YourPrivateNightmare posted a message on Card Reveal - Jepetto JoybuzzPosted in: NewsDo consider that this requires you to have your combo pieces still in your deck when you play this so combos with this are about as inconsistent as those with Luna's Pocket Galaxy.
While we do have Baleful Banker to shove combo pieces back into the deck it's going to be hard to shuffle a 9-mana Malygos and also stay alive long enough to play an 8/8 with no immediate impact.
this feels more like a value card tbh. Rogue might make good use out of this, and maybe, just maybe Druid might by using Bankers and Innvervate ,but why not just do Dreampetal instead?

Shadowrisen posted a message on Open Letter: How to Run a Reveal StreamPosted in: General DiscussionOk you silly bears, listen up.
The stream is unwatchable, this much is true. But even Dr. Scabherde (spelled as God intended) could reach that conclusion. Let's attempt to be a bit more constructive.
Picture in your mind a 2x2 square graph. No, I'm not going to make graphics, use your damn imaginations.
On the horizontal line, we will graph entertainment value.
On the vertical line, we will graph informative value.
So, at the far bottom far left, we have no information and no entertainment (i.e. today's stream).
At the far top far right, we have the ideal situation (i.e. no reveal stream ever) that has probative information and high lolz factor.
At the bottom right, we have Day 9 (no shade).
At the top left, we have a hypothetical moment where Kripp shoots the people they invited and spends the stream talking about how all the new cards are complete arena-breaking garbage and how they could have been designed better.
Got it? Good
Now, how do you get to the ideal? Well . . . in the days of Ben Brode, Blizzard seemed to understand that having two people on the stream could allow the cast to be split between information and entertainment. The problem is, they never sold out to that idea. Instead of Brode plus a pro player, we got Brode plus Day 9 in a giggle fest, or Brode plus Kibler, which was closer but still far from ideal (although to be fair, without the Gul'dan burning memes, no one would remember that stream either).
So they had Brode . . . now they don't. I admire Peter Whalen's willingness to hoist himself on the stake and light a match, but you can only watch a guy burn for so long before you just feel dirty.
I think they have the potential to get plenty of players in for analytical perspective, but I don't know how you get the Brodeism back.
I am a child of the 90s, which means I have seen the use of every gimmick in the book to try to drum up interest. Anyone remember Mick Foley at the World Cyber Games 2005/06ish? We couldn't repel cringe of that magnitude, nowadays. Having lived thru the abortive attempts to mainstream gaming, I'm not a fan of looking to outside talent.
Maybe there's merit in modeling the reveals after an Omnistone show, where you're going to reveal the cards BEFORE . . . not DURING . . . the games themselves. Put three or four known players (preferably some with past drama) in a room and have them argue for a bit, and then pre-con some decks and have a couple of games narrated by the players themselves. I don't know, this idea is derivative, but it solves the problem of trying to have a 75 second cheer session for each new card while the rope burns.
@ me with some ideas here. There's gotta be better ways to do this.
Frankly, I'm ready to turn back to the old days of Day 9 making funny faces into a camera if we can't do better than this.
SUBSEQUENT EDIT: I actually missed the lackey glitch. Yeah, I suppose step one is "make sure your fucking cards work". That one should go without saying.
SUBSEQUENT EDIT TO THE SUBSEQUENT EDIT:
We know it's the worst stream of all time. There's literally a thread right now called "the worst stream ever". Go there if that's all you got.

DoubleSummon posted a message on Open Letter: How to Run a Reveal StreamPosted in: General DiscussionIn the first 20 minutes of talking I was like "ok they might be wrapping stuff just to make sure everyone is on line with them, it's annoying but necessary" but then they just kept babying the audience.. EVERYONE watching the stream knows every card in the meta. (Edit maybe this is something they didn't assume.. but I mean.. people can just pause the video instead of making the gameplay annoying..)
after that initial talk it started up fine but after a while it just got agonizing.. just play, and talk between the turns.
Also I think the main mechanic of a showcased deck should be tested before a live stream, just saying.
been disappointed also by the quality of the cards, like dr. boom's scheme for example, never saw such a bad card, a good player would immediately notice how bad a card is.. but that cora is probably told to not talk bad about cards or something.. don't trust her who even heard about her?
I am not 100% sure what annoyed me so much about the stream and I really came with positive approach to it.. just couldn't bear it after the second game and on the third I turned it off, not gonna watch it again to see what tipped me off.

It's just rude to say that. You don't know how are they staffed or loaded. Or how they are paid. You just supposed everything has to be crisp from first minute you enter here.

What happen to Hearthstone artists this time? Like one card is uglier than another.
Like mostly Hearthstone cards are beautiful. Really gorgeous. But this is just sad...
1
Does anyone know, if the panther minion art also changed?
2
I guess, people were more focusing on new cards during the stream, but I personally loved new art on Power of the Wild. Besides I really like when they adjust old cards to new standards.
2
People really love bringing up best way scenarios. Like 2-3 card combos. While in life it doesn't happen that much. If I play a 3 card combo, that I've gathered on my hand, it should win me the game. Or put me on that fast track. These cards don't do that.
We'll have to see about how usable is the scheme mechanic. Since draw nrg is still really relevant in the game, keeping things in your hand for long time could really cost you.

No, they are not.
Still, being rude is bad tho.

Yeap. EU is further from Blizzard offices. Takes more time for the mailman.

5 or 6 legs in 30 packs? Dude, you should've clipped it, cause it's like the most lucky packs in history of Hearthstone!
5
Tell me more about 2 mana 2/2 poisoned stealth. Cause I only know Wasp and it costs 3.
3
Do you get 2 cards or 1, cause the opponent gets one? Cause I understood it, as each player gets 1, but in the video he implies, that you get both and the opponent gets a copy of 1 of those.
