I have been with HS since beta and honestly I used to love playing this game. But seriously with card design for like the last three sets, the game is taking now the same blizzard philosphy they do with all their games ..dumb it down for the masses to make money. It feels now we are not playing a skilled opponent but rather just playing against whatever lucky or unlucky draw they get. As well as do we get the lucky draw or not. Explain to me how this is not bad game design. It's becoming obvious Lifecoach was right when he stated the reasons he quit the game. And that guy was a great pro who prob would have eventually become a World Champion. For him to walk away and now play GWENT says everything.

Let's talk about the sorry state of hearthstone today. If you believe that blizzard actually had 70 million players at one time, I got this bridge in Brooklyn I would love to sell you. But lets talk about the fact that two former world champions did not even make the playoffs this year. Tom6033 whatever the hell number the last part of his name was did not even make the top 8 of the Asian playoffs. As far as I know Firebat has never repeated his past glories or even gotten close. Every year at Blizzcon we see mostly new names, why is that?

Let's talk about how we are no longer playing the players we are just playing the cards. Really BS cards that have been printed like Volcano , Meteror, bs mage spells that you get from just putting a low drop into your deck, or how bout healing rain, Shaddorwock , the list is so long now of op bs cards that it's amazing when you look back at how we used to have to trade intelligently and make smart calculated plays, now it has become he who draws better usually wins.

Let's talk about the lousy win rate even pros have , sixty percent is pretty bad standards in any other comptetive field. But yet this is what even Muzzy says is only possible. This game used to be great , it used to be as close to chess as a TCG could be , I don't know magic is prob better but no one plays MTG online anyway. But now we all are just hoping we draw the big playmaking cards that if we do usually win us the game. Ben Brode you might have made Blizzard money, but you did a disservice to HS ever being considered a legitimate esport, and just becuase Blizzard will pay you to compete doesn't make it so. You can go on a game show and compete and even win money and prizes , don't make it a sport!

There really is so much wrong, like have you noticed there are 45 taunt cards in HS yet we only have like less than ten silence cards? This game is going the way OW has gone , it is starting to die. In fact it was so already dead the last world championship was broadcast at like 9am in the morning for most of NA ...no one here even watched it live , like very few ppl were gonna get up and watch that.

We now have a new game manager with Dean , I really hope he fixes the mess Brode made ...these nerfs are a start, but we have a long way to go , if Blizzard doesn't think players are gonna start quiting like they are doing in OW. By the way Blizz players playing a few days a year your events is not a concurrent player base. Now I know you want to lie and make ppl believe that so your stocks go up (But really ppl who invest in stocks by law know that you can't lie or fudge the numbers , the way you spread your lies to your player base. )

Good Luck Dean you will need it

posted a message on This game can be FUN!

Like your idea to have like a sideboard , or wish HS would take a que from Gwent and let you even redraw a few cards during the match. Just something

There are 45 taunt cards now currently in the game and less than six or seven that silence ...so are you really doing anything all that clever or are you just stalling ? Playing all taunt cards is really what makes this game not very fun and you are one of the people contributing to it. But I really think you are just out to have fun in a very stale meta that we happen to find ourselves in now. So can you please just play in practice not comp. Just a thought as you remind of the people in OW who just cheese if they are afraid they are gonna lose a match on defense.

I find it humorous when people make the assumption that blizzard is not one of the most unethical game companies in existence. They screw you over every chance they get, but there devs make good games. Probably has a lot to do with Activision who have the most shares of Blizzard/Activison now really run the company. The real reason they took our adventures away like Karzan and League of Explorers ect. is now you don't get those easier to get powerful legendaries any more for just twenty bucks. Nope now you get to play the HS slotmachine and hope you get lucky! Or you can grind the game and make it look better to stockholders when they can say this many ppl are currently playing. Can't you see there are only two goals here =keep you spending more money and keep you playing which then makes them more money when it comes to more ppl intersted in buying Blizzard/Activision stocks.

Ever thought maybe they are making more and more BS cards is because keeps casuals playing which keeps those same casuals buying more cards. I have seen all of these same things with OW as well ...it's their business philosphy ..prob why you get to grind the ladder even longer now , even though they claimed their changes would improve that as well.

The state of this game is not in good shape, twitch viewers of tournaments are way down, the game will probably get its player base cut in half when artifact comes out and Gwent comes out of release. Really most ppl are just sticking around, competitive players anyway because for now it's where the money is. But Valve have deeper pockets than Blizzard\Activision and they are not cheapskates like Blizzard is notorious for being.

But all that aside, they have pushed us to all play nothing but control, and now the game is this plain and simple, board clear every turn and then just hope you top deck better than the other guy. How is that fun or strategic , the way they have been printing cards, it's like the decks play themselves. And let's be real , everyone just copies the metadecks at the moment. So if the cards almost pratically play themselves, how much real strategy is even left?

posted a message on Lets talk about HS pros leaving the game and why?

I don't think Pros are leaving for cost of cards ..obviously not. But it does show Blizzard does not even value their customers, how they are all screwing us over more and more every year. There casters even wear the same shirts ! I have seen even HS casters wearing the exact same shirt a league caster was wearing last week! I really think have a shirt box the casters have to pick from, or maybe they all fight for the best shirts.

I really think this is Blizzard, they want to have a esport, but then only cater to the casual base, not the competive base. RNG cards are fun for casuals, but terrible for esports. The game is RNG enough because it's a 30 card,  card game in the first place. Blizzard is great at selling games terrible at running them.

Yeah the real reasons i think ppl are quiting is RNG and some of the most bs cards ever printed in the last three sets. The decks are starting to play themselves and more and more BS cards are being printed.

quoting lifecoach and why he left in his pcgamer article:

And at the moment, talking about competitive Hearthstone, the question is always when can you call a game competitive? If you can achieve a 1% edge, then it's kind of coin-flipping. So I think there's no disagreement in that if you have a game, and the best players of the world can only play at 1% better than an average player, then it's a pure gamble and it really has nothing to do with competitiveness at all. And while I'm not saying that Hearthstone is at 1% at the moment, [the percentage] is way too low.

I'm not gonna give my main opinion yet, just want to ask you guys. Here is a tiny sample of what I do think but not the main reasons I think ppl are leaving.  Is this the same game it used to be. If you really think about it, any other company was doing business like they treat their customers they wouldnt be in business very long. When it cost 1600 to create a legendary and then you only get 400 back, which the real reason is to make you have to, or strongly motivate you to buy more packs to get what you want. Why was there not a uproar when they said no more adventures= no more free legendaries guys.

Well Lifecoach one of the most consistent HS pros left already, who will be next? Prob wont see any of the Pros who cast for blizzard ever really tell the truth on things or ever say anything negative ..well because they are employee's and their future casting income would be affected.
