Guys, I had an amazing game. I, playing with Big Duel Paladin, against Big Warrior. I was on the edge of defeat, when opponent has two Rattlegores. Thanks to taunt minions and Runaway Blackwing, buffed with Lightforged Blessing, I managed to survive and win. Great game!
Good that they answered, but here some are new issues
1. So, the word for lying is now "miscommunicate"?
2. "Blizzard just posted a lengthy update detailing their plans" - no, this is not detailed so much.
3. One of the main issues of Battle Pass is receiving less gold. Director desn't speak about gold, but in more general way, about "rewards". Sounds suspicious to me.
4. He hadn't focused to math aspect of Battle Pass. THIS is very bad.
New Mechanics is just a heading, and as is written right below it, this happens to include looking at some of the old mechanics as well which have returned in a brand new way.
Sure it could say New and Returning Mechanics, maybe the article writer gave you too much credit.
"New mechanics" is simply misleading. I know, writers wants your attention, they make things more attractive as they really are, but this doesn't mean that this is not misleading. If something is titled new mechanics and most of them aren't really new, there is something not right, isn't it? If in a list titled "VEGETARIAN MENU" most of dishes are with meat, would you call it a vegetarian menu, or perhaps creator of menu gave you too much credit?
I wouldn't bother if there was something like "Amazing cards effects" or "Coming cool mechanics", because they are cool and amazing. But most of them aren't esentially new.
Sometimes I also wonder how many more people would pre-purchase an expansion if the prices were a lot lower. I have a couple of friends that used to play a LOT of hearthstone. But they played a lot for a couple of months and then take a break for a couple of months. This made it very hard for them to come back everytime they felt like playing again. Eventually they quit, because getting back into the game was too time-consuming or simply too expensive.
Most of them told me that they were willing to pay something like 30-50 euros so they could get back into the game. So if blizzard were to put the pre-purchase bundles at 20 euros for small bundle and 40 euros for big bundle approximately, they would actually buy one or two bundles and were very willing to keep playing whenever an expansion hit.
I have bought bundles in the past. But I don't feel the game is worth it to me to spend 80 or 120 euros to pre-purchase both bundles. If the cost for 130 pack (both bundles usually) was somethin like 50-60 euros, I would pre-purchase every single expansion. And I believe a lot of people would feel this way. Lowering the cost of the game will have more people spend money on it. Earning them more money overall and getting the game an even better playerbase.
Maybe they make more money with the prices as they are. I don't know. But I do know that they would make more money off of me, if the prices were lower. Because for my own conscience, I can not spend 80 euros every 4 months (for 85 packs).
Of course, I would be really happy if price for pre-orders would be lower.
As you pointed out, IMO it would be beneficial for players (less money spend per person) and also for company (more players willingly to buy pre-orderders).
New expansion looks cool, and I love Lovecraftian/Old Gods stuff, so yeah, I'm excited too :) But what I mean about lie was about new system of exp and amount of prizes (totally different matter).
Yes, making money in itself is not a bad thing (although some comments suggest that it is something bad) by company, but they do that in really bad, dumb way.
OK, I understand your point of view. Corrupt is definietly a new mechanism (or "key-word"), like Adapt in Un'Goro and so on. But for example: transforming spells into different ones with original cost of spell. It is a new card, but can we say that effect of this card is something brand new? No, if we have something like Renounce Darkness. Effects are different, of course, but there is nothing esentially new.
Also, Tickatus [/card]as having Corrupt keyword is something new, but discarding cards from deck is not somethinf I would call essentially new. F.e. [card]Fel Reaver, Gnomferatu.

Ragnaros the Firelord can go face, but sometimes you must focus on enemy minions ;)

With buffs from other murlocs and Paladin or Shaman cards, this can be devastating when hit face.
Also can potentially keep your murlocs alive in early game. Amazing card, definietly one of the best murloc cards from some time.
1
I feel bad for Ragnaros the Firelord :(

Oh, so it's also a hunter card? My bad
2
Nice for buff aggro Priest, I guess. Reliquary of Souls, Shadow Ascendant, and Dragonmaw Overseer.

Why using C'Thun, the Shattered with Deck of Lunacy? Deck of Lunacy will transform C'Thun pieces and you will be unable to use his battlecry.

Happy New Year for all players, for everyone!

Yes, so it should be called "New" Mechanics.
