As a Paladin player, I can confirm that it's strong when played at the right moment but it really sucks to pull this with knight on turn 1. OMY and savior are stronger in general.
It's a gimmick option for these few nostalgia-driven players. It's not supposed to have numbers that are even closer to standard or wild. And your idea defeats the purpose of Classic.
Sure, my suggestion would hurt the few "pure" Classic players but benefit a (supposedly) larger number of other players who want to play their old cards but don't enjoy Wild that much.
Classic is basically dead: based on numbers from hsreplay.net, the top5 most popular decks (last 7 days, diamond to legend) were played 182,000 times. The corresponding number for Classic is 6,050, that is, roughly 30 times less (I implicitly assume that the fraction of deck tracker users is similar across game modes).
One way to fix this would be to simply restart the cycle of set rotations!! Every month/season, a new expansion/adventure/mini set would be "released". So basically each month we could play a "new" standard meta from the past!! This would be beneficial for both players and Blizzard:
Players:
Lots of fun with old decks!
The meta never becomes stale as it changes every month
Increased value of the card collection
Blizzard:
Little maintenance required (they already figured out the "right" balance patches and know how to release "new" sets)
Newer players would buy more wild card packs/bundles!
Once the cycle reaches the current standard expansions, it would simply restart (that is, the most recent expansions are exclusive to standard).
Before the boars arrived, big/apm demons won me several games with with the right hero (Jandice or Hooktusk). Unfortunately, demons are quite underwhelming now...
There's even a term for that: ladder anxiety. At least I managed not to give a shit about my BG ratings and now I'm enjoying the game much more - if I don't like the heroes offered, I just insta concede and move on to the next game.

We're about to hit a critical number of players supporting this xD

I saw it too and it was quite mind-blowing!!

After playing quite a few games, I would suggest the following:
- Agamaggan to Tier 6
- Charlga only buffing (other) friendly Quilboars
- Dynamic Duo: lower stats
- Bristleback Knight: less health
- Bristleback Brute: +2/+2 for the first gem played.
I think with these changes, the tribe is still good but not op anymore.

Hmm, the point is to maximize the value from your lackeys:
In addition, if you run shadow step and have 10 mana, keep in mind that you can double kronx on the same turn.
Plan your hand size 1-2 turns ahead if you have Galakrond and the 4th invoker in hand.

Great job man! Even though this is not my main deck, I learned quite a bit from understanding your game approach :)
