the particular card you need and zephyrs isn't enough to substitute it).

I will try this version but after I think I am going to try -2 bronze explorer + 2 underlight angling rod (still draws a card but gives you tempo) and - dragonrider 1 ancestral guardian for +2 imprisoned sungill. You just need that early game I think. I am at 2.4k legend right now and fully expect to be in the absolute dumpster soon lol. The difficulty I have with the dragon package and no underlight angling rod is dealing with early game aggression. I am not even sure about having two aldor peacekeeper.

I mean right now it feels like there is absolutely no way to beat DH unless you go aldor attendent into hand of adal. The trouble with this deck is no early game and you just lose if you don't draw specific cards in a specific order. This is the problem with every single pure paladin deck. If you had imprisoned sungill there may be some way to fight back in the early game.

Removing libram of hope and lady liadrin is an interesting idea. I am not sure about the dragon package. Bronze explorer and dragonrider are pretty bad cards according to stats. There may not be better choices and bronze explorer does give you resources which is nice. I feel like this deck could use a handbuff though. I think you are right about libram of wisdom being a bad card. It can be in your hand and absolutely useless in the early game.

highlander hunter isn't that strong compared to DH.

....you do realize highlander hunter has had a higher win rate then DH ever since their second nerf?

Not in D4+ ranks. Hsreplay win rates and tier list are just wrong.

Aggro DH will still smash HL Hunter, it's just they won't do it on turn 4 as often. They still will but mostly they will actually have to play to turn 7 or 8. You auto win vs HL hunter simply by playing battlefiend + sidekick or satyr + sidekick. They have no answer so they just lose. The complainers will be the bad DH players who are stuck in low diamond who won't be able to adjust. They are out in force right now trying to hit legend before their nerf.

What you need to be worried about are the spell druids, not the hunters. Hunter is an expensive deck. Spell druid plays itself. Very easy, guaranteed legend.

posted a message on Why Spell Druid Is Not Tier 0, God Tier?

Spell druid is completely busted in legend. The stats show it only loses to aggro DH and pirate warrior. It has at least even matchups vs everything else. So basically it only has a bad matchup vs aggro DH (like every other deck in the game except warrior). Aggro DH only loses to enrage/egg warrior and to a lesser extent control bomb warrior. The proof is in the stats. It's an unbelievably oppressive deck and the reason it's not god tier is only because aggro DH beats. Otherwise, it would be unstoppable. It's such a huge portion of the meta, second only to DH. Give it a couple of weeks and druid will likely be well known as a tier 1 deck, which is a shame because it's such an unfun deck to play and to play against. One reason spell druid may not be seeing the results it should be seeing is some people keep running junk in their decks.

posted a message on Which of this cheap highlander decks you think is more viable?

The hunter deck is more viable. Paladin may be cheaper to build but it doesn't have a viable highlander list. Your hunter deck can win games just by having dragons and lots of smorc.
