I'm curious now, what the odds Coldarra be summon for Forbidden Shaping? Because, if you don't can damage with hero power a least the Coldarra turn itself in a Reno and heal all your life or if you played finley and get warrior hero power you can put 99 (it is the limit?) armor.
Your entire argument falls apart when we look at a card like mysterious challenger. Pre-TGT, one could've argued exactly what you are saying. Secrets require far too much to make work. They are too gimmicky. Blah blah blah. And then MC comes along, and suddenly one card has made almost all of the paladin secrets, previously regarded to be the worst secrets, extremely viable. One card was able to turn a pile of crap into the backbone of one of the greatest decks ever seen.
Unless you have a magic crystal ball, you don't know what the quality of these tribal cards will be. All it takes is one or two crucial cards to make all the pieces fall into place. It is ignorant to assume that every one of these cards released will be Wicked Witchdoctors.
Also, Demonlock was very good for a considerable period of time. And I would argue that we currently have a totem shaman, or at least we did a few months back. So, you have no legs to stand on.
RNG-less 5 damage removes A LOT being played in the meta right now. Control decks won't care that much about losing the health. Underrated card. Will at least see play as a tech card in control warrior.
Think about it, Reno will be moved to the classic set for sure.
No, he won't. This and Kazakus are obviously made to try and keep Highlander alive after he rotates out. I don't know why people don't understand this, it's pretty obvious.
Can someone who is not as lazy as I am find the literally same statement about the Naxxramas? "With the Deathlord and Sludge Belcher FaceHunter and Zoolock will stand no chance and we'll have a control meta." And then people figured out that Undertaker was a really good card...
Nope, because it never was said. No one bu trump thought sludge was a good card, and death lord wasn't looked well upon. Zombie chow was also pretty underrated. Most people were talking about what would be played in the game, not the speed of it.
Also, the game was pretty slow before Naxx, so no reason to say that.
I'd like to point out that before Naxx (and after the UTH nerf) Miracle Rogue was the best deck and people tried really hard to counter it... with extremely aggressive decks (FaceHunter, Backspace Rogue, Shockadin). More adequate people used to counter Miracle Rogue with Handlock but it was a bad metacall in such fast environment.
It was the best, but it isn't the most played due to it's high skill. Control Warrior and Paladin were everywhere.

One of the worst cards I've seen this set in my opinion. Terrible. Worse than demonfire.
