posted a message on Warlock players rejoice! D5-Legend deck

I tried something like this but got only a 53% win rate (but in two games I made big mistakes) but that deck ran zephyr and alexstraza. The issue was you had two dead cards then in your deck. I also ran sac pac to not die as well as nether breaths etc. So it was more a control lackey warlock. It felt a bit clunky. Instead you seem to put a lot of early game minions which would help control the board and maybe that means you don't need all the healing since your opponent is going to have to trade with you instead of going face.

One thing that always did bother me about galakrond warlock was how zephyr was just a dead card until the very very late game.

DH needs a buff. a 6 mana 10/6 which is dormant for two turns and does 10 immediate damage is too slow when the opponent is dead on turn 7. This should cost 4 mana so it sees play.

Before nerf, SacPact has almost no use (since beta it was played in two maybe three standard decks). After nerf it has literally no use and it's yet another dead Warlock card in his classic set...

Gala warlock is so weak right now that you need to run two sac pacs still to not die.

How does the deck deal with a priestess because sapping it seems unpalatable. It seems instead of running fan of knives and another SI 7 agent you rely on using your dragons to create tempo so that seems viable. The priestess though seems like it would just run the deck over. A turn 5 priestess you could sap and it will get to turn 7. I accept though scalerider would seem better than SI 7 agent, and you can use it turn 3 vs a satyr which is neat. You can also shadowstep fizz if it's not played on curve (or doesn't die) which is interesting. I wonder if you need preps in this deck because of fizz though reducing the cost of malygos? I could imagine instead of preps you could play something to help you control the board better in the mid game. Maybe fan of knives or siamet/maiev? Or flik to deal with something big and/or assassinate? Preps would make more sense if we ran edwin though.

DH is so overpowered that any random who makes HUGE mistakes can get high - mid legend with it. I just played a guy who played satyr into imprisoned observer when it was due to go off that next turn. Therefore, he just wasted it and played it for no reason since it auto dies. But nope lose anyway since he 7 damage to my taunts (after kayn was dead since he coined it out and wasted it) killing them while getting 7 damage on his weapon to go face for a total of 14 face damage while killing my entire board. A stupid retard who plays satyr into a second turn imprisoned observer wins. That mistake should be so game ending that it should be auto concede but nope, not when you play DH. In DH you can waste cards and get high legend.

Regarding Nozdormu the Timeless: I think it is an interesting card in the current aggro-focused meta. A Tempo DH or a Face Hunter will not have the resources to deal with an 8/8 body at turn 5 (unless of course they can ignore it and kill you) and won't be able to take full advantage (if any) of having 10 mana next turn given that their decks are full of low cost cards.
Oh and it should also be fine against Rogue, their whole deck can be played at a cost of 0- or 1-mana anyway ;)

I think it should give you the 6 mana crystals to play afterwards.

Well I tried first game vs DH he plays two blazing battlemages, battlefiend and umberwing. I play corsair cache then anchar with dreadcorsair. I get a parashute brigand too. he just kills my stuff with eye beam while healing keeps board and I am down to 14 hp before I have even played turn 4. You must have been pretty lucky to not lose a single game when you're dead on turn 5 vs DH. Killing them by turn 7 is pretty slow in a meta where you're dead on turn 5. Anyway I will try it out more. Maybe I just got unlucky.

Edit: Aside from being on the coin every game I have ever played this deck, priest seems unbeatable since all they have to do is play a minion and you lose. Rogue should in theory be beatable but they seem to just highroll ancestral guardian off pharoah cat. I could see how this could be a good deck if you get lucky and have a good run but I don't see how it beats warrior, priest or demon hunter. They get taunts/heals or do more damage than you do.

I am sure people are going to be winning with this deck at gold or something but this seems like outside of getting lucky vs D1 -5/legend players you're going to just be losing. It's just too slow to kill someone by turn 7. By then warrior has healed for 20. Priest has impenetrable taunts up or DH has killed you. I mean DH can play satyr on turn 3 and you're done basically.

I suspect what is going on is this deck is REALLY bad on the coin. As in absolutely hot garbage on the coin and pretty decent when going first. So if you get a good run where you are on the coin you might find you get no losses. If you are on the coin you are probably going to lose most people.

It may be interesting to compute how long 30HP lasts.... :P~~~

For a basic deck where 1mana gives 1/1 or 1 dmg,

if your oppo does absolutely nothing,

after 3 turns of play there should be 6/6 worth on broad, with 2+2 = -4 HP

    4 turns 10/10, 3+4+3 = -10HP

    5 turns 15/15, 4+6+6+4 = -20HP

    6 turns 21/21, 5+8+9+8+5 = -35HP  = DEAD

so on this scale we can see how strong DH really is.

Well Atlruis hits face for at least a bit during most games but some games it can hit face for 10+ since DH have 0 mana spells (the first cast should be 1 mana and the second 0 mana). So they have an aoe board clear which hits face at the same time which is basically unbeatable. DH has too many nut draws. It's not just the 4 into 5 nut draw. It's the just having altruis and cards to use it with nut draw. Or the weapon/adept/metamorphisis nut draw. There is absolutely no way to out heal the damage the deck can deal unless you play warrior and even then egg warrior isn't really out healing it, it's actually racing.

Why does it matter? You're dead on turn 6 or 7 playing shaman anyway. There is no point nerfing anything until they nerf DH. Hell sac pac should have been buffed!
