    Quote from IIxVaVo >>

Well, you can't complain about other people's attitudes when you accepted their friend request. People are free to say whatever they want even though I'm with you and hate those kinds.

No, they're not and there's a reason there are laws to prevent/deter certain abusive behaviour in real life for things that fall into things like harassment, hate speech or threatening behaviour. You obviously can't police everything and there are certain things that fall into simply being a bad loser/winner etc. There is however a general misunderstanding of what free speech is actually there for, it isn't to simply say whatever you want and there is a bizarre tolerance for online behaviour which isn't extended to 'real life' behaviour and this tolerance is one of the causes of this toxicity getting worse and worse.

The longer this sort of thing is shrugged off, the more cowards behind a keyboard will push the boundaries and its not OK. If you approached someone and started telling them they should kill themselves there can be consequences for that, the online space should be no different. Maybe then people would stop having dual personalities, their real life and then their online one.

    Quote from Psy_Kik >>

Imagine telling people they can't open their mouths in real life because there is a high chance they will say something offensive to somebody somewhere. The loss of chat in online games is a tragedy.

Hey yeah, I always want to be bombarded with racism and sexism and homophobia while I play videogames for fun and to relieve stress.

F*** chat rooms.  The tragedy is that too many gamers are utter trash people.  Once they're no longer s**t for brains jack***es, then we'll talk.  Chat functions in games weren't ruined by political correctness, they were ruined by folks deciding to be a**holes.

That is some people for you. You have to learn to deal with it. Or complain about to it the likes of Blizzard so we lose chat in all our games, which is what has happened.

I hate the phrase snowflake...but this as a rare time when I feel it's appropriate - we have lost chat functions in online games (which used to be an absolute standard) because of snowflakes. Not racists, not homophobes, bigots, not salty gamers with no f-bomb control, not kids who are too young to know any better, or offended feminists, hard right or left polticos, chinese censors....but perpetually whining Snowflakes with thin skin.

Exposure to these types is educational. Chatting with anyone is educational, especially if they are from other parts of the world. Over the course of my life I learned a lot from online chat in games one way or another. For the next generation, it will be gone, for fear of being offensive.

That's such a strawman of the actual argument that I don't think it's even worth addressing but I'll bite a bit. It isn't educational to have someone add you, send you a load of expletives whilst saying they are going to rape a member of your family and then blocking you so you can't even respond. Educational is a strange word to use to be honest.

When a community is generally so immature and toxic they have to be treated like children. This isn't about people getting wound up because someone doesn't agree with them which is what you're alluding to. I would say 90% of the interactions I've had in this game have been abuse and block style communication. It doesn't offend me at all, it's obviously just empty words but at the same time it adds absolutely no value to my experience so I'm not going to bother with wanting that communication to be increased. I have literally nothing to gain from it and if you get 3 or 4 arse holes in quick succession it just becomes tiresome. I'm not interested in enabling people to act like absolute cunts because they enjoy having the freedom to do so. No one should be a sounding board for abuse simply because that's what makes someone feel better about themselves and its quite astounding that you think this should be fine.

What you are in favour of is someon being entitled to walk up to someone in the street, scream racial abuse at them without reply and then walk off before doing it to the next person they see. That doesn't happen because it's pathetic, unacceptable behaviour so don't try and take some form of high ground because you feel it should be acceptable in a game. If you think it's right to speak to people online in a completely different way to how you would if you were face to face then it says an awful lot about you. That or you genuinely would be fine with someone approaching a teenager and telling them that they are a piece of shit and they hope their family dies.

For every overly sensitive person, there is someone on the opposite end as well, the disgusting little keyboard warriors and they are just as responsible as the sensitive lot. It is then the people in the middle unfortunately that suffer.

I can already see what a chat room in this game would look like and it would just be spam, insults and mindless swearing. There is zero gain there for a socially normal person.

In theory I agree but this game more than most others that I've played has a particularly toxic and immature player base. It would just be a shit show.

Greedzard at its best, cant even hype us up a bit more giving out a couple free packs for the new expansion.

Totally wouldn't be surprised if they manage to patch that and I end up opening AoO packs on Launch day.  xD

They are giving free packs for it. Ironic that you call them greedy for trying to run a business but in the same breath throw your toys out the pram for not getting more free stuff. Nothing like a little hypocrisy to undermine yourself.

posted a message on Killbin or Kibler?

I personally feel that kibler is probably the better player and if I want to understand a deck I'll check him or Old Guardian out because they explain their thoughts and generally pilot decks very well.

Regis is more entertaining though and if I have YouTube on in the background or just want to watch something that isn't thought intensive then his videos are great. I watch him more than I do Kibler. He puts a lot of effort into his content and is good to watch. I think he'd do a great job on the reveal streams.

Not sure why you would need to pick between them though. They create different content which would generally cater to a slightly different audience.

0, didnt preorder and never will :)

Strange then that you would come into a thread specifically about opening pre order packs. Do you have an inferior complex? Why bother reading it or leaving this comment, it literally adds zero value to the thread or anything else? Did it make you feel a bit better to make sure a few people were aware that you don't pre order or something, maybe make you feel a bit superior in some odd way?

posted a message on Druid with 2573 armor, WTF ?!?!?!
    Quote from DiamondDM13 >>

So odd that so many people's first reaction to a cool combo is to think it needs to be taken out. I really wish people appreciated the wonder that is Combo and the ridiculous things they can do. Other playstyles cannot even begin to hope to get close to the amount of fun Combo brings.

It's a shame, Aggro, Midrange and Control are so boring in comparison, with almost every match being unremarkable. You need 500 games with these playstyles to enter a tense or memorable situation that is really enjoyable, yet with Combo, even a single game, if you pull it off, can bring you the same fun and joy with one game.

I think it's mainly due to it being very unfun to lose against and sometimes makes games feel like they are on a pointless countdown. I personally dislike playing against combo decks more than any other. Some decks just simply can't do anything and when you spend 10/15 minutes making the right decisions and controlling the game only to get cheesed down from 30 health by a bunch of discounts then it's very unsatisfying.

I get why some people enjoy them, each to their own. I just find them very uninteractive to play against. I prefer control decks and understand people don't like playing against control and I'm sure there are aggro players who bang their head against the wall after their board is cleared yet again.

posted a message on Cant host fireside event please help!!!

Have you gone to join it in game? I didn't understand how they worked at all and it was only this time around I realised that you launch the game, click on your friends list and then at the very top it let's you join your gathering. I believe it also takes an hour after you've set it up. So if you set it for 2 at 1.30 then it won't let you join until 2.30.

I could be totally wrong though

The gold packs are not included in the pity timer, from what I understand. So it wouldn't make a difference.

no offense but for me people who spend real $ in HS are just ****

Interested in what you feel the need is to post this? Does it help validate you in some way? What do you get out of it? It's a really sad attitude to have, to be prepared to say something purely to antagonise or upset someone/people with absolutely nothing to gain from it. It's a trait shared by psychopaths and not a particularly healthy way to be of you ask me.

Got 4 from the 140/both bundles, no goldens. Easily the worst I've ever done, and possibly almost the worst you can do with pity timer in mind.

Ah that's rough, sorry to hear that. Really poor luck but at least you get another 2 in golden on Thursday right?

Pro tip:  Open your packs on mobile as it is so much faster to swipe through the cards instead of clicking on them one at a time on desktop.

Just use space bar, it even pulls the next pack and opens it so you don't need to do anything except spam space bar.

posted a message on Theorycrafting Livestreams - Thursday, July 30

Because there are players, seemingly a large amount, who don't find that aspect of the game all that fun. Deck building isn't for everyone and some people don't want to spend hours tinkering and experimenting. They have children and families, work commitments etc and maybe get half hour or an hour to play.

The majority of the player base in almost any game is fairly casual. The developers HAVE to cater to this. Go on a random 10 forums for pvp based games and you'll have a bunch of them which include threads whining about casuals. I've seen it in almost every game community I've been in.

We can't all spend 8 hours playing hearthstone, we have other shit to do. Just don't watch the streams and on day 1 do all the experimenting you want. There will be plenty of people who are in a similar position to you.

    So... maybe just don't watch?

I absolutely get it if you would rather pass and wait for the expansion to drop, for your own sake. But all these posts whining about Blizzard putting on a stream for those that do enjoy them have to be somewhere in between the most childish and the most selfish thinking I've seen this week. Imagine thinking a one-night stream is going to "figure out the meta" one week before release.

It's honestly going to be built mainly by jealousy. I don't imagine any of these people would turn down the chance to play a week early, they are just bitter that other people get to.

Exact same complaints in Fifa, streamers get early access and people piss and moan that it kills the hype etc etc, just regurgitate more of the crap you see here. These are just people who are very twisted up inside because they are missing out.

The META doesn't get solved at all. We've all seen the cards, even people who don't have early access and don't watch the streams are already theory crafting and building decks, ready for day 1. Everyone in the community has this opportunity and forums etc will be alive with people discussing them. That will have a far, far bigger impact than a select number of streamers getting to play around and get watched by about 1% of the player base. But of course the people who do complain don't have the ability to consider things in a rational way or think of anything other than themselves which is why they act out and spam twitch or reddit or forums complaining about the meta getting 'solved'.

    Its so transparent.
