I got about 5 or 6 legendaries last month, but this month I've been lucky to get more than 40 dust. I'd say that comes out to be about average.

Sinti posted a message on How to get extra free* rewards from Hallow's End event?Posted in: General DiscussionHow to get extra free* rewards from Hallow's End event:
- Start an arena run before 24th when u know u wont be finishing that anymore.
- On the 24th, the run will be retired, u will get rewards for 0 wins, which is a KFT pack (100g) + like 20 dust, and a Free Arena TIcket (150g). You could play out your run until u hit 2 losses (before the 3rd loss would end the run) to get even more rewards, but that will require time spent on playing ;-)
- Profit!
This is amazing for anyone who would spend those 150g on arena anyway, but its also good for anyone who hates arena, since u will at absolutely very least get 2 KFT packs (+some minor amount dust) for just 150g. Get your free* stuff ppl! :)
- Note: Many ppl dont seem to realize, that if u do this, u will have TWO Arena Tickets on the 24th (the tickets stack, dont worry, u can have more than one at a time). One from your retired run and one from the promotional part of the event. U will get two Arena tickets from the event itself, one for each week, so with this "method" u will get three Arena Tickets in total over the course of the event, u will not lose anything, u will not "pay 150g" for the pack if u do this, u will get extra stuff, if u do this. I hope its clear now to everyone ;-)
- Yes, the Arena Tickets do stack (Frost Festival experience confirmed it and mods on official forum as well:
https://playhearthstone.com/en-us/blog/21098847/ha-ha-happy-hallow-s-end
*disclaimer: u do have to have the initial 150g investment to do this, so keep that in mind! ;-)
I know many of u will realize this on your own, but some might not, so lets remind them. Free stuff is always nice, isnt it ?:)
Edit: It worked, yaay ... who knew, right?;-))))
Btw dont forget to log in on other servers beside your main (Asia, EU, US), u will get free ticket and packs there as well ... if u want to save your arena tickets on your main (they shouldnt expire, makes no sense for them to expire) or if u just want more of dual-arena, go play this craziness on the other servers where u dont care about your collection and stuff :)

Kaladin posted a message on Help On Disenchanting :)Posted in: Card DiscussionQuote from agent_okky >>Yeah I know haha, Should I wait till I have a decent amount of cards to start dusting? (and yeah this post is serious XD)
Here's a rough priority guide for dusting.- Extra cards (any you already have 2x of, that you can mass disenchant with a single button click).
- Golden cards that you already have 2x of the non golden version
- Golden cards that you'll literally never use
- "Bad" golden legendaries (if you're not sure, don't dust, and ask first)
- "Bad" non golden legendaries (same thing, if you're not sure, don't dust and ask first).
The best way to accumulate cards (aside from using real money to buy cards) is completing daily quests. Always re-roll 40g quests. If you play regularly, you should be able to accumulate 100g every 1 to 1.5 days - 1 pack costs 100g. With this frequency, you should be able to open up a legendary roughly once a month or more.
If you want to be competitive, you'll probably have to drop some actual money on the game though.

CrazyMathematician posted a message on Hearthstone Mathematic. TOP 10 META CARD CHARTSPosted in: Standard FormatHi guys. I really love Hearthstone and decided to matimatically determine the power of the cards in the game. I'll be glad if you find it interesting.
Tops in this topic, is not my opinion. I process the results of the open meta reports and calculate the popularity of decks, strong archetyps and cards. This list contains information from all ranks and the legendary rank together.
I use resources - vicioussyndicate.com, hearthpwn.com, tempostorm.com, hsreplay.net.ABOUT MY MATH
1. I get a percentage of the popularity of classes and archetypes from open meta sources.
2. Next, I determine the popularity of archetypes in each class in percent.
3. Then I add different versions of the archetype decks from pro players.
4. Next I look at what cards are used in decks and in what quantity (one or two copies)5. In the final I process all results, I get top with more popular cards in meta game.
I thing this cards are more powerful in the game for same period.
Abbreviations in videos:
NEW - mean I haven't information for last period.
LW - last week position.
% - percentage of using card in popular decks (that mean cards are played in x,x % of all POPULAR decks.)The number of copies of the card in the deck also has a value per percentage.
Thank you! And sorry for English, is not very good. :) More crazy charts are coming soon! -

Jiwenor posted a message on Today is my lucky dayPosted in: General DiscussionI am playing mostly in arena. Firstly, the draft was awesome, it was obvious that this deck can make at least 7. Luckily, made 12 and got a legendary. It did not happen me before. Arena Rewards and then i opened the pack then this guy. (It was my 30th deck for pity timer.)

The return of Oil Rogue to Standard? Probably not, but this card should give Rogue some extra oomph in the late-game for a burst finisher. But remember kids, be careful with your oil! Pour this on a plain-ole 1/2 Wicked Dagger and the weapon of your dreams will become a puddle of goo at your feet. Save it for a Hero Power + Runeforge Haunter + Oil combo on turn 10. Now you're doing it right! Or play it with Runeforge Haunter on turn 8 after you've played an Assassin's Blade the previous turn, and watch your opponent concede in your honor. Or they'll just Ooze you.
See the Spoiler below for other potential plays:
Assassin's Blade + Tinker's Corrosive Oil = 9/2 Weapon for 9-Mana
Obsidian Shard + Tinker's Corrosive Oil = 9/1 Weapon for 8-Mana (assuming no reduction from effect)
Perdition's Blade or Shadowblade or Sharp Fork + Tinker's Corrosive Oil = Oops Emote

mungo2613 posted a message on Mungo's Maths ThreadPosted in: General DiscussionSo I have been meaning to open a thread where we can collect questions and answers regarding the mathematics of Hearthstone (which is after all a game based heavily on mathematics). Richard Garfield, the creator of MtG, has a PhD in combinatorial mathematics, so that may be the reason.
I don't want to argue about whether it's 'math' and not 'maths' by the way, unless you can tell me why you don't study 'stat' :P
Which comes from DimosTheTherion, asking about the probability of drawing minions and not spells in a Barnes deck, the aim is to show the probabilities of having a certain number of minions in hand after 5 draws (turn 5 usually, but drawing cards affects that, so we will say 5 draws).
I'll use this first post to cover the case before the mulligan,
Dimos has 22 non-minions and 8 minions in his deck. So I'll show how to calculate how likely it is to see M minions in the cards you see before the mulligan.
You can come up with several correct arguments based on combinatorics but I'm going to use the general case which we will apply for the mulligan and later turns as well, which uses the Hypergeometric distribution. This gives the probability of drawing marbles from an urn of different colours when you don't replace them.
Background reading: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hypergeometric_distribution
There are 2 cases. You go first and see 3 cards, or go second and see 4 cards and get the coin as well.
What is the probability of seeing M minions when you see 3 cards? (Going first)?
Let's use a Hypergeometric distribution calculator, there's one here: http://stattrek.com/online-calculator/hypergeometric.aspx
The population size is 30 (number of cards in the deck)
There are 8 "successes" in the deck, i.e. minions.
The sample size is 3 (number of cards you see).
So, we use those parameters and get the probability for seeing M = 0, 1, 2 or 3 cards. I will use H(30, 8, 3, M) to denote the parameters used for the distribution.
p(M=0) = H(30, 8, 3, 0) = 0.379310344827586
p(M=1) = H(30, 8, 3, 1) = 0.455172413793104
p(M=2) = H(30, 8, 3, 2) = 0.151724137931034
p(M=3) = H(30, 8, 3, 3) = 0.0137931034482759
So the most likely result is seeing 1 minion, about 45%, then 0 minions is next most likely (about 38%).
Going 2nd, similar, but we use H(30, 8, 4, M) since we see 4 cards and M goes from 0 to 4:
p(M=0) = H(30, 8, 4, 0) = 0.266922094508301
p(M=1) = H(30, 8, 4, 1) = 0.449553001277139
p(M=2) = H(30, 8, 4, 2) = 0.236015325670498
p(M=3) = H(30, 8, 4, 3) = 0.0449553001277139
p(M=4) = H(30, 8, 4, 4) = 0.00255427841634738
So again, seeing 1 minion is most likely (45% again) but seeing 0 and 2 is roughly the same odds (27%, 24%).
The calculator also shows you p(M < x), p(M <= x) etc. which can be useful as well.
Next installment I will go into how the mulligan affects the odds if you hard mulligan for non-minions (i.e. throw away all minions).
That assumption is not valid if you always keep Barnes and no other minion, I will probably go over that as well.

If you respond to a specific question, it helps to link the post where the original question was asked.
You can also ask other questions and I will decide if I can be arsed answering them ;) Hopefully the answers I give will be explained well enough to work out how to do things on your own for similar scenarios as well.
I'm ok with being sidetracked about non-Hearthstone maths questions as well. I also know about the maths involved in making video games so we could go there also.

To have the cardback you have to play at least 3 matches with someone on the same network
