    Frustration is understandable.

Entitlement as a reaction is not.

posted a message on Wild SECRET Odd Paladin Deck

Since I droppped Commander Rhyssa with packs, I also tried to build something similar.

I didn't playtest extensively, but so far, and your own videos prove it, Secrets may be an interesting inclusion for Odd Paladin, but Commander Rhyssa herself is useless more often than not.

I think a Seal of Champions is generally much more impactful than Rhyssa.

posted a message on For people who think Casual sucks...

Essentially, people have different conceptions of 'fun', but everyone thinks that their fun is more important than that of the others.

Meme players who get tilted because they couldn't trigger their meme in time should ask themselves whether they actually want to play against a real opponent who is trying to play their own game, often implying a victory on their side.

I also get tilted sometimes when the tier-S deck gives me a "thanks" after winning a game in Casual, but that's beyond what one SHOULD play in the mode. Or in any mode entirely.

Pushing the 'play' button against a random player in any mode implies accepting that the foremost priority of both sides is victory, and anything else is just optional. Failing to understand this leads to self-made salt.

Nobody in this game holds any moral authority within the game rules, so trying and embodying any is pointless, and often pathetic.

PS: the very meaning of meme deck/card is that of something wacky and possibly powerful that is not reliable enough to be played consistently. So how can one expect a meme to be reliably played against a random opponent is beyond me.

posted a message on Here's a 900 dust deck.. can you add good cards and make it work?

I think you should consider Radiant Elemental, Wild Pyromancer, Acolyte of Pain.

If you can afford expensive cards, Shadow Visions is a Priest staple, and at that point you might want to consider Deathlord, and possibly 1x Circle of Healing/Divine Hymn.

Cheers for homebrewing with Priest in Wild. It's quite uncommon nowadays...

posted a message on Odd paladin vs Mech hunter

If the question is exclusively between those two, I would suggest Odd Paladin, because it is more consistent than Mech Hunter, while competing roughly in the same archetype.

In general, I would advise to consider other factors, including fun/variability, and your real involvement with Aggro/Token archetypes, beyond the mere performance factor.

ie you could grow tired/bored of those decks pretty fast.

Because this is how they build a public excuse to give Priest broken cards in the next expansions...

posted a message on Is Cyclone Mage the best deck in the game?

This is an OT now, but...

Too many fail to see the upside of generated spells: you need SKILL to play them OPTIMALLY, adjusting what you get with what you need is far from easy, or a mere highroll.

    1. Yogg-Saron, Hope's End is highroll.
    2. Shadow Essence is mostly highroll (made consistent by the rest of the deck, but that's another story)
    3. Babbling Book/Mana Cyclone are also highroll, but they are also much more, because their product costs mana, and requires planning, otherwise it's just a Tempo loss. I mean, let's face it, how consistent can it be a Pavel victory with them?
    4. Magic Trick is only partly highroll, for the most part it's SKILL (to choose the optimal option, and cast it at the right time).

Calling "highroll" anything that includes a random part is reductive and dismissive. It's not a real argument.

When the impact of random effects is not immediate, and requires further steps, involving some decision-making, you can't call it just "highroll" and dismiss it as unfun.

    • Random casting (full highroll) =/= Random generation (partly highroll)

Because it's actually fun to find a way to produce random stuff and make them useful.

And Random generation is fully balanced, because it's still fully bound to the rules of the Mana.

Otherwise we should point out that Card Draw is also random, and we fall into the topos of any card game being a coin flip. Which is obviously a wrong simplification of reality.

Mmh, I'm sorry about that but... up!

I think this thread deserves a little bit more attention. More than the recent sh1tstorm of repetitive nerf threads at least. :p

posted a message on Library Miracle Mage

Mimiron is an old option of TTK Mage, which is definitely improved by the new spells,, but i am not sure it would fit the Miracle archetype:

Mainly because Spare Parts from Mechs are efficiently generated, but they are nearly useless for survival purposes. On the other hand, you need those Mechs to die in order to unlock the Spare Parts, so you need additional Mechs for Mimiron. At that point, you risk the reliability of Miracles, because you should remove a relevant part of the Miracle engine, to replace with Mechs.

posted a message on Game of Thrones is disappointing

    "What do Dragons eat?"

    "Whatever they want" *challenging look*

This meme (calling it a scene would be too much) is basically the synthesis of the quality of last season(s) so far.

A whole giant micdrop that warps content and narration around it in order to drop the mic as loudly as possible...

posted a message on "Miracle Mage" as a deck Archetype

there are plenty of archetypes that have no fitting label on here, give it some time, if it sticks around it'll be added

Sure no pressure, but I'm asking now because it is quite established now, definitely in Wild, and increasingly in Standard.

I mean, we do have archetypes like "Murloc Mage" in the Deckbuilder, that honestly was never a lasting thing in the meta, however funny the idea could be, or "N'zoth Mage".

posted a message on "Miracle Mage" as a deck Archetype

After the introduction of ray of frost and magic trick, we have seen a new archetype of Mage growing up, that make use of sorcerer's apprentice, in burst with a series of cheap spells. The same archetype also has a Wild implementation, with Open the Waygate, but besides the additional powerburst with Time Warp, Wild and Standard Miracle Mage work pretty much in the same way.

This style is reminiscent of the old Miracle Rogue, and some players started calling this new kind of Mage as Miracle Mage. Personally I absolutely like the label, because it is the best description of the deck, both Standard and its Wild counterparts.

HOWEVER, here in Hearthpwn we do NOT have Miracle Mage as a deck archetype, when publishing a new deck.

Some went for TTK Mage, others opted for Tempo Mage.

But clearly the new Miracle Mage is neither, since it does not apply regular pressure (Tempo) nor is it limited to TTK (Alextrasza Mages).

So, I wanted to ask to the community and its staff:

Should we have "Miracle Mage" in the list of Mage archetypes of the Deckbuilder?

    I think we should.

posted a message on Is Cyclone Mage the best deck in the game?

If the Cyclone Mage is similar to Miracle Quest Mage (i believe it is), it may be the best deck around, but its popularity will never reflect its power.

As with old Miracle Rogue, these decks require quite a lot of skill in order to be consistent, and carry you through ranks.

Or, otherwise said, Miracle decks have a plan for nearly any situation, but they are quite unforgiving, regarding an ill-planned move.

So, even if good, or the best, i doubt they'll ever be popular.
