posted a message on duplicate protection question

I don't know what you mean exactly, but when you disenchant a card the game sees it as if you already collected it. When I disenchant all copies of a nerfed common there is no more duplicate protection for these cards. Even if you have all commons in the set, you will have to get these disenchanted cards randomly. This way you can't disenchant a nerfed card, open a pack to get new copies of this card guaranteed and then repeat this process.

I imagine this rule doesn't count for the 'undo' button though as it is basically a disclaimer.

posted a message on Is it worth buying the tavern pass instead of the pre order ?

The tavern pass gives the average, invested player about 2000 extra gold/20 packs and some nice extras. It's probably one of the best deals in the game, but it requires you to play the game everyday.  You don't get these packs immediately though.

posted a message on New Expansion -- Buy or not to buy?

The cards seem pretty boring to me up until now, and the power level also seems pretty low. I haven't bought anything hearthstone related in a long while because I find the prices absurdly high. It might seem worth it right now, but at any point in time you wil eventually get bored of this game and drop it. For 40$  I can go in the playstation store and buy any game AAA game I want, instead of gettin like 3 worthless cards.

Everyone will be granted the golden basic cards at rotation because they will remain uncraftable. As such, you won't be able to disenchant any golden basic cards you already have.

Upon rotation everybody will receive the normal core set cards for free. By leveling up your classes you will now gain (temporary) golden versions of these core cards instead of the old basic cards. If you have all classes at level 60 upon rotation, you will have two copies of all core cards(normal and golden). You can't disenchant these golden core cards.

You are mistaken, on both accounts.

    • You can disenchant these cards if you want.

Written after a point reference both Basic and Classic cards. Furthermore it was said Golden versions of cards will be rewarded not for levels but for achievements like the class achievements we have for Madness I am guessing.

No, basic cards will remain uncraftable and free for all players. They're not giving out 14000 in free dust to everyone.

posted a message on Warrior, Warlock and Shaman - Revert reveal soon!!

Maybe they will revert part of the Galakrond package for shaman.  Otherwise, this archetype will be dead when it rotates to wild

Alternatively, they could put Spirit Clawsback at 1 mana.

posted a message on Unpopular opinions/hot takes galore

The collection aspect of Hearthstone is sometimes better than the gameplay itself.

I love collecting things and making progress. The feeling of getting a legendary remains as awesome as the day I first started playing. If they just handed out legendaries and epics to everyone, that feeling would surely be less thrilling.

posted a message on Art direction in Hearthstone

The art style has been the same for many years, I agree with the cards that you listed. The new dragons look really generic and boring. Though, in a way the art style sets hearthstone apart from other card games like LoR or Magic. I think this is an important reason why hearthstone succeeded, and the original WoW cardgame failed. Hearthstone is aimed at a casual audience, while most card games aren't.

I do agree however that some cards, like the ones you mentioned, took this a bit too far.

posted a message on Opinion on book of heroes

First of all, I want to say that I appreciate the free single player content the devs are putting out.

However I hate the fact that I have to grind through two hours of boring and repetitive missions just to get a single pack. I like the lore aspect of it, but does anybody even enjoy the "challenges" themselves. I wouldn’t even really call them challenges, especially this time around. The fights in the rogue book of heroes are literally scripted. For example, Cho'gall always has Twisting Netheron turn 8 and C'Thun on turn 11. There is so little skill involved, and I feel like this has worsened as more book of heroes chapters came out.

With the new Forged in the Barrens expansions, it seems like Blizzard want to "continue" the book of heroes in a different way. I was wondering what you guys think about this. To me it seems like their just poor quality adventures to sell hero skins and packs.

Awesome entry animation as well. I try to fit in many dragon decks but it's just a terrible card lol.

I like the new versions better. The older ones were too costly and too situational. Sure if you can find a way to cheat out Malgyos, it was nice, but this will be useful in way more decks as it replenishes your hand with spells and is a fantastic topdeck card.

This version of Deathwing is MUCH BETTER as you don’t have to lose your ENTIRE HAND.

And with Ysera, you were lucky to have it on the board for two turns at the most. There’s hardly ever a scenario where you maximize its potential. With the new version you are guaranteed to get every single generated card to your hand immediately. This is invaluable. This also means you can create an endless loop by returning it back to your hand and playing it again next turn....

The Dream card is being reworked so that you can't go infinite with the new Y'sera. It can now only target enemy minions.

I will probably be buying the small bundle, unless the revealed cards are really underwhelming.

posted a message on Tickatus is good or bad for this game because...

It's not only about the winrate and effectiveness of the card. Tickatus burning half your deck is probably one of the worst experiences a player can have. It's just not fun for the player on the receiving end, and the card just reinforces the rock paper scissors gameplay in standard right now. It should only be able to discard 5 cards in a match.

Rin, the First Disciple is a better designed card IMO.
