Tahladnas posted a message on To those complaining about the new Standard format..Posted in: General DiscussionProffessor Doom. 7 mana 6/8, summon 3 Boom Bots that deals 2-3 damage when dies.Ben Brode: "This is not power creep because Dr Boom is no longer playable in Standard. We have policies about buffing old cards so we just create better ones once the old ones are rotated out. As far as Standard is concerned, there is no power creep. Wild Mode? What's that?" -

WhatAChamp posted a message on Why the consolation prize of "Wild Format" isn't going to be good enoughPosted in: General DiscussionLike a number of other players, I'm pretty distressed at the announcement of the new formats. I'm someone who loves playing gimmicky combo decks like OTK Shaman and Dreadsteed Warlock. For decks/tribes relying on specific mechanics spread over a few expansions to pull off combos, losing one of those pieces will mean your deck is useless in standard mode. So those of us who want to play decks like these have been given the Wild Format as a way to make up for it. Here's why it's still a problem.
Blizz's policy for nerfing cards is to add new cards to counter them, rather than actually nerfing. If cards like Undertaker and Warsong Commander still were too powerful after too long, they were then nerfed. A common card that people complain about is Mysterious Challenger. Blizz can now tell people that MC and pally secret in general is being nerfed because of the loss of Avenge, Shielded Minibot and Muster for Battle in Standard Format. Although this is true, the issue has not been fixed for Wild Format and secret pally can continue to reign supreme. Add to the mix the idea that Blizz will probably bring out some strong new pally cards to compensate for their loss, and paladin has gained even more strength in Wild Format.
Now the purpose of this is not to complain about secret paladin. Sure it's strong but it's not at Huntertaker levels yet. My worry, however, is that some decks will become broken beyond belief in Wild but be fine in Standard, leading to Wild becoming a cesspool that contains only 2-3 decks. Maybe Blizzard will keep Wild in mind when balancing, but I'm not too optimistic.
My second frustration is that certain decks will always remain playable because of key components belonging to the basic set (Combo druid, Control Warrior, Handlock) while other decks that rely on new mechanics or new tribes will completely disappear (Mech Shaman/Mage, Dragon decks eventually, Demonlock). The only way Blizzard can prevent this is by constantly releasing similar cards when they are retired, just changing the stats and names. Either that, or they'll just let some decks disappear while others stay intact forever. I find this to be an annoying way to deal with balance.
Sorry for the rant but as someone who loves messing around with a variety of decks, this news comes as a huge disappointment.

user-19518264 posted a message on Will you play Standard or Wild?Posted in: General DiscussionWild it is. I have quite a collection so I want to be able to use that. Also this is a huge moneygrab from Blizz...not sure if I wanna keep playing/supporting this in the future...

DragonConsort posted a message on Ok.They will ruin everything.Posted in: General DiscussionRuining everything is a bit much, but the warsong nerf was terrible (killed a free card), and Boom should have been nerfed a long time ago.

Shissan posted a message on Holy Crap FormatsPosted in: General DiscussionI have spend a lot of money on Hearthstone, and I don't like the idea of the Standard mode being the default. I'll be using the Wild format once it's live, and I'll play Standard once in a while. I don't like having limits, and not having access to some of my favorite cards in the game (Neptulon being one of them)

ThatJokersWild posted a message on Holy Crap FormatsPosted in: General DiscussionAm I right that every year we'll be racing to collect cards that will eventually be unusable in Standard? If so, why would anyone spend any money on card packs?

Skyblock124 posted a message on Does Dr. Boom Need to be Nerfed?Posted in: Card DiscussionI wish there was a,"This card needs a nerf, but not this brutally," option to click on instead of the second one. Really, just take away health from the Good Doctor himself and the card would be a lot more manageable. For Example, 7/4 battlecry: Summon 2 boombots. Now even a shredder can handle boom.

Setcamper posted a message on Why I feel happy with Aggro-stonePosted in: General DiscussionI like the variety in decks. If you think the meta is too aggo, where were you during the facehunter/zoo lock era? It's nice to see a matchup start up and I have to guess what archetype my opponent is playing instead of just knowing because that class has only one viable option.

EchelonHD posted a message on why is everyone playing zoolock now?Posted in: General DiscussionQuote from SupaHotFire96 >>Please stop with this nonsense. ZOOLOCK IS NOT a hard deck to play. It's probably hard to master, but then again, just look at Warrior or Priest. Your excuses, like, "the positioning is hard", are lame. You need to know what? How will you position minions so you can buff taunt them later? Or is it hard to position dire wolf alpha?Stop it now.P.S.: I agree, it's harder than huntard or secret paladin.Zoo is incredibly difficult to play, IMO. As difficult to play as Oil Rogue. I don't think Zoo was always difficult to play and those who haven't played it in a while probably no longer understand the dynamics of the deck. Traditional Zoo is complete garbage. What makes Zoo difficult to play is the current meta. The one card that brought Zoo back is Dark Peddler. Then we add Brann Bronzebeard to the mix. Dark Peddler is a very tricky card and it is basically what keeps the deck competitively viable against many popular matchups like Priest. It's not only about what card to pick but when to drop it as well. Traditional SMOrcy ways of playing Zoo are no longer effective a lot of the time.I read about Zoo all the time on Hearthpwn and threads like the ones about bad matchups for Zoo pretty much indicate to me that the current version of Zoo is probably one of the most misplayed decks in the meta. I've never felt that about any other decks. - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.

They aggro better than hunters too.

So your problem with arena is that the RNG in the draft is no longer compensating so heavily for shitty play? Cry me river.

These are bots, they are being used to grind out a few cards/gold, then the account is sold. Because the world can afford to waste energy/resources like this right? Worse than crypto, it's enough to make you cry into your cornflakes.

Younglings don't remember the previous two Mega-hunter metas.
- Undertaker Hunter, tier S deck.
- Face Hunter, top of tier 1 deck.
Also there have been multiple metas where hybrid hunter and mid-range hunter have fluctuated from tier 1 to tier 2.
Personally I like deathrattle hunter...its the slowest successful hunter deck we've seen, it has some really cool combos and it's full of flavour.
Emerald spellstone though, that card is just poorly designed, the pay off too high and too early at turn 5 if you mulligan with luck. High roll cards that come into play too early suck for everyone, and reduce the skill in the game.
Aggro hunter is always bad for the game, but sadly its consistantly been hte deck blizzard seems to want new players to use, as its so cheap. Either that or some kind of aggro paladin. Pay-to-have-fun sucks.

Build something yourself...sub rank 10 almost anything I throw together works in wild - Mechwarrior with all the GvG card +boom was a laugh. Shaman with every good overload card + sepllstone and the overload unlockers. Beast druid with menagerie wardens for copying. Reno legendary warrior with 20/30 cards legendaries....the possibilities are endless.
The cool thing about wild is when a new exapansion comes out, you can take the bad cards from it that are waiting for stanard synergy and get it immediately with old cards to create some fun thats powerful enough to win plenty of games. Never dust anything and treat wild as the true casual/meme mode in the game. Don't worry about climbing too high, once you starting hitting all the try hard big priests and mill rogues it's time to go back to arena.

I don't really watch streamers though, I just play because I enjoy it. I don't really care about the pro scene either.
