posted a message on Do you think miracle rogue will get nerfed in some way?

Kinda thinking of crafting Edwin VanCleef to complete a miracle deck but since blizzard tends to nerf things that people cry about I don't know if is worth it.

You guys think that we might see a nerf in the miracle deck?

posted a message on Anti-zoo Shaman Deck
    Quote from Sharpieman20 »

Hello, I was competing in the ZOTAC tournament tonight and I got to the 6th round. I was able to get to this round because I often won game 1 and lost game 2, allowing me to build a counter deck to theirs. However, in round 6, I won the first game and lost the second to zoo. As such I created an "Anti-zoo shaman" deck. However, I still lost to zoo. I was wondering if anyone had any good anti-zoo shaman lists to share, preferably something with around a 70% win rate vs. zoo. The reason why I am so fixed on shaman is that I have many of the shaman cards, and if I lose to their deck I can still play miracle rogue, my main deck. Thanks!

I have great success vs pretty much all decks even miracle rogues. I find it very easy to gain board control. It also has the potential to snowball very fast with unbound elementals.

You must learn to setup forked lightning. e.g when you hex something some times is better not to kill the frog just so you can use forked lightning next turn. I have many times killed a yeti and a frog with it.

You would think, but honestly it's fine because the curve is fairly high (factor all the overload into the curve as well). In my normal midrange version, I don't run Mana Tide, but just Thalnos/2xAzure Drakes. From some of the streamers that I've watched (Kolento, Strifecro, ThatsAdmirable), they also have lately skipped out on Mana Tide. I don't even feel like I could adequately protect the Tide anyway in this deck, where in midrange at least I have more board presence to protect it.

But you only have 1 azure drake...

I'm actually playing Ancestral Spirit shaman this season. I'm at Rank 3 with the following deck.

    Ancestral Spirit Shaman
Export to BBCode Export to Cockatrice Export to MarkDown Export to Html Clone this deck
    Minion (16) Ability (13) Weapon (1)
    Loading Collection

This deck will probably eventually evolve into a Reincarnation deck when Naxx hits, but the AS works fairly well, although it flips some matchups that normal midrange shaman excels in and does well in matchups where shaman normally is unfavored.

Ancestral Spirit synergy. There are 6 targets for Ancestral Spirit, up to 8 if you include the Faceless. Earth Elementals, Cairne/Sylvanas and Injured Blademasters (come back as 4/7s) are the ideal targets. Fire Elementals also work.

Baiting removal is perhaps the key to playing this deck. You need to bait out silences/Hex/Poly beforehand, or you can very easily get 2-for-1'd. For example, if you're playing a Druid, you really should never toss out an AS unless you have seen a Keeper. You can test for the silence with an Unbound or Cairne/Sylvanas. Since almost all shamans play midrange shaman, you can take advantage of your AS build by concealing the EEs and AS for as long as possible and preferring to play cards that a standard midrange shaman build would have. If you can force people to waste their silences, TBK/BGH and hard removal. Having a good knowledge of the meta and what cards are popular in different decks is very important.

Faceless is a very important card in this deck. Most importantly, it's a win condition in itself since if you can Faceless something that you used AS on, you get a ton of value. Even dropping a Blademaster, AS, then Faceless is great. You get 2 4/3s, and 2 4/7s for 10 mana. There's also the obvious EE/Faceless turn 10 play. Don't underestimate it though, think of it as dropping 2 Ironbark Protectors on 1 turn. The dream is Facelessing a Cairne, Sylvanas or EE after you AS them. This is harder to accomplish though because your Cairne, Sylvanas or EE has to survive a turn then you have to play AS and Faceless the following turn. The final synergy Faceless has is with Hex if your opponent puts out a big threat, similar to the BGH/Faceless play.

The final general tip before I get into matchups is that you need to play this as a control deck, not midrange or beatdown. You generally win by outvaluing and eventually making a huge tempo play with AS or Faceless after baiting out removal prior. There is no burst combo with Al'Akir or Doomhammer, no Flametongue (you won't generally have initiative until the late game).

Don't you got a problem with only 2 draws in the deck?

Well, the card can still be silenced by a minion, so is not like it can't be counter.

The point of the card is to force at least 2 trades with minions. Removing the bubble nullifies that.

Yeap, +1 extra mana cost for the "Can not be target by spells or hero powers" attribute.

If its to op make it a legendary so you can only have one in your deck...

7 mana with 4/5 health and divine shield.

The bubble is to prevent of removing it directly with AOE spells with spell damage all though is main purpuse is to stop deadly combos that ussually come at 7+ mana.

I wouldn't even mind if he had the "can not attack" attribute in it.

Purely a defensive minion that forces opponents to trade.

    Thoughts?

Is it just me that thinks this is a bit of a storm in a teacup?

2 mana up to 3 mana......meh, not that bothered. I play a beast only hunter when I do play hunter and use UTH more of a board clear than a finisher, although I have used it as a finisher when the opportunity arises.

People hate unleash, I get that, but they don't hate it as a solo card, they hate it when hunters have a Starving Buzzard, Timber Wolf, Leokk, anything else that buffs it. So basically, if this card gets combo-ed with 2 or 3 other cards its pretty potent, providing your opponent has a board full of minions. Comboing cards is pretty potent regardless of which class/set of cards, it should be.

"Well, they get a huge draw in turn 4 as well as minions on the board".....fair dos, so you play a rush deck?......."oh yeah, but UTH is unfair"......urm, check the forums and everybody talking about how much they hate rush decks maybe?........"No no no, its all the hunter's fault"........good argument.

"They use it in combo with Leeroy Jenkins and Timber Wolf and hit my face for ten bazillion damage"...........and rogues don't use Leeroy and cold bloods and stuff for big face finishers? Pallys using Leeroy and blessings?

Lets be honest, if you pile out a ton of minions against a hunter when you know they are more than likely holding unleash plus any combo cards then you probably deserve to die under the storm of teeth from a pack of baying hounds. It's about as suicidal and retarded as playing a Deathwing against a Priest on turn ten. "This is unfair!!! I sacked my entire hand and minions to get this card on the table and some OP priest Mind Controlled it. Nerf Priests!!!"

Come on, seriously, against different classes you need to play your game but adapt so they can't fire a ton of damage at you. Is hounds the problem or the person who filled the board with minions?

You can sit and tell me all the cards that combo well with hounds and you may have a point, but you're talking about 3, 4, 5 cards that make them so potent, why wouldn't any 3, 4, 5 card combo be potent?

It seems Unleash the Hounds is being used as a scapegoat and an easy thing to blame.

Yes it's annoying but no more annoying than a Paladin Equality, concecretion combo when you've got a board full of high health minions, or a Druid Force of Nature, Savage Roar combo if you don't have a taunt on the table. You could argue that the cost of the above combos is higher, and I'd answer that it is rightly so, both combos mentioned are unconditional, you can play them regardless of your board, hounds though, requires you to be stupid enough to fill your board with minions.

Yea.... none of those combos you mention clears your opponents board AND draws you a shit load of cards.
