    Quote from Shed >>

I understand what you are talking about, what you seem to fail to understand is that I'm not trying prove that it works that anyway and that it LIKELY works that way, it's impossible to 100% absolutely prove it without looking into the code, even with a bajillion games worth of data it is still just anecdotal evidence.

I understand the gist of discussions and you are using quite a lot of casual fallacies yourself, if you go back and read your posts you realize that you are simply trying to discredit me with these fallacies. You are threading in the "you can't prove god does not exist, therefore it exists" realm

Tackle the subject at hand and prove me otherwise with actual game design arguments and logistics as to why such system is not into the game instead of grass iguanas and red herrings. See you tomorrow.

The burden of proof goes to the accuser. I do not work for blizzard, I do not have to prove anything.  If you want to prove that you are right, that's on you.   And I'm not asking for "a bajillion games"  If you had even 1000 games that proved this hypothesis, it would be quite credible, and beyond anecdotal evidence of 30-50 games.

As for the "you can't prove god doesn't exist, therefore it exists." statement, it's quite literally the opposite of that analogy.  I am saying you can't prove it exists.  No therefore needed.  Except in this case, I never even said you can't prove match making rigging isn't happen.  It is definitely possible to prove it with enough data. It is definitely possible Blizzard gathers archetype information.  However, it is not my job to prove that, it is the job of the person who accuses that such is the case.  If you wanted to prove that god existed, it would be the job of the person who claimed that he existed  to do so.  SO no, you are literally taking my argument the opposite of what it actually means, another fallacy.

The only thing I can prove is the 24k plus games I have won during the time I have played starting with closed beta until now.  I stand by what I say and pretty much just laugh at stuff like this.  Argumentum ad ignorantiam doesn't apply to the question of HS either way because it's a logical fallacy that works both ways. I don't see how a logical fallacy would apply to anything here. Let's suppose that rigged matchmaking exists how would this work and who would benefit from the rigging of matches?

The only people who think matching is "rigged" are people incapable of logical reasoning, to begin with.  I get a kick out of the whole argument  between kids who don't understand why they can't get that legend cardback simply by crafting a tier one deck. You certainly have a lot to learn and HS is the least of your problems.

I enjoy ranking to D5 now that it was pretty much given to everyone with the ladder climb nerfs so long ago. I had a legend cardback 7 years ago when it was actually difficult. I've done it numerous times since then without much effort other than playing a high winrate deck and focusing on mirror matchups with or without tech cards based on how that tech card affects the deck overall. I rig the game  myself by trying to play in a way to give me the best dice roll possible to make winning happen more often than losing. The game is really  that simple. When you understand this concept making legend now is truly a joke.

The last time I did it for fun was on New Year's day. I left my rank at D1 1 star and sat down one hour before the season ended. I made legend when the last Big Priest I qued into decided to concede .....I laughed and still laugh at that.  Yeah, the game is rigged....lmao

posted a message on HS matchmaking is biased.....is that good?

The mmr is very simple why do you kids constantly argue about it? Win 5 in a row the system will match you against a deck with a similar winrate until you lose you basically put yourself into a higher category the more you win. The same goes for losing.. lose 5 in a row you will eventually be matched against a similar opponent.

This is why you can q a net deck and tech against weapon rogue and never see a weapon rogue because that pirate when played will auto-win you the game almost all the time. How stupid would the game be if it matched you against the same deck you could easily win 75% of the time just by drawing the tech card.

Choose a pre-made deck and you will face someone with a similar non-meta jank-ass deck as well until you win enough to get matched against a similar win rate opponent until you lose.

This is why going from 5-legend with no streak stars takes a massive amount of games just because of sheer rng. The better you get at manipulating the rng to give you the best % chance to win is what separates veterans from beginners.

You want to make legend you have to win more than you lose and when winning more matches you against similar opponents you will eventually lose even if you played perfectly because it's a fking card game with rng.

Get over your insecurities and ridiculous assumptions. The game is not rigged its designed that way or else it would be a matter of who had better cards would just make legend no matter how dumb they played.

All the F2P players who think the game is P2W talk like sausages. Q that tier one net deck and all you play against are players in the same tier with the same deck who just play it better than you because they have a 100 games under their belt and you just crafted it.  You win by playing the same deck over and over and over...you learn the matchup and how the other decks beat yours. You know what turns are crucial for having the card you need that turn or else your chances of winning are drastically reduced.  There is no secret to the game and it doesnt take a very high iq to make legend but rather a lot of time and being able to endure the same boring ass matches over and over again.

If the game eliminated mirror matches everyone would make legend without even trying. Mirror matches are crucial to making legend and are the most rng dependant . Just by learning to beat the mirror match or teching one card that will give you an edge goes a long way.

You got to love the silas steal your giant-ass minion tech card for libram pally matchup. That one wins the game on the spot most of the time against players who dont play around it or really have no other choice because you forced their plays.

you win some you lose some its all the same to me......Lemmy summed up gambling pretty succinctly  there. Thats all HS is nothing more nothing less....

Just dust every Classic card and every card from the 3 Sets that rotate, unless you love a Bugfest that Blizzard doesnt care about which is Wild, or Duels which is totally forgetable.

That way I'am back to approx 30k+ Dust, not having to spend valueable real money for crappy expansions, crappy unbalanced Metas and hugely delayed Nerfs, or paying money to get added by toxic desocialized kids wishing Death upon me or insulting my parents.

sounds like you shouldn't be wasting your time on a crappy game. I hope you find happiness in your life.

posted a message on Am I the only one who thinks Rogue is a problem?
    Quote from Alex_Strasza >>

I am playing in Standard and I am so tired of meeting only Rogues. Since the last nerfs, I mostly find rogues on ladder. And initially it was okay, but I am the only one who finds it boring to go up against the same deck / class for something like 10 games in a row? I know that there is going to be a new expansion in two weeks but it is so frustrating to meet something like 40% rogues on ladder. Not to speak of 'It wasnt'me' spammed all over again every game....... Am I just being unlucky or does any one else notice this?

This has been said 1 trillion times........you should find another game to play buddy.  There ia a reason the rewards track was introduced. The game is nothing more than a grind with certain decks that win more against others. Deal with how the game works and enjoy your free gold just for spending time playing. They made the game even easier since you don't even have to win anything to progress on the gold road. I can play to d5 with decks I make to so achievements and complete quests without much effort. Seriously it gets so old hearing the same washed out tired complaining all the time.  I used to play for the 30 wins to see how much gold I could make if I played everyday for the entire season. I made 12000 once and never bothered to waste my time with it again. I'll have 16000 this season and I put in no effort after i hit rank 50 on the RT 3 weeks into the season.

If you encounter rogue almost half the time on ladder use a deck to beat it. Once you switch you wont encounter a single rogue until you lose enough games so the syystem matches you against a deck you have a better chance of beating.

The game is designed that way for a reason. The more you win the game matches you against opponents who are winning as much as you until you lose. If you lose too many times it will match you against a deck you have a better chance to beat. Learn how to manipulate draw chance and give yourself the best rng odds at winning. Once you realize even a 70% chance to draw the card needed to win still fails 30% of the time not even the best player can win when that happens. Its a random card game. If you see the same deck all the time then you should know what cards it runs and what plays it makes to beat your deck. If the matchup is unfavored its for a reason because no matter how good you play the unfavored deck you will lose more than you win so why would you be upset over it
? HS isnt a contest or a way to impress your friends its a hilarious card game made to rake in profits for the company and the players to waste time laughing at and hopefully enjoy playing. Get a grip man and start working on achivements and getting all the free packs you can because there really is nothing else to do in the game besides that. You will eventually get a legend cardback and after that you will realize legend is nothing more than the same old game with the same old decks you have been playing the same old entire time to get there.

posted a message on Will Golden Classic Cards still be unlockable?
    Quote from AAZ >>
    Quote from xskarma >>

    https://www.hearthpwn.com/news/7989-introducing-the-core-set-classic-format-legacy-set

"With the Classic Set joining the Legacy Set in Wild, all Classic cards and their Golden versions will now be craftable and disenchantable. Basic cards and their Golden versions will be granted to all players that have Wild unlocked for free at rotation, as will the normal versions of Demon Hunter Initiate cards (Golden Demon Hunter Initiate cards will still be craftable and disenchantable)."

     Thanks for the quote, sir.
Not a native English speaker here, can you pls explain it one more time?
I understood that all Basic cards (normal and golden) + DH Initiate JUST normal cards  will be given for free
Question is just about DH Initiate GOLDEN cards  - so if don't fram level 60 DH now, the only way to get them = to craft?
So it means that we should farm level 60 dh now?

If you knew what a basic card was you would know that they aren't craftable to begin with. When the rotation hits you will be given all the BASIC cards in normal and Golden BUT now they will be CRAFTABLE which means you can disenchant them where before you could not.

The initiate set was given out when DH launched ; they were never craftable in normal versions to begin with. If you somehow missed getting these cards they will be given to you as NORMAL versions. You can still craft the golden version of those cards if you want.

The question is if you havent leveled the dh to 60 and you wait will you get extra versions of the basic cards in gold when you hit the lvl that gives them out. My answer would be no.

But no you dont need to lvl your DH to 60 or risk not being able to get a golden version of the basic cards for that class set.

Not being able to get those cards in gold would be really stupid of blizzard to do in a game where collecting the cards is a fundamental part of the game.

DH is such a boring class to play and so easily countered many people have not lvled it to 60.

What most people who disenchant cards find out the hard way is that months or years down the line those cards will become useful again because blizzard will make them useful. Blizzard wants all the F2P players to disenchant cards only to find they might need to craft them down the line.

Personally, I would wait until my reports showed a great enough percentage of people who have dusted tons of cards that would make it hard to play successfully in the older modes and then introduce alternate art cards and new golden versions as rewards for the ladder in those modes. Not only that I would increase the cost of the packs containing cards for these modes and the dust needed to craft any of the older ones as well.

This would reward players who actually spend money on the game and allow them to have things other people don't and if other people want those things then they have to spend an equal amount of money to get them.

This would also incentivize players to think twice about dusting cards and maybe buy something instead,

Pretty soon you are going to find out that locking yourself into the F2P mode (standard) is going to be some seriously boring $hit.

    This will occur trust me

there is no casual mode now. Standard is quest completion mode and wild is achievement mode for me. D5 in both modes because when you make legend once in each there is no point in wasting your time again.

I'm going to enjoy making legend again with faceless leeroy and buzzard hounds in legacy when they release that. OG legend with those since playing in closed beta.

Hopefully, this new expansion isn't dull in a week. The new achievements and reward track are the only thing that keeps me playing anymore. Before that, it was log-in complete quest log out.

Should be rank 250-260 before release and I'll enjoy the 160 free packs added to the pile I'm opening on release day. 420-430 packs are always fun to open.  That is 100 more than the 320 I open for every expansion.

I called for a new mode with lowered turn time 6 years ago. This is nothing but a poor attempt to turn a card that was utterly useless into something people who can't afford packs might use.

The core set is pretty boring imo and brings nothing new to the game. The reason Nozzy was made this way is that they didn't have to do any special coding for it beyond a few minutes of work.

Nobody is running this card outside of any quest that gives xp that uses it.

For every one game you lose with aggro DH you win 2-3...it was pretty easy to get 500 wins and the class to 60 while I played other games and burned the rope

I just laugh at the kids who try so hard and fail.

Maybe keep kayn in your starting hand and add some silences if you want to increase your win rate against those decks but being that i play standard or quest mode as I call it with decks I use to complete quests after I rank to d5 in wild I wouldn't know about having an issue with the home being a tomb because those decks are dead before turn 6 in wild.

posted a message on I gave up and I am playing Aggro Stealth Rogue
    Quote from SpaceTimeDream >>

And it is boring as hell. Yes I win games and yes my opponent is usually down to 13 health by turn 4 but I just feel like a f***ing bully...

Is this what people find fun? Is this why people gloat and say “git gud” for? The Stealth Rogue deck isn’t even something new this expansion. I played it couple of expansions before and it has the same game plan as it did when it was first introduced: play cheap minions that hit your opponent for 3-9 damage a turn each.

“The deck isn’t for you” you say? Well I’d love to play a heavy control deck but unfortunately I will be dead by turn 4 and if by miracle I survive to turn 10, my 10 mana big pay off card like Yog will probably give me random spells in hand that doesn’t help me at all.

I could play big Paladin or whatever its called but it just been recently nerfed and I don’t even have the cards for it.

I really miss the kind of minions that have pseudo-taunt and gets you punished for ignoring them. I really hope the new expansion introduce minions that force the other aggro player to interact with your minions other than taunts.

What do you play the game for?

Personally, hearthstone is nothing but a collecting game for me. I have every card in the game I have every cardback in the game except the ones you are awarded for esports events. I have every golden hero portrait I have every 1000 win portrait.  I have a 12 win arena key I got with just over 100 wins .  I have every alternate hero skin currently in the game. I'm currently at 210 on RT. My complete collection is 70% golden. My dust pile is 100k+ and I have over 5k duplicate cards to disenchant still.

You feel like a bully playing aggro?

I don't feel like anything when I play any deck type as I can play anything I want and with over 24K wins  I can say they all have their ups and downs.

Seems like you need to find something else to do in the game.

I'm glad the devs finally made something for players like me to do. I have three XP achievements left to complete before the new packs arrive next month.

Maybe you should try arena or some heroic solo adventures.

I play to D5 and stop. I play decks to complete XP achievements.

I'm shooting for 150+ free packs before release, I'm almost there now should be pretty easy. I'll be opening 400+ this time.

You should bully your way to legend rank 1 with that aggro deck and then bully your way to a world championship. Sounds like a plan to me.

I'm with you there the game really is too easy.

    Have fun.!

    What do you want changed?

Ideally, I would like them to tweak the dust economy to make it better for players. At the very least, I'd them to be plain and just say that they have no intention of changing it without adding all the other bs like the free deck and free core set to make it seem like they've done stuff for us when they really haven't. The only really great thing they've gotten right was duplicate protection, though honestly I think that should have been in place from launch. The new rewards track is also pretty good now that they fixed it after the initial backlash.

ideally, you want cards for practically nothing is what you really mean. I'm sorry to inform you that will not happen to the crafting system. As far as dust is concerned I got a free golden high abbess today because I had two regular copies. Seeing as how I have every card in the game because I have played since closed beta Im sitting on 100K+ dust and a 70% complete golden collection. The new RT system will have me at roughly 160 free packs when the Barren releases plus the 145 from both preorders plus the extra 120 packs from the three bundles I buy. 425 packs opening on release day will give me boatloads of entertainment value and the best meta decks in solid gold.

As much as evryone would like things for free I'm sorry but that has to end at some point. Blizzard could give evrything away and people would still complain.

The new system benefits people who spend money to support the game the most, as it should, but it also has greatly benefitted people who dont spend a dime.

The continued begging for more free stuff is pretty degrading to those who do it and very insulting to those who have to listen to it.

When will anything be enough for some of these people is a question that has only once answer....NEVER.

    Good Luck with your time!

    Good Luck with your time!

Aww, aren't you a proud consoomer. I am sure Blizz will milk you again soon for being such a good boy.

Or you can get off your high horse and act like an adult, either or. We are not complaining because we are poor peasants who can't put money into the game. I have while I still believed in it and would again if the game improved. Helping people keep up with the expansions without spending outrageous amounts of money would be a good step. So was duplicate protection if it works how I think it works (recently came back to the game so not sure). What would really secure me as a paying customer again would be dismantling Standard format. By that I mean ending power creep and making fun and fresh cards which are nonetheless balanced to fit with the totality of HS cards, or close to it. That was the straight and narrow but correct move. Predictably Blizz went for the easy and greedy option of Standard and giving your cards an effective 2y lifecycle. I know my last request is unlikely to happen but might as well speak my mind, if I don't no chance of it becoming a thing.

What we need is at least a doubling of dust value. The way I would do it is to simplify the whole system, which helps new players learn too. Each rarity level should require to disenchant two cards of the same rarity to craft the card of that rarity level you want. So two legends to make a legend, two rares to make a rare, etc. Golden cards always cost double of what a normal card does and also DE for half the cost to make them (this is mostly true already). This should roughly double the value of our dust. You can further play with the odds of gaining the higher rarities from packs to adjust this perfectly.

The final goal should be to have players who spent almost the whole season playing, doing all of their quests and putting in 1-3hrs a day gain virtually all commons and rares. As well as about half of the epics and legends, including a healthy majority of the "good" ones (since those are the ones you will be spending dust crafting). People who pay 20-40$ worth of money per expansion should have the vast majority of all cards period. And whales like you should be able to afford all goldens pretty much by spending 100ish dollars each expansion.

That is fair and reasonable, 20-40$ every few months is pricey but comparable to DLC and many people will be happy to pay it to have access to pretty much all the cards to make whatever deck they want. Whales aren't skinned alive for their shineys though they still pay well. And most importantly F2Ps will be able to craft most (though not all, so incentive exists to pay) meta decks they want and enjoy the game. Stuck up as you are because you help pay the way it is still F2Ps who make the soul of the game. Without them the queues would be terrible, matchups stale and cookie-cutter at all rank levels and our community much poorer. And God damn if we can let as many people enjoy as possible shouldn't we? It is also good for everyone. Better progression means more F2Ps come and more stay, which means more engagement and enjoyment for paying customers. Happy people spend more money. As I said many of us feel betrayed and used as cash cows and we just won't do it, improve the situation improve the cash flow. Blizzard pretty much only cares about money so they are happy too. The only people who would be unhappy are those who want to see poorer players suffer and scrape for leftovers just because they enjoy seeing it which despite being clearly disgusted by your attitude I hope you are not.

But hey that is just how I would help fix up the game, hope others agree too though ;)

The things they teach you in school these days have really affected the way you think. These threads do nothing but reinforce the obvious to me that the people who are constantly voicing their opinion that blizzard sucks and corporations suck and everyone with more than them sucks and somehow they should be given everything.  Your idea of "fair and reasonable" is another person's idea of onerous monetization. These posts always include input on what the makers of the game should do to make these individuals happy and how their views are always more "fair".

People, like me, are always attacked because I spend money on the game and I am just some braindead consumer being milked by a corporation. I have no choice in the matter because blizzard holds a gun to my head and is threatening to pull the trigger if I don't keep buying their products.

Why do you engage in a game made by corporations that you hate? Why do you continue to give them money? Why don't you exercise your ultimate power of not engaging in the activity anymore? You want the corporation to change for YOU. Why are you so special? There are millions of people who play this game and spend money on it because whatever they put into it is not valued as much as what they get out of it.

Why do lawyers charge $250-$500 an hour? Do you think this is fair? Why do doctors charge thousands for services, is this fair?

Why don't you say gaming is a right and should be free?

I'm not speaking on a micro level about your views but rather on a macro one.

The reason the game is structured as it is stems from the fact that consumers are willing to spend money on it. The day that enough people stop paying and playing is the day that they will change it.

Blizzard wants 39.99 for a remake of a 20-year-old game that I played for hundreds and hundreds of hours that I think is out of line so guess what...I won't give them $39.99 for it but I know a lot of people will and so do they. Does this mean Blizzard is evil and hates its customers? NO, it doesn't.

You need to ask yourself why you are so mad that other people have more than you and instead realize you have more than a lot of other people. Nobody is saying you can't voice your opinion on what you think but when you attack people like me for voicing mine you just come across as another Marxist who wants to bring everyone down to their "fair and equitable" standard. You cant have what I have so let's take mine away and make it fairer for people like you.

The way you think is what makes you mad and the people who have taught you to think this way are pure evil. I actually feel sorry for you. Instead of wasting your time trying to bring everyone down to your subjective idea of what is "fair and equitable" you should think about how you can bring yourself up to my level and beyond.

When you spend all your time trying to get even with someone you will never get ahead of them.

When you can grasp the idea of the above statement you will be much happier in life and I bet you will make others around you much happier as well.

I just want an easier way to make golden cards. Would be nice if we could combine 3 duplicate cards to make a golden one or something like that.

if they do this a golden common would be essentially 15 dust.  they would never do that. What they will end up implementing is a way to make cards golden based on some timesink or objective to complete that will require you to have certain cards or rank, to begin with, that will cost less than the actual dust needed to make a golden copy. The fact that they nerf cards very quickly now means you shouldn't be dusting anything until the nerfs are introduced. I just got 3200 dust for high abbess because I had two regular copies. I crafted a free golden one. This card is still ridiculous at 5 mana. I usually wait for 2-3 expansions before I dust all my extra copies of any card.
