There are two types of people:

Those who are able to use inference to derive understanding from incomplete sets of information and…

The way the card works does not line up at all with plenty of realistic options of what "stitch" could mean but I guess I must've not been there when the Stitchers of Bad Card Texts expansion was launched in 20XX. It's not like writing what cards actually do onto them is important in a card game, at least in the minds of Blizzard devs.

Unironically there's either some eldritch pact going on or the Hearthstone team can't be bothered checking the text of cards they made around the same time to be consistent.

posted a message on 28.6.2 Patch Notes - Balance Changes To Underplayed Cards and Meta Outliers - Bug Fixes & More

It only took 10 years for Blizzard to try buffing practically unplayable cards to potentially increase meta variety. Maybe in 10 more they'll find out they can do this before they're about to rotate into wild as well.

It is a step in a good direction that they're trying out not just buffing what tends to be the best 10% of class cards only. Too bad that pace of power creep has been going on for this long already.

So Trogg is just a Druid card with purple on it right? That one 6 drop isn't making Warlock ramp like Druid does so Warlock getting a ramp payoff without ramp sure is a design decision.

Shadow Word: Steal honestly feels like a card designed to make everyone hate the game or to actually get Priest removed as a class. Is Priest's class identity really just making people quit the game now?

You clearly have no idea how anything works so you come up with some magical conspiracy from Blizzard against you? Bro the servers don't account for animation delay, bots take their turn instantly. There isn't some magical deck detection matchup scuffer calculating how to ruin your day lmao.

Hearthstone is so badly made it can't handle having interesting cards in the game, I guess. Small indie company.

posted a message on Introducing Battlegrounds Duos!

Do you also blame Battlegrounds for the recent firings at Blizzard? The only way what you're saying makes sense if there are technical issues due to sharing a client, otherwise I don't see how a huge megacorporation that owns tons of games and franchises cannibalizes a game by having very different gamemodes in it.

The games are not seperated to pull players from eachother from the card & character crossovers, as well as events, so people who play one are way more likely to try out the other.

While I agree with the sentiment I disagree with most of the cards you've used as examples and I also think there's a second component that relates to deck design.  There's no more skill using Brawl than any other board clear, and arguably brawl is one of the more powerful ones which will always be relevant regardless of minion powercreep.

Using board clears as an example, a bigger issue is the number of board clears available and the number of cards which build a board in one go.  There's no more "holding minions to play around the clear". You just vomit them down and if they have a clear, you create a new board next turn.  Paladin and totem shaman are the perfect examples of this.  Equally, just because the opponent has already used their two clears doesn't mean there aren't a bunch more.  Priest has potential for something like 8 board clears and if they got a proper win condition the deck would be clears + whatever was required for the new win condition.

Regarding synergy between cards, the way they are designed you basically just stick all of the "synergy cards" in your deck and flesh out the rest with whatever overpowered cards remain.  Odin warrior is basically draw, armour and clears.  The new excavate cards are probably going to be the same given how overpowered the legendary excavations seem to be, and dragon druid basically requires all/most of the new dragon cards.

p.s. Identity theif is (imo) one of the more thoughtful cards in the game - not about when you play it, but what you pick to best support your gameplan (or disrupt the opponent if you're running The Harvester of Envy).

p.p.s there's also too many OTK's and too much draw now in my opinion.

This! There's practically only forced synergy now in the game, rather than more natural types of synergy. Cards just scream "play me with those other 5!" at you rather than working with a broader set of cards and making you use your creativity for deck building.

It feels like if they made doomsayer today it would read "At the end of your turn, destroy this minion and all frozen enemy minions" or something like that rather than naturally synergizing with freezes and allowing counterplay.

And then everyone is always angry about manacheat and things like that but that is only really as overpowered as it is because the value of cards (drawing & generating) has practically reached 0 for most classes. Meanwhile powercreep means removal must be increasingly ridiculous leading to 1-2 mana hard removal cards being in the game.
