Dang, I was hoping Druid would get this card.

Oh wait, this expansion apparently only features seven classes by the looks of it. All Druid and Warrior have been given so far are two gimmick (Warrior) or one gimmick and one mediocre (Druid) cards that are unlikely to see much play unless there are some synergies coming. Verdant Longneck particularly annoys me. Beast Druid has never risen beyond third tier, and the last thing it needed was another five-drop, given how that slot has two solid cards from Basic/Classic (Druid of the Claw and Stranglethorn Tiger) as well as Virmen Sensei from the last expansion. Beast Druid needs 2-4 drops to replace the cards rotating out, as well as a legendary finisher, not a mediocre five drop.

posted a message on How many Un'Goro packs do you plan to buy? (Gold/Cash)

I'll have ~7500 gold and 11000 dust when the expansion hits. I already bought 50 packs and will buy 120 more, as I usually do, so around 255 packs with the freebies we will be given. This is normal for me, and should result in about half the legendaries and two-thirds of the epics, along with 7-8k dust. This will allow me to craft the few critical cards I missed, maybe one or two gold cards that I really like for whatever reason, and roll over most of my 11k dust stack.

I would be very surprised if there were not an anti-Jade tech card in this set. Blizzard has two choices.

1: Power creep, such that Un'Goro decks can beat Jade

    2: Anti-Jade tech

Since this is the first  of the rotation, they need to move the power level down so that the next two sets can creep a bit. So it should be #2.

posted a message on How Will Un'Goro Change Standard ? - Blind Speculation

To change the meta, Blizzard has to either create something stronger than Jade, or put in some anti-Jade tech. Kabal, of course, loses Reno and that is enough to reset their power level.

Since the next two expansions have to up the power level relative to UnGoro, it would make more sense if this expansion was "weak", so anti-Jade tech is probably the answer.

You get about 80 free packs per expansion from quests and bonus packs upon release. If you buy 50+60+60, you'll have everything but a few terrible legendary cards.

    That is correct.

If you are interested in upgrading, the costs are 1200, 80, and 35 dust, which is a pretty good deal if you can float the up front costs.

Wonderful art. Mediocre card. I play a lot of beast Druid, and without a lot of help, that motif is dead in standard after the rotation due to the loss of several critical cards, none of which are five drops! I'm not even sure if this card can fight it's way into a deck that already carries 2xStranglethorn and 2xDotC.

Beast Druid needs replacement 2-4 drops, card draw, and something that affords recovery if board control is slipping, not this.

You'd have to reduce the dust value proportionately. That would mean an even bigger loss of investment each rotation.

How I would make Wild cards cheaper.

1: Create two new classes of cards, Silver and Diamond.

2: As rotations hit, your rotated-out regular cards become silver, and golds become diamonds. The only way to get silver and diamond cards would be when they were rotated out.

3: The first such rotation would also upgrade all your previously rotated cards.

4: Allow purchases of Wild sets at a substantial discount in terms of gold or money

5: After this system starts, all Wild cards would be "scrapped" rather than dusted. Scrap would work like dust, but only could be used for Wild cards.

Thus, every rotation would present you with a choice: dust your cards, or have them upgraded but forfeit the dust, earning only scrap if you do eventually want to get rid of them.

Gold cards: Great change! Please do the same for fixed/random deck Brawls.

Arena to Standard: I prefer that both Wild and Arena be a rotating meta, comprised of a different collection of sets each month, or in the case of Arena, each time you draft. Have Wild be Unlimited the month after each set is released, but for the other nine months, choose three to five sets (not necessarily including Basic or Classic) and let players develop a unique meta, that would never repeat given the rate of set addition. Something similar would be fun in Arena.

Brode seems unaware that having an agro deck with the highest win rate is a much bigger problem than having a control deck with the same. Plenty of people will still play agro if it wins 47% of the time vs control because of the greater number of wins per hour (more gold, faster ranking for the 95% of players who aren't rank five or better). But if agro wins 53%, there is no reason not to play it!

I've seen a few job postings for those jobs. Being able to hit legend is one of the job requirements. They probably have a lot of legend rank players in the office. Whatever their problems are, lack of play time or skill are not among them.

posted a message on Mike Donais Part 2: More Reno Cards Unlikely in Near Future, Gadgetzan Themes, In-Dev Legendaries

I find Jade Druid to be one of the easiest decks to beat in the meta, even when I am playing control like Reno Lock or Mage, or Dragon Priest. You just have to be aggressive and realize that they are the control deck in this matchup. By the time they can go crazy with an Auctioneer it should be too late.

That being said, Auctioneer needs a nerf. My choice would be to make it read "When you cast a spell that costs at least one mana, draw a card". That would cut down on some of the insane turns enabled by Coin, Prep, and Innervate.
