Opening 255 packs. >99% chance of getting two of all the commons, about a 90% chance of getting all the rares, about a 10% chance of missing one or two. I'll get somewhere between 65-75% of the 2x27 epics, probably 8-10 non-duplicate legendaries out of the 23 possible, and around 10-12k dust. There will be roughly 15 golden commons and rares, 3-5 golden epics, and 0-2 golden legendaries.

Just hoping tomorrow is as lucky as today, because I got a golden Nozdormu (errr, 1600 dust) from the brawl pack!

Opponent conceded on turn two when I wiped his board after an all-in play in his part.

Got a Golden Nozdormu out of the free pack. Thank you Hearthstone Gods for the extra 1600 dust for tomorrow!

posted a message on How many Un'Goro packs do you plan to buy? (Gold/Cash)

    77 packs from gold

    8 free packs and counting

    50 from the pre-order

    120 from subsequent purchases

So 255 packs plus any additional freebies. That should generate 7000-9000 dust, on top of the 11000 I'll have after the refund. I hope to bank about half of it for the future. All gold earned from tomorrow is for the next expansion or the occasional arena.

posted a message on New Card - Jungle Giants (Barnabus the Stomper)

I am having a hard time seeing how this card is so great. Unless you have some card draw in your hand, it might have no impact at all even the turn AFTER you play Barnabus, let alone the turn you play him. Most of other reward cards have either direct, immediate impact on the board (warrior, priest, paladin) or cause you to go berserk the next turn (hunter, mage, shaman). Warlock and Rogue are probably the closest comparisons, with their reward being a slower, steadier advantage, but rogue's can be more immediate and controlled because it affects minions in hand, while warlock's is steady and guaranteed.

Imagine you play Verdant Longneck to complete the quest. You get Barnabus and play him the same turn. At that late point in the game, you'd typically have around three cards remaining in hand. If one of them is not Nourish or some other draw, the next turn could be very boring, because you'd have about a 1/3 chance of drawing a spell in a typical deck (zero impact of Barnabus on that turn) and about a 1/6 chance of drawing a low-cost minion, on which Barnabus's impact is minimal, probably nothing more than allowing you a free hero power or such. Basically Barnabus's effect in this case is to give you a coin flip as to whether you can have a Kun-like turn with a free fatty, or not, with the coin flips ending when either you run out of cards or you hit some card draw. If you DO have card draw like Nourish, then you *might* get an Avianna/Kun kind of turn if you hit the lottery. But on the other hand, you might just hit your spare Wild Growth and the Innervate you no longer need.

This is a weird reward card in that the reward is heavily dependent on having card draw in hand and drawing the right cards after it is played. None of the other reward cards have such a slow, draw-dependent structure.

That being said, it is certainly still powerful and it will be a fun archetype to test. Obviously, card-draw (Nourish) or card-generation (Ysera) is powerful with this quest and reward. It also makes Living Mana a little more playable, because after the quest is complete, you can actually risk having a bunch of mana crystals stolen from you by a Mass Silence or Devolve, as you no longer have much use for them.

Best card for Beast Druid yet, but nowhere near as good as Druid of the Sabre.

posted a message on Dust on rotation

I'll have about 11k. I used what I had to craft golden Hall of Fame cards and will be getting the max refund as a result. I'll have about 7700 gold and will purchase 170 packs with cash. Typically this provides me with all the commons and rares, about 3/4ths of the epics, and about eight of the legendaries, plus another 6-10k dust. The dust is generally enough to craft any critical epics and legendaries I missed, allowing me to roll my 11k stock, but this time I think the quest system is going to force me to dig into those stores.

posted a message on Final Un'Goro Card Reveal Stream This Friday - Don't Miss It!

It's Druid and Warrior that are lagging. 3 and 4 reveals respectively, and not much of a clue as to what their post expansion decks will look like other than that classic control warrior may be viable again.

With the Finja (water) package, Gentle Megasaur is going to be insane!

Attack with Finja, get a either 2xBluegill Warrior or 2x Murlock Warleader or one of each. Play a third Murloc from your hand, then Gentle Megasaur. If two out of those three are Bluegills, you've got a good chance of winning on the spot. If not, you can protect your Murlocs for another turn and will probably win then.

Without any synergy, this seems a tough card to use. Of course, it's obvious use is to use it as a replacement for Savage Roar as a finisher, but there are two problems

1: You only have a 53% chance of getting either +3 attack or windfury, or a 30% chance of getting a specific one of the two

2: In close cases, calculating whether either or both is enough for lethal in a timely fashion is going to be a challenge. It can be hard enough when there is only one calculation to run with Savage Roar.

3: Casting Evolving Spores before your minions attack (as you would in this case) renders the stealth option almost entirely useless, so you might get stuck choosing between two nearly useless options

This card just seems too unreliable to me. It's going to be a dead card in your hand quite often, and when you do play it, it is often going to be a coin flip as to whether you get anything terribly useful or not.

It might be worth more in this context because some or all the minions you would be adapting would be able to attack the turn you cast the spell. This is worth more than adapt as part of a minion, with without charge means you cannot take advantage of the adapt until your opponent has a turn. Poisonous, +3 attack, or the 2x1/1 deathrattle could be very powerful or create some major board states when applied as an add-on spell to active minions.

I'd also say that adapt is worth slightly more than one mana even as part of a minion. Verdant Longneck is probably cleanest example of adapt, and there the adapt turns a terrible four-drop into a mediocre five-drop in isolation.

What? I thought we had only eight classes, and Blizzard had thrown all the druids out into the wild somewhere to commune with nature!

I like the art on this one as well. May the Druid Gods bestow a golden shroom upon me. It reminds me of my favorite art, Tree of Life.

If a Elemental Shaman curves 6-7-8, how do you win? That's removal + fat body three turns in a row! Other than "kill them by turn six", it's not clear what you do against that.

No, I am mocking the fact that we've had such unbalanced card reveals, combined with the fact that the cards revealed for the lagging classes are underwhelming. The other seven classes have had 4-6 reveals including at least one legendary, and with such at least one (or two for shaman) archetypes revealed. I have no idea what Druid or Warrior will look like after the expansion, because the cards that have been shown are pretty lame.

Living Mana intrigues me. I'd love to see a Druid archetype based off mana manipulation, with minions, spells, and card draw that fed off mana gain, excess mana, etc. But such an archetype would need a lot of cards, and we are nowhere near that point at this time. Verdant Longneck, as I noted earlier, is crap without some sort of synergy (like a Brann or Fandral for adapt), and even then it might not be good enough to displace the five-drops Druid already has.
