posted a message on Blizzard's response to the whole system revamp

credit goes to the reddit guy who posted this :

thing is it's soo well written that i do hope the ppl who are responsible for this situation will realise their errors (i'm talking to u whales, it's ur willingness to give bli$$ ur money that brought us here)..

Yeah consumers being will to give companies money is how everything works. Are you an adult? I don't mean that in a horrible way but do you like, work? Have you ever had a proper job? How much free work do you or your company do? My company don't have any free products and we rely on consumers, you know, buying stuff.... This keeps the company going and contributes to paying my wages. I need people to spend money on our products.

The naivety of free to play gamers is astounding. You don't seem to understand the world at all. Do you go the supermarket, see an offer snd kikc off because the greedy company is just trying to entice you in with offers so you spend money on other things?

Life must be so frustrating and difficult, honestly. Blizzard could come out tomorrow and say you have to pay £40 to keep your download of the game. They are well within their right to do this and you are well within your right not to pay it.

But it is THEIR product, not yours. You have zero input here, you are relying on people doing a job that has to be paid for so you can get your free packs and the game can continue. You also rely on people putting money in because without it, you would have no game and you would have to freeload off a different one but if everyone had your attitude, there would be no free games.

If you think the product is too expensive, fine, don't pay it but don't then complain about thebfree aspect. I'd fucking love a lamborghini but guess what? Lambo are greedy wankers and charge an insane amount for a car. I can buy a car for £400 if I wanted to, how dare they charge what they charge, GREED!!! No, petal, it's just their choice of product and cost. If you really don't like it then don't buy it. We literally apply this logic on an almost daily basis. I personally feel Starbucks is over priced for what it is. I don't buy it. Others do. I don't go online and complain at the whales keeping them afloat.

    Clowns.

posted a message on what will we get for free?

It's ironic that for a community that constantly bitches about the developers being greedy spend all damn year clamouring for free things in a free game.

It's embarrassing seeing some grown ass adults act the way they do.

posted a message on Are you a bad player if you havent reached legend once for 6 years?
    Quote from nexit1337 >>

back in  the day reaching legend meant something
now it's just same deck netdecked by different players one after the other

This doesn't address the OP other than maybe being interpreted as you insinuating that they are a bad player. If that's not what you mean then why hijack their thread to have a moan about the system? That's not what they asked.

To the OP no, it doesn't. It may mean you're too casual or not good enough to hit it easily but those are not the same thing as being a 'bad' player. Just because a footballer doesn't play in the Premier League, they play in the Championship, it doesn't make them a 'bad' player. They are just at their level. I have bit legend but 10 months a year I know I won't play enough to get there every month and I'm not good enough to do say a 40 and 8 streak or something and get there straight away. I do need to spend a bit of time bouncing around ranks 1 - 3 ish until I hit a decent run.

Oh christ who the fuck cares? Stick to one thread for crying out loud. This place has descended into some sort of amateur mathematics club with children spending hours arguing about averages, making up their own numbers and having bitch fits over min/max xp in a flipping card game.

Play or don't play, it's up to you. If it doesn't work for you, do something else or at least keep all your petty and boring maths debates to one thread.

posted a message on Forum has been corrupted

You're correct and it's why I now only really visit if I'm having a smoke or something and have run out of things to read or visit, or it's coming up to a new expansion. It's very rare there's any sort of interesting discussion or debate, strategy sharing or even all that much genuine game discussion. You can almost guarantee that when you load onto the homepage there's something bitchy, whiny article complaining and spreading conspiracies. I suppose its typical of whete society seems to be heading in general but yeah, this is not a place to come and discuss hearthstone really. It would help if people used the salt thread instead of attention seeking and thinking that their complaint is so special and unique that it deserves its own thread. Maybe a clamp down on that might help.

At this point this is just funny. Who would have thought some fake currency in a digital game could cause so much chaos.

posted a message on Anyone else tired of the meta?

For me it's not meta but rather overall direction of Hearthstone which is heading towards "crazy, random and casual fun", not caring about any rules of the gameplay itself. Super powerful random effects, tons of generated cards, mana cheating... The stranger and less predictable the better. it's flashy but gets old super fast.

Below is an example of my recent game against Rogue (dude played about 70 cards).

I get what you're saying and can understand why you don't like it but at the same time, I really, really do like it. For the last 5 months or so all I've really played is a casino style mage or priest. The more discover and random effects, the better. I enjoy on the fly decisions and things I can't prepare in advance for. I also like having various options because it increases my chances of beating decks that 'should' roll over me.

I'll add that I'm not dismissing you not liking it. I'd hope later ones appeal to you more. For future ones, don't buy them until you've had a chance to review the whole track and have confidence that you actually will get some value from it.

I suppose it depend son whether they still do the premium portraits. If they do then you're no worse off at all, just do as you did before.

I personally prefer it, it's nice to look at something a bit different for a change and it not rely on spending a large amount on a pre order. I think it's fair that a portrait you earn for free feels less special than one you get in an £80 bundle.

What difference does it make it to you if someone has a Jaina skin from the pass or the standard one? If you personally don't want to use it because it's boring that's fine but if other people do, why does it matter?

It matters to me because I want to buy the battle pass and I already planned to do so. I mean, Annhylde and XP boost are pretty cool, but I feel a bit scammed with the crappy heroes since I was hyped when they announced alternate skins from the battle pass.

It's not a scam. Not every single thing in it has to work for you. If enough of it doesn't then you simply don't buy it. You value the xp boost, I don't. I doubt I'll hit hit the cap but I'll try because I want the skin at the end. I don't care about 10% xp boost. Take the skins out of the track and I personally wouldn't have bought it. Anything cosmetic is either going to appeal or not appeal, I really like most of the skins and I'm really wanting the warrior one.

Maybe a future one will have cosmetics that appeal to you and not me. Some people really like the coin, again, I'm not interested in this at all and doubt I'll even change my default coin. But I knew that when I made the decision on whether or not to buy the pass. I'm not going to then complain about being scammed because something I knew was included is included and I don't like or care for it. That's not what a scam is.

"Now though, with the release of the battle pass (and to some extent Book of Heroes and Horseman Uther) it seems like they are going for quantity over quality."

    100% agree.

Man, spending to get a beautiful skin and then seeing 6 (!) new skins being added in 1 fell swoop. Like this, an alternate skin loses all value. Players won't care anymore, won't see the difference between a skin that was earned (1000-wins) and, well, just a random one. A real pity.

Also, these Jaina / Thrall skins indeed are bland.

You can't just state your opinion as fact.

    "player won't care anymore"

Won't they? Based on what? I care, why are you talking for me? I like the Jaina skin, I'm sorry you don't but just stick to expressing your opinion as an opinion and don't feel the need to speak on behalf of other people.

There is a clear difference between these skins and the 1000 wins skins. You're actually completely contradicting yourself. You say an existing 'beautiful skin' so you yourself see there's a difference but then go on to say others won't see the difference. The mere fact you're unhappy with new compared to the older clearly shows there's a difference.

If you don't like them, cool, that's your prerogative, you can save money and not bother with the paid track. Maybe a future expansion will release some you do like or something different that appeals to you.

For example, I don't give two hoots about card backs. In my opinion they are utterly pointless, I'm not bothered. I don't whinge everytime a new card back is released though, I don't complain if one is put in the store because its content I won't enjoy. I don't kick  off that part of the monthly rewards don't appeal to me. I'm not so selfish that I think everything within this game has to cater to me. It's clear other people like them and it's OK for people to like different things.

So battlegrounds perks need to be bought separately to this new tavern pass?

That is correct. You can buy the battleground perks seperately for either gold or real currency.

posted a message on Am I the only one that likes the new reward system?
    Quote from 2006Goldenpants >>
    Quote from Inzan1ty >>

Rewards for this Expansion were actually pretty generous, we got two free legendarys, Silas and a Random one, 6 free Scholomance Packs for playing Duels (only if you Pre Order Mega Bundle)  2 Darkmoon Faire Packs from watching Streamers for 4 Hours, 3 Darkmoon Faire Packs from completing the first levels of the new Reward System, and there will be another free Legendary on Level 25 and a decent looking Hero Skin for your favorite class on Level 50.

Newbies or casuals cant really complaint, its the Grinders who have reason to complaint as Activi$ion-Blizzard basically capped things down quite a bit, like hundreds of threads here have explained already in detail.

Still for Casuals or even Semi heavy active players this new System is the BETTER deal, as they get rewarded free Legendarys and free Packs, and aren't really bothered if they cant grind up to 8k- 10k Gold anymore between Expansions.

It’s far worse for casual players. It rewards hardcore players but craps on anyone who wants twenty min to do quests and get out.

Genuine question here - if you literally play to hop on for 20 minutes, do your quest and log out, why do you care? Like, you clearly aren't bothered about ladder, yiu can do those quests in casual but what do you want the gold for? Packs that you don't really need because you're so casual you can pretty much get by on budget decks like the ones Old Guardian will put out that are competitively viable?

I see this type of post a lot and if all I cared for from a game was ticking a box each day then I wouldn't concern myself with the nitty gritty of the rewards because they don't really impact me. I understand if you dip into that here and there but otherwise play semi regularly or to climb ladder for fun outside quests but I've never seen that clarification. It's always "I log in, do my quest and log out".

So genuinely, why does it even bother you? I play casually but that's still far more casual than me and as long as I'm getting semi decent amounts to get like 40 or 50 packs on expansion launch I've always been totally fine and able to make multiple decks, have dust reserves etc. You don't even need that, right?

I'm not having a go, but I'm interested to know.

Ah yes, more ''packs'' aside from the latest expansions ones, they are quite useless. Why would anybody playing this game want an Ashes of Outland pack in like way down the road in level 40-50. Lol.

Lots of people may feel the same about the classic pack in brawl. If nothing else it's extra dust? Seeing as AoO is going to be around for another year and a bit though, I'm sure plenty of new players and returning players will benefit from them.

posted a message on [Math] Old VS New Reward System [UPDATED]
    Quote from Pr1ncipe4i20 >>

Meh...really great text to explain why are u defending such a horrible system, but still your math is wrong.

I'm a legend player and used to farm in less than 1h30/40 each day playing aggro decks like Odd pally or Druid or whatever is fast to play and always achieved my 150/160/200 gold daily quest. in 7 days i had 1.120g already. in 4 months 13k+ gold + what bundle or pre order i bought each expansion wich gave me a lot of options to spend my gold on - Adventures - Old packs  or just hold the money to spend in another expansion, maybe not even the next one, like rastakan rumble, a horrible expansion that i didn't spend anything on it and saved my gold for the next one totalizing almost 60k gold in two expansions and events...so...no.
ur math is waaaaaaaaaay too wrong.
Great effort for all white knights but that's not what many ppl here are discussing about this trash new system. We want options to spend our gold, i don't care that much for packs of standard every expansion released cause or i buy bundles or pre order or I just play wild and abandon standard that's a shitshow right now.
This new system doesn't give you options, and nobody likes to grind experience. This game, the interface, everything is lookin right now like a FACEBOOK game.

Ad-Hominen attacks on people with different opinions to yours just makes your whole post seem juvenile and it's hard to take seriously.

You clearly grind the game ALOT. Far more than your average person. Yeah, maybe it isn't as good for you but you represent a really small % of the player base.

Liking the new system doesn't make you a 'white knight'. It just means you like the system. If you can't comprehend someone having an opinion that's different to your own then that's your issue and given that this is a digital card game, I would wonder how well you get on with conflict in the real world. Like, if someone at works like an idea and you don't, do you just start attacking and trashing them? Or do you reserve that behaviour for when you're behind a keyboard?

You might have a point but you've articulated it so poorly that it's pretty much just noise. Maybe engage with people and talk to them like they are adults and it might generate some genuine discussion and be a tiny part towards this community maybe steering in one direction on things.
