Yeah, Pyros and Doomsayers are just complete wild cards in this brawl, and often blow the game open for one side or the other.
This deck is a hoot and pretty much wrecks anything but itself. I did manage to lose to a mage once, but only because he froze my entire board four turns in a row. Blech.
The crazy combos with Power of the Wild can snowball so quickly. Four minions on the board, two buffed +1/+1 and all buffed with 2/2 deathrattles....by turn two? Or four minions on the board at the end of turn one, three with +2/+2 and one with +1/+1? Savage Roar on Turn three puts your opponent on the ropes, and within range of a couple of Starfires and Swipes to the face over the next few turns. There's not a lot they can do about it.
I was monkeying around with this deck today, and I don't see it stacking up to patron. How are you dealing with Win Axe and Death's Bite going 2-for-1 on you, virtually guaranteed? And how are you clearing our their turn 6-7 plays that flood the board with patrons?
It only takes 6 mana for them to create a 5/1, a 3/2, and two 3/3 patrons (Patron, Inner Rage, Whirlwind). If they have a Death's Bite up, it is 3/1, 2 x 3/2, 3 x 3/3. How do you clear that with this deck?
I love this deck. My first match? I completely and utterly locked down a control warrior with the elementals and frost bolts. He never played a minion, and his turn six Brawl wasn't enough to prevent a turn seven lethal. It was like fighting a target dummy.
Would that all matches go so easily.
You can't have thirty card decks without having randomness built into the cards directly. If your only element of randomness was draw order from such a small pool of cards, there simply would be far too little of it and most games would be nearly identical to the last.
Few things scare me more in the next meta than Emperor -> Alex + Charge. That reduces you to 4 health from full on an empty board, and if the warrior has either a minion on the board or a weapon, it is probably lethal. A two-card near-OTK? That is insane.
Turn X: Warrior plays Emperor, you kill it promptly
Turn Y: Warrior plays Death's bite, and kills your taunt. You don't have another in hand, but play some other solid non-taunt minions or spells and clear his board.
Turn Y+1: You die from full health. Alex + Charge + Death's Bite to the face.
This is just stupid. There is already a warrior wombo combo otk deck and rogues could theoretically deal 30 damage in one turn too, but those things hardly ever happen, so why would they happen now that there's a card that you might not even draw?
Because the potential number of OTK combos increases exponentially due to this card. Rogues in particular are going to have a field day with this. Historically the class seems to take a while to find the "optimal" solution after a new set of cards is released, but when they do, we get something like Miracle or Oil. Emperor scares the manure out of me from this point. Emperor -> Chromaggus + Prep/Sprint? The rogue gets a quarter of his deck in one shot, and a 6/8 to boot. Malygos + cheap Cold Bloods, etc? Gaah, the possibilities are endless. It is only a question of which works best.
