I just want to point out that this is the first deck I can recall that goes for a true class card only archetype. Think about it for a moment. I've found it rather dull in the past when the majority of decks are running the same neutral minions, Dr Boom, Doomsayers, Cobalt Scalebanes, Bonemares, etc. The list goes on. It's actually rather refreshing, especially if you enjoy hunter has a class.

I actually would rather see the other classes see a similar treatment, future sets with larger class card pools and fewer neutral cards. Really forge that class identity.

Without Rexxar you will have next to zero chance against priest. Generally, I have found that a deck similar to this does very well against aggro and midrange tempo decks, but if when you come up against all the grindy priest decks(your toughest match up), you need Rexxar to win the attrition game.

If you want to go with something fitting to the source, I suggest "Marksmanship Hunter" or "Lone Wolf Hunter" as a reference to the WoW hunter talent of the same name which disables having a pet in exchange for a damage boost. Although I feel like "Wolf Hunter" will become ubiquitous thanks to all the Wolf tokens

Dire mole is the best addition. Amazing target for razormaw, and at long last 1/3 drop which can compete with mana wyrm/ void walker and not just die for free like fiery bat or cat.

That neutral 1 drop is increadibly huge, believe me.

Cheap weapon kinda great too, 1 copy might be staple in agressive build.

    Amazing cards overall

Don't forget the value of Hunter's Mark + Candleshot

Lets take a moment to take a step back and have a good overview of the new generally good all round cards hunters have at their disposal now, starting with the new reveals:

These 4 cards I see having a significant long term home in most hunter decks.

Candleshot finally gives hunters a decent 1 mana option to combat swarmy aggro decks while preserving your hp.

Cave Hydra serves as another option for fighting an early swarm and offering a solid body for follow up Houndmaster play.

Flanking Strike serves as a something hunter decks desperately needed, an alternative turn 4 option to regain board control and tempo.

And Lesser Emerald Spellstone which after just 1 upgrade makes for an incredible turn 5 option which can also force bait board removal from an opponent at the cost of a single card.

But the love doesn't stop there, introducing our new neutral friends:

Dire Mole and Cackling Razormaw just became BFFs. Something hunter has lacked desperately is a resilient 1 drop minion and despite it's vanilla body the synergy potential that early for hunter is a huge game changer.

Plated Beetle may find a home in the slower midrange decks as an option to help them survive against hype aggro that tries to burn you out asap. It having a deathrattle is also nice as you can dump it for tempo plays with corpse widow.

Honestly all hunter weapons should have immune, doesn't make sense to shoot a guy with a bow from 80 ft and somehow get injured.

I completely agree. In the WoW TCG hunters had the same mechanic called "Long Range". This mechanic would also address hunters biggest issue, a lack of healing. Often having to rely on an Eaglehorn Bow to clear out enemy minions would feel like a complete waste of a turn with how frail you feel playing hunter.

With the slew of lacklustre hunter cards previewed so far and the weapon yet to be revealed, figured brainstorming would be interesting. Hunters have been desperately lacking a good new weapon for a very long time so here is my take on an appropriate weapon for Hunter decks.

The 4 mana was chosen as it's generally the least varied mana slot for hunter decks, with hunters having good 3's already and expanding good options for 5's. Hunter's lack any real means of sustain especially if you rely on weapons for board control so the immunity effect helps with that. Also considered giving the weapon lifesteal for the same reasons.

The Deathrattle serves to synergise with the recent direction they want to push hunter decks while serving as a nostalgic throwback to the inspiration for the weapon while also not getting completely blown out with ooze effects. The card would be clearly very powerful and I also considered adding a "Cannot attack heroes" clause for balance while still retaining it as a tool for maintaining board control for hunters.

Something I'm uncertain about here how this is worded. It doesn't specify random on it, so does this mean we get to choose the animal companions summoned. Most cards with random effects specify random, although this doesn't state Choose on it either.

If that turns out you can choose to be the case this could do some dirty things if you can choose double Huffers for offence or double Misha for defence for a spell based deck shell. The deck building restriction sucks, I'm just uncertain how this card operates exactly
