Peter Whalen confirmed that this is a normal discover with a "Mystery Choice" added on the end (which is any random spell from your class). Seems pretty good as a 3 Mana 2/3 "Battlecry: Discover a Spell, if they all suck pick a different one."

posted a message on Quacak's Rastakhan's Rumble Review

Hey everyone! I decided to go through and rate all of the cards for the upcoming 'Rastakhan's Rumble' set. I've done this in the past, but have never posted one before, and thought I'd give it a shot. I'm by no means an expert on card reviewing, or an expert player, but I thought this would be a lot of fun to look back on in a few months. I hope you enjoy!   -Quacak

What do each of my ratings mean?

    - Extremely underpowered card that actively brings down the winrate of decks that you put it in. Isn’t good even if you build a deck completely around it. Total pack filler. Will never see play.

(Ex. Magma Rager, Priestess of Elune)

⭐⭐- A low-power card that exists to fill a niche in an under-played archetype. Works well in addition to other cards, or works if your deck is completely built around it. Sees niche constructed play, but ultimately fails to make an impact.

    (Ex. Lightwarden, Ancient Watcher)

⭐⭐⭐ - A solid card that performs well in 2 or 3 different deck archetypes, or is a competitive card in a specific Tier 1 or Tier 2 deck. Works well on its own, or as a combo-enabler with other cards. Powerful tech cards fit into this category. Sees a good amount of constructed play.

(Ex. Wild Pyromancer, Dread Corsair, or Blood Knight)

⭐⭐⭐⭐ - A powerful card that sees play in a wide variety of top tier decks, or serves to build a Tier 2 archetype. Powerful on it’s own, and even stronger with other good cards. Sees frequent play in the meta.

    (Ex. Bloodmage Thalnos, Doomsayer)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐- A meta-defining card that sees play in every deck that it can possibly fit in. Makes an archetype good on its own, or carries an already-existing archetype to the top. Completely insane.

(Ex. Leeroy Jenkins, Patches the Pirate)

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - A card that breaks the game. Will be complained about frequently and warrant a nerf within the first month of it seeing play. A smear on Blizzard’s reputation and horribly designed. This rating isn’t given as a joke about how “crazy a card is”, this card actively ruins the game while it’s around.

(Ex. Corridor Creeper, Small Time Buccaneer)

    Druid:

    Commons:

    Pounce

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Probably the strongest Attack Druid card in the set. Won’t make Attack Druid good on its own, but more cards like this could make it a thing. Might see play in Mecha’thun Druid.

    Ironhide Direhorn

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Will see play in Big Beast Druid and fade out pretty dang fast.

    Savage Striker

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments:  Will be tried out in Attack Druid, which will be found out to be trash. At its worst it’s a 2/3, which is why it’s a 2 Star rating.

    Rares:

    Mark of the Loa

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Could probably work in a Midrange Druid deck. I think the current Druid decks will not run it, but this could totally see play after the rotation. Definitely a card to keep an eye on, later.

    Spirit of the Raptor

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: A very, very strong card in Attack / Odd Druid. Like, really strong. I’d rate it higher, but Attack Druid isn’t going to work, and this card won’t see play unless Druid gets a Midrange Deck (which isn’t better than what they have now). Will see play in Brian Kibler’s Odd Druid, and that’s about it, although it’s a card to keep an eye on after rotation.

    Predatory Instincts

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: A 3 star rating for this card is very generous, but I think it will see play as a 1-of to tutor for Hadronox in Taunt Druid. It’s really not the worst card ever, it’s just not on the ‘Druid Power Level’ that we’ve come to expect. Cool design and very well balanced overall.

    Epics:

    Treespeaker

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Treant Druid is nowhere near playability, but this is a great card for that deck. This card won’t make that deck work on its own during this rotation, but it will be very strong if more Treant cards are released, or once rotation comes.

    Stampeding Roar

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Big Beast Druid isn’t going to work, although this really isn’t too bad of a card. I’ll definitely try it, but if you’re playing big beasts, why not just ramp?

    Legendaries:

    Gonk, the Raptor

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: People are severely under-rating this card. Yes, I realize how much of a meme Attack Druid is, but getting unlimited attacks with a class that has tons of healing cards really isn’t that bad. Insane with the Druid DK, and on turn 7 with the card, Pounce. Will probably make a Midrange Druid deck on its own, and will be an insane inclusion in Odd Druid. It probably isn’t deserving of 2 stars, but I’m giving it 2 anyway due to the amount of unnecessary hate he’s getting. I love you, Gonky-boy.

    Wardruid Loti

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: This just seems like a slightly cooler looking Druid of the Scythe. Will see play in decks that would run Druid of the Scythe, but I doubt much else. People are really over-rating this card.

    Hunter:

    Commons:

    Headhunter’s Hatchet

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Around Glaivezooka powerlevel in exactly Midrange Hunter. Will probably see play this expansion, and will only get better as more Beasts are printed. Very strong in theory.

    Baited Arrow

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Will be tried out in Spell Hunter and slowly fall off. Maybe as a tech card 1-of?

    Springpaw

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments:  Will see play in Midrange Hunter, albeit not much else. Solid in Beast Midrange Hunter.

    Rares:

    Spirit of the Lynx

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Maybe if you really want to play a lot of small beasts? I doubt it.

    Revenge of the Wild

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Will be a good “board-swing” card in Deathrattle Hunter, and that’s about it. Not bad by any means, but won’t see play outside of that deck unless the meta is extremely slow, which is doubtful.

    Bloodscalp Strategist

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Seems a little bit tricky to pull off, but might see some play in a weapon-based Midrange Hunter. Turn 1 beast into Turn 2 Hatchet into Turn 3 Strategist might be pretty crazy. I definitely won’t be underestimating this card.

    Epics:

    The Beast Within

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Giving a Beast +1/+1 and Windfury is a very strong effect, although this card seems a little bit too low-impact to see frequent play.

    Master’s Call

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: The card that will allow a ‘Beast-only’ Midrange Hunter to be a thing. Absolutely insane.

    Legendaries:

    Halazzi, the Lynx

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Will be a niche inclusion in Midrange Hunter at best, although he’s absolutely broken with the Hunter Quest. Will see play somehow, I’m just not sure how yet.

    Zul’jin

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Will see play in Spell Hunter as an insane power-level card, similar to pre-nerf Yogg. Yogg and Load is back, boys. Minus Astral Communion.

    Mage:

    Commons:

    Elemental Invocation

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Innervate for Elemental Mage...which sounds pretty crazy in theory. There aren’t many big Elementals you can cheat out in Standard, so I’m leaning more that this card will see no play, but this seems pretty broken in Wild. Maybe this is broken? I’m just not seeing it.

    Daring Fire-Eater

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Will see play in Big Spell Mage alongside Jan’alai as a pseudo-Frostbolt. Solid card.

    Arcanosaur

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments:  Really good after playing Jaina, this just seems really bad otherwise, though.

    Rares:

    Scorch

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Wing Blast never saw much play, and this is a worse version (most of the time) of that. Very doubtful.

    Spirit of the Dragonhawk

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Will see play in my Wild Even Mage. Which doesn’t make this card good.

    Pyromaniac

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Very strong on paper. Will see play in Odd Mage (at least at the very beginning) if that becomes a thing. I like this a lot.

    Epics:

    Splitting Image

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Very strong, I’m just not sure Standard has the tools to make this work yet.

    Blast Wave

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

    Comments: Laughably bad.

    Legendaries:

    Jan’alai the Dragonhawk

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Will single-handedly make Odd Mage a thing this expansion. Absolutely insane effect that will happen on turn 7 or 8 a good chunk of the time. I love this card and can’t wait for all of the Ragnaros compilations from moments at Blizzcon.

    Hex Lord Malacrass

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Might see niche play in Control Mage. Otherwise, seems pretty terrible. Cool design at least?

    Paladin:

    Commons:

    Bloodclaw

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Although this is hard-pressed to see play in an Aggro meta, this card is absolutely bonkers in a large number of decks. Odd Paladin loves this, Aggro and Control Heal Paladin love this....it might not see a ton of play if Zoolock is super popular, but this card can single-handedly win you the game against Control decks.

    Flash of Light

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Shield Block for Control Paladin. Worse than Shield Block, but still pretty good.

    Time Out!

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: I was a little mixed about this card at first, but it seems pretty crazy in any type of Control Paladin. It’s terrible in Control versus Control matchups, but against Aggro this card is just insane. If Control versus Control is a big part of the meta, than this card won’t see play, but it’s a very legitimate tech card which warrants a 4 star rating.

    Rares:

    Zandalari Templar

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Seems like a bit of a pipe dream card, but might be pretty decent in Heal Paladin. I could see this card going either way, but the Heal Paladin support this expansion is pushing me towards saying this card is playable. If not now, after the rotation.

    Spirit of the Tiger

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Will be tried out in a lot of Control Paladin decks, only to fall off afterward. You have to try way too hard to make this card work. It seems pretty terrible.

    Fakkari Battleaxe

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Could legitimately see play in Standard Odd Paladin, which freaks me out a bit. It pains me to rate this card so good, but it just looks like an Odd Paladin card. Baku really needs to be nerfed.

    Epics:

    A New Challenger...

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Seems like Free From Amber, which only saw play because of Spiteful Summoner. I think this will see play in decks with Shir’vallah, but will eventually rotate out in favor of something else.

    Immortal Prelate

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: A very strong inclusion in Even Paladin. I like it.

    Legendaries:

    Shirvallah, the Tiger

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Will see play in Control Paladin, but isn’t the best card in the deck. Still very good, and will see play in every list, but Thekal is the real MVP here.

    High Priest Thekal

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: The whole reason to play any variant of Healing Paladin. Keleseth levels of strong in the right deck.

    Priest:

    Commons:

    Regenerate

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: I have no idea how, but this card is going to break the game in some way. 0 mana spells are all pretty crazy, and although I haven’t heard anyone freak out yet, this card will see play in a Combo / Miracle Priest of some type.

    Sand Drudge

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Will see play in a Spell Priest deck, but isn’t really an all-star.

    Seance

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments:  A legitimate tech inclusion in a Control Priest deck. Zola minus the 2/2 body. I can dig it.

    Rares:

    Mass Hysteria

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: A solid board clear in the spirit of Brawl for Priest. Seems good, and I’m inclined to complain about it on /r/wildhearthstone since it will probably see play in Big Priest.

    Spirit of the Dead

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Seems way too hard to make work. Maybe in a really late game Control Priest? This seems far too slow.

    Grave Horror

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Will see play in a Miracle Priest deck if that works in this meta. I’m leaning on the side of “No.”

    Epics:

    Auchenai Phantasm

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Auchenai / Circle combo just got a whole lot better. Plus, no annoying 3/1 body left over. Seems good.

    Surrender to Madness

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: You’re truly surrendering to madness if you play this card.

    Legendaries:

    Bwonsamdi, the Dead

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Curator levels of good. I think you play this in almost every Priest deck in the meta that plays 1-drops. Very strong.

    Princess Talanji

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: A tech card in a Control meta for Control Priest. Seems too difficult to make work, but maybe?

    Rogue:

    Commons:

    Serrated Tooth

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Insane with other cards in the set (namely Raiding Party), and pretty broken on its own. It’s even a weapon that synergizes with the Rogue Hero Power, how about that?

    Stolen Steel

    General Card Rating:

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Not even good in Burgle Rogue.

    Walk the Plank

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments:  Good in Even Rogue, which will slowly decline as the meta goes on. Seems worse than Vilespine.

    Rares:

    Bloodsail Howler

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Very good in Wild, but too slow in Standard. If Pirate Rogue is crazy this might make the cut, but I doubt it.

    Spirit of the Shark

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Brann was a must kill card, and this effect IS pretty crazy. Not insane by any stretch of the imagination, but will definitely see play early on in the expansion, and see play in tons of crazy combo decks, which warrants a 3-star. One of the better spirits.

    Raiding Party

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Makes Pirate Rogue good on its own, and will force its way into other Rogue decks alongside Serrated Tooth and Southsea Deckhands. Very, very strong.

    Epics:

    Gurubashi Hypemon

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

    Comments: Boringmon.

    Cannon Barrage

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Bloodlust for Pirate Rogue, although it can miss and hit minions. Worse than Bloodlust, but it can also be Preparation’d out, so who really cares?

    Legendaries:

    Gral, the Shark

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Will see play in Meme decks in Standard with The Darkness, although it’s surprisingly decent in Big Rogue in Wild. If that deck works in Standard, sure, but I’m not seeing it.

    Captain Hooktusk

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: 8 Mana 6/3 Draw 3 cards is very strong, and the fact she puts them directly into the Battlefield is very strong as well. A powerful late-game finisher is something that Pirate Rogue needs, and this is exactly it. Very strong card.

    Shaman:

    Commons:

    Wartbringer

    General Card Rating:

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Way too much work for not enough pay off.

    Totemic Smash

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Works in Malygos Shaman, and seems pretty great overall.

    Rain of Toads

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments:  Pretty good in Control Shudderwock / Even Shaman, and will probably see a lot of play in general. Severely underrated by the community, as a 6 Mana 6/12 with Taunt is pretty dang good. I’m not sure what’s not to love about this card. Plus the art is amazing as well.

    Rares:

    Bog Slasher

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Good, but doesn’t really have a home.

    Spirit of the Toad

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: I’m interested to see what deck actually wants this, but I think it will see at least some niche play. This is too good not to be experimented with in some way.

    Likkim

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: A Standard Even Shaman card. Not much else to say, other than I’m going to hate that frog a lot.

    Epics:

    Haunting Visions

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Preparation shoved onto a 3 Mana ‘Discover a spell.’ Will be a defining card in most spell-based Shaman decks until it rotates out. Very strong card.

    Big Bad Voodoo

    General Card Rating:

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Good to get off of Hagatha I guess? Why not just play ‘Reincarnate’?

    Legendaries:

    Krag’wa, the Frog

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: A very flashy card, but playable nonetheless. Won’t break the game, but is a decent inclusion in Midrange or Control/Malygos Shaman decks.

    Zentimo

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Might see some niche experimentation, but this already seems worse than Electra Stormsurge, which saw very little play.

    Warlock:

    Commons:

    Demonbolt

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Very interesting, and will be tried out in Zoo, but seems a little too difficult to pull off. Niche playable.

    Blood Troll Sapper

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Only good if used in an OTK, which sadly isn’t a thing yet in Standard.

    Reckless Diretroll

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments:  A strong card for Discard Warlock, and might see play if Soulwarden and Jeklik are good enough, although it looks very weak right now.

    Rares:

    Shriek

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Similar to Reckless Diretroll, and will only see play if Soulwarden and Jeklik are worth building around. Rated higher than Reckless Diretroll because of the AoE effect which could be useful in a Control Warlock.

    Grim Rally

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Seems pretty terrible. You don’t really want to be killing your own minions in a Zoo deck, and this isn’t good outside of that.

    Spirit of the Bat

    General Card Rating:

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

    Comments: Actually just garbage.

    Epics:

    Soul Warden

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: On the power level of Drakonid Operative. 6 Mana 6/6 “Battlecry: Draw three cards” with the upside of them not going towards Fatigue, seems pretty insane in Warlock. If the meta is right this card might even see some experimentation with Baleful Banker for infinite value in Control matchups. My only concern is if you have enough ways to discard cards, which, judging by Shriek and Soulfire, seem good enough.

    Void Contract

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Overkill against Combo decks. At least it’s thematic for the set. Will see play in Even Warlock as a terrible tech card against combo decks.

    Legendaries:

    Hir’eek, the Bat

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Much too hard to make work. Spirit of the Bat is too inconsistent, Arena Fanatic is bad, you’d rather just play Doubling Imp in Zoo. Will be played in meme decks before falling out of grace.

    High Priest Jeklik

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Will see play in the meta without synergy in Standard Even Warlock. Insane card, and gets even better if you discard it.

    Warrior:

    Commons:

    Devastate

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Execute was good enough that it had to be nerfed, so this really doesn’t seem all that bad to me. Will see play in any Tempo Warrior decks that pop up, but I don’t think they will break the game this expansion. Possible in Rush Warrior.

    Dragon Roar

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: A good card to put into Control Dragon Warrior decks, which will see a lot of experimentation. I’m not sure if this card is that great, but this will definitely be tried out.

    Overlord’s Whip

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments:  Very strong stats, although the downside is a bit too much. If this was a 4/2, we’d be talking.

    Rares:

    Heavy Metal!

    General Card Rating:

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: The exclamation point made me chuckle.

    Spirit of the Rhino

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Good in Tempo Rush Warrior, although I don’t think this will break that deck.

    Emberscale Drake

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: A solid 5-drop, but nowhere near good enough to make Dragon Warrior good enough on its own. Will see play in Odd Warrior alongside Smolderthorn Lancer and that’s it.

    Smolderthorn Lancer

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: The best card in Dragon Warrior, and will bring back the deck in Wild. Seems solid in an Odd Warrior shell, and will probably warp that deck to run the Odd Dragon package.

    Sul’thraze

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: A very powerful card for any kind of aggressive Warrior decks, and I love it. 16 damage for 6 mana is very powerful, and I think that this will see play in any Tempo Decks this expansion.

    Legendaries:

    Akali, the Rhino

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: A good late-game card in Rush Tempo Warrior, although it’s probably not even that great. Will see play in any decks running the Rush package, at least in a more Midrange build.

    War Master Voone

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Will be dropped from decks as soon as people realize that Odd Dragon Warrior is the way to go. Sorry you had to be nerfed, old buddy.

    Helpless Hatchling

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Probably a set-up card for a future set, although right now it’s absolutely helpless.

    Saronite Taskmaster

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: A very, very strong card in a pure Token or Tempo deck. I’m not sure which deck you play it in yet, but it’s very good. My first guesses are Tempo Warrior or Tempo Rogue, but could really go about anywhere. Definitely not a card to sleep on.

    Cheaty Anklebiter

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Would see play in Heal Zoo if it costed 1, although at 2 mana, it’s doubtful. 2 stars because it will probably see experimentation.

    Dozing Marksman

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Seems bad, although notably really good with the 1 Mana 1/3 in Warrior.

    Scarab Egg

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Might be playable in Aggro Token Druid, but seems pretty terrible.

    Sharkfin Fan

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Probably decent in a few decks, namely Tempo Rogue or Tempo Warrior, although it still seems pretty slow. Notably pretty good in Wild Token Druid. Will that deck finally be making a comeback?

    Spellzerker

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Surprisingly strong, and would probably beat Amani Berserker to see play in Aggro Mage, although that deck is pretty bad now.

    Banana Buffoon

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Really good with the Paladin and Mage quests, although seems pretty slow. Sorry, Lil’ Tyrant of the Vale.

    Ornery Tortoise

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Works in Midrange Hunter and Heal Paladin, so it might actually see some play...which is (shell) shocking to say the least.

    Arena Fanatic

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Really bad. Maybe niche in Shudderwock or Zoo?

    Arena Treasure Chest

    General Card Rating:

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Costs 4 simply because of Deathrattle Hunter, which is pretty funny to say the least.

    Half-Time Scavenger

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Seems very strong in Even decks, especially when compared to Plated Beetle. Might actually see a little bit of play.

    Regeneratin’ Thug

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Really cool but really bad.

    Rumbletusk Shaker

    Comments: Sticky, but bad.

    Ticket Scalper

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Strong in Pirate Rogue, and that’s about it. Seems good to me.

    Dragonmaw Scorcher

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Will see play in Odd Dragon Warrior, which is why it warrants 4 stars. Otherwise, pretty bad.

    Former Champ

    Sightless Ranger

    Comments: Good in Arena.

    Amani War Bear

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Will probably see play as a 1-of tech card in Recruit Hunter, warranting 3 stars.

    Rabble Bouncer

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Seems like it will be tried out and found to be too slow, but who knows? At least the art is cool.

    Mosh’Ogg Enforcer

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Will see play in Taunt Druid with Oakheart, warranting 3-stars.

    Rares:

    Belligerent Gnome

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: An Aggro tech card that can also be tech’d into Aggro decks. Seems bad.

    Booty Bay Bookie

    General Card Rating:

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

    Comments: Maybe in Mill decks?

    Firetree Witchdoctor

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Doesn’t really have a deck to go into. Dragon Tempo Warrior isn’t going to work, and it wouldn’t even have good spells for this thing to Discover. Maybe Priests would want to play this? 3 stars because I think this will see play in Control Priest and that’s about it.

    Serpent Ward

    General Card Rating:

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: One of the worst things I’ve ever seen.

    Shieldbreaker

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Actually a really interesting card, if only it costed an Odd amount of Mana for Odd Hunter.

    Soup Vendor

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Could legitimately see play in a Heal Paladin deck, but that will more than likely be an Odd deck. Cool nonetheless.

    Waterboy

    General Card Rating:

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

    Comments: Aggressively bad.

    Murloc Tastyfin

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Pretty good in Wild Mill Rogue, and might be able to squeeze in to Murloc Mage in Standard. It’s really not as bad as most people seem to think.

    Arena Patron

    General Card Rating:

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: The worst card of the set, hands down.

    Epics:

Comments: A really cool idea in theory.

    Drakkari Trickster

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: A legitimate tech card against “Infinite” decks such as Kingsbane, plus it comes with prime stats. Probably won’t see any real play, but 2 stars because the possibility is definitely there.

    Masked Contender

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐

Comments: Really good, and will see a ton of experimentation, but probably won’t see play in anything except Secret Hunter, which might eventually cut this.

    Untamed Beastmaster

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Could have been really good in Midrange Hunter...if only it had a Beast tag itself.

    Ice Cream Peddler

    General Card Rating:

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: My favorite card of the set, next to Gonk, the Raptor of course.

    Mosh’ogg Announcer

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Actually seems really strong to me, although it probably just gets hard-removal’d by spells in constructed, and doesn’t have Taunt. Could have been really good if Spells had a 50/50 chance to miss, too.

    Snapjaw Shellfighter

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments:  Good in Arena, plus it has cool art at least.

    Crowd Roaster

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: “Oh boy, more Odd Dragon Warrior cards, fun.”

    Linecracker

    General Card Rating:

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

    Comments: Awesome name.

    Legendaries:

    Griftah

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐

Comments: One of the best designed cards in the set, and will legitimately see play as a 1-of in Even Paladin, since a 4 Mana 4/5 “Battlecry: Draw a card” is good enough in that deck. Probably one of the most underrated cards of the set. You know what you’re giving your Opponent, they don’t know the card you have. Plus he’s an adorably shady troll. What’s not to love?

    Mojomaster Zihi

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: The holy grail of all Midrange decks until the end of time. Probably on the same level as cards like Loatheb, since it gives you extra turns that your opponent can’t do anything about. Very strong, and I’ll be shocked if it doesn’t see some kind of play in a Tier 1 deck.

    Da Undahtakah

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Seems very slow, and unlike Mecha’thun, doesn’t automatically win you the game when you play it. Seems bad.

    Oondasta

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Comments: Will see play in Deathrattle Hunter, an already Tier 1 deck, alongside a bunch of other ones. An extremely powerful card.

    Hakkar the Soulflayer

    General Card Rating: ⭐⭐

Rating of Card in Current Meta:

Comments: Hilariously bad. If this card sees any legitimate play in a Tier 1 deck during this expansion, I will be shocked.

posted a message on Tess Deck.

Doesn't look as bad as you'd think, considering it's a Tess deck. I'm confused as to why you're running Seaforium Bomber, as it doesn't have much synergy with the rest of the deck. 2x Academic Espionage also seems a little too greedy,  since you'll have to draw all of the cards from your deck in order to add them to Tess, so I'd remove one of them and add draw like Bloodmage Thalnos or Fan of Knives in order for more survival early on. As for other cutable cards, Zola seems a little too greedy, and Spectral Cutlass is very weak without buffs, but it depends on how you want the deck to function.
