Well, this will be my last post on Hearthpwn. I've already moved over to Out of Cards (https://outof.cards). Here's an easy way to help you decide. Despite the wonderful content, the ad and loading situation here has always been abysmal. But that's the site's business model, and I'm not really interested in who takes it over for that kind of value. Fluxflashor has already committed to no ads on outof.cards. He's able to do that because he understands how the content and community drives the site, not ad revenue. I'm following him and the community there. I trust them to do it right because they've been doing it right for years. The value here is not going to the same url out of habit. It's following the content creators you trust.
Made it to Jeppetto on heroic three times now with Rogue. First time was definitely a mediocre deck and I had gotten lucky. I quickly lost to him. Second and third times were very strong decks where I basically just toyed with the 7th boss. I still got defeated easily both times.
I'm thinking that maybe I need a heal priest where I play almost no minions, and set up a board where all he can do is ping me 4 each turn with copies. Fatigue him.
Good changes, but I still think Preparation's text should have remained the same, but the mana cost should have gone up to 1. It's a subtle, but important different. Now Preparation doesn't feel that much different from the coin. It's going the way of Innervate.
I went with What Came First... and Chickenator. The power level and flavor is just right on both. Dalaran Chicken and Golden Rooster are also both really well designed, but I'm worried they might actually see play!
Great decks, but I also don't think the meta is settled yet. Vereesa Windrunner is super powerful with Rapid Fire and Arcane Shot. I think there's a pure-aggro Hunter to be built with Vereesa as the finisher.
Also, I've been playing anti-combo control Warrior with Archivist and having a blast playing 30 minute games where I drag token Druids into fatigue. It also has enough armor to stabilize against Bomb Warrior. But it loses pretty hard to different strains of Mech Hunter.
Meta is great right now, but I'm not sure I can handle two years of Acornbearer. I think that card is single-handedly defining the meta. You can't let Druid get a board of 3+ minions or they'll start buffing it or play Soul of the Forest. Acornbearer allows for such an early flood that you either need lots of board clears or a similarly aggressive early board presence. The Forest's Aid is so powerful in the late-game because you've already spent board clears dealing with f&*%ing squirrels.
This isn't craft on day 1, but it will absolutely see play. It serves a similar function to Elise The Trailblazer and even Azalina Soulthief. I think combo and face decks are going to be pretty much dead with this rotation/expansion. Zoo will rule the day, and will drive some excellent mid-range, control, and value counters. Bomb warrior will probably be one of them. You know what generates insane value and counters having 3-4 bombs in your deck? This card.
I'm also imagining situations where you have your opponent at <5 life, and you're on a clock yourself. Play this, roll the dice, and if you get even one direct damage card you might be able to win the game on a lark. It's RNG, but knowing when to play this card is skill-based. I love it.
I'm pretty sure this is worse than Rotten Applebaum. A lot of healing is rotating out, but I still think you'd play Rotten Applebaum over this card. The redraw synergy needs to be supported by something other than Plot Twist.
Remember Recruit? Which is the exact same thing as summon? I wish Blizzard would go through and just do a consistency check on all of this text. I would be fine with them eliminating Recruit.
This is a weak card on its own (meaning it's definitely garbage in Arena). If it somehow got popular, opponents would be able to play around the trigger fairly easily. Maybe the secret archetype gets enough support to include a copy, but no one really wants that anyway. It's most interesting if there are some effects that would randomly generate it (like Hydrologist).
They should retcon Academic Espionage, Blink Fox, etc. to have the same text. Thief Rogue is pretty solidly a Tier 2 deck, and I don't expect it to become Tier 1. The text change would actually make it more inconsistent, but would make the Rogue mirror much, much, much more fun.

I'm not a fan of Lazul's Scheme even though it will probably see play in some kind of combo deck. I'm sort of at the point where I agree that 0-mana spells are inherently broken, and it's basically a humility reprint for Priest.
I like this a lot. The Fortune Teller is clearly going to be a real character. I believe her left hand is a tentacle, and we already know that she's connected to Old Gods lore.

Preparation should be nerfed to cost 1. Haunting Visions is a 1-mana discover card with the same effect that essentially costs 2.
I'm not sold on any other nerfs at the moment. Start with Prep and see what happens.

Does Khadgar work with Recruit?
