This looks big and scary with a huge upside, but it comes down very late, and it's a deathrattle, so it can be silenced. It's got low health, so it doesn't stop aggro decks from going face. If you're playing this, you either already won, and this was just a dead card, or you've wasted a turn to do nothing. If this was a battlecry and the stats were reversed, it might be good. But I'm calling it here. This never sees play.

Andrei2007 posted a message on Alterac mini setPosted in: General DiscussionQuote from LordCheesus >>Don't get too excited. Questlines are still a thing. Until they get addressed what's the point?
The "perfect world" solution is to print a card that says "Battlecry: Destroy the Enemy's quest or questline spell",
The "I'll settle for" solution would be to print a card that says "Battlecry: RETURN the enemy's quest or questline spell to their hand" and the rule would be once it's returned to hand the quest resets back to the start.
But hey, the balance teams being what they are I doubt they'll be addressed at all.
This dumb idea of a tech card is regurgitated so often on these forums that it makes me chuckle a bit more every time.
1. Tech cards are bad. If you added ooze to your deck before you made your deck substantially worse vs non-weapon classes, while not solving the problem against weapon classes most of the time. Since you don't draw it, or cannot time it efficiently to not be at a tempo loss. Now with Viper, it's a bit better because you can trade it, but it's still a bad inclusion in most decks.
2. Why would you want a card that basically says win the game against quest decks? How would quest players feel? It's better to just retire the quests at rotation (like genn and baku) rather than print this horrible spite card. Also if this exists as a quest killer, nobody would play quests anymore, nobody will want to buy packs from that set, so it's not only a disaster from blizzard's perspective, it's admitting a mistake (and there is a long debate about quests being a mistake or not) and coming up with a horrible solution like a quest destruction card.
At competent levels (diamond through legend), quest decks are not even tier 1, and only warrior, rogue and warlock see a winrate just barely above 50%. Quests are fine now, we have to see post nerf, some will become much more dominant (like quest rogue for example), but I doubt they are going to dominate the meta. And if they do, it's very easy to soft nerf their stages until they hit the right spot in terms of power level.
So to everyone having wet dreams about quest destruction cards, keep dreaming.

Aelfscyne posted a message on Alliestrasza and Lt. Eddy Cancel Card Reveals over Blizzard Allegations and Law Suit - Trump TooPosted in: NewsAllie's reasoning for not proceeding with her card reveal today was completely sensible. Frankly, some of the reactions to this whole situation and to Allie's decision here and in other forums are the reason why the term "gamer" is becoming an unsavory term.
Edit: Also, if you downvote this post have the balls to respond and state why. I won't hold my breath.

Shwarzinator posted a message on Duels is frickin sweet! Why the hate on this site?Posted in: General DiscussionWish the "Duels is dead" people here would chill. It doesn't have to have as much traffic as constructed or battlegrounds to still have a lot of people playing it. Frickin millions of people are playing Hearthstone.Duels is a great idea. It still needs more balancing (Deathrattle Hunter *cough) but a PVP dungeon run is a really fun mix of single player and competitive elements. Sure it feels bad when you inevitably run into someone with insane treasure combos etc., but the flip side of that is how fun it is to pull that stuff off yourself. That's completely worth the feel bad matches. The problem is just that Duels came out at the wrong time. It got a ton of hate because it came out when reddit was revolting against Blizzard. Its (limited) reliance on your collection (which they've reduced) was enough for people to group it in with all the other Great Evils. Basically some people just hate Blizzard for sucking so much money out of their wallets and want to see them fail. Duels is a fantastic concept that we should all be supporting and at the very least buoying with occasional play.I mean....haven't we all at some point thought "How cool would it be if they combined dungeon runs with competitive play? That would be so sweet!" Turns out it is so sweet, and can get a lot sweeter. A little more love and a little less hate would help that along.Literally my next "what if" after Duels was "what if they made a rogue-like RPG version of Hearthstone where you can level up your party and progress through a map?" And now they're doing exactly that! Team 5 is doing amazing stuff and giving us so many cool ways to enjoy Hearthstone. I know Blizzard is really gouging with their prices but don't throw the baby out with the bathwater. This is why we can't have nice things! Try to enjoy and appreciate all these nice things we have so we can keep them. On that note if you have actually written off Duels (perhaps because you got fed up with getting owned by crazy decks before getting to experience having the sweet deck yourself) I recommend trying it out again. It is a really cool different way to experience Hearthstone. -

sublim8 posted a message on Rewards Track Refresh & Diamond CardsPosted in: NewsI play a number of free 2 play games, and I never spend any money in them because there's almost no value in their purchases. Spend $99 for a chance to roll something rare, but no guarantees.
HS gives great value and keeps on rewarding just playing the game and as you say improves and becomes a richer experience, so I'm the same, I don't mind spending on reward tracks or adventures or even if I want to be greedy for some gold packs or special hero skins.
Are some decks annoying to play against? Yes, but there's a lot more to do than just ladder, and ways to counter annoying stuff.
Half the enjoyment I personally get from the game is just crafting funny decks and beating up the innkeeper. The only thing really on my wishlist for this game is a way to assign a custom deck to the innkeeper for practice, fun and lolz. Like I just built a warrior deck that's all trolls and slimes. It's pretty awesome and funny but would be garbage vs someone ladder netdecking.

I hope they add more diamond cards for this expansion down the road.

A slightly modified version of this Elephant Priest saw me from diamond 8 all the way to legend!
I didn't have a reliquary, so ran another condemn (good against fast decks which can be difficult to survive), and instead of soul mirror, I added hysteria. and instead of the amulets (completely agree they don't belong in this deck) I ran 2 Shard of the Naaru which are tradeable and can really get you out of a hole sometimes - works great!
It seems to be really tuned for the current meta... you can refill your board so many times with sticky critters and then buff everyone up to absurd levels and usually still have answers for anything they throw at you.
It takes a little learning to play properly so I lost a fair bit to start with, but overal ended up with 61% win rate (and if i just look at D5 to legend it's more like 65%).
Thanks for posting!
