You say that racial biases should be dealt with reactively but I have to say from your comment history you don't come across as massively keen on reacting to it at all apart from downplaying or denying it. If you don't think a problem exists I guess you never have to react to it.

I get that the idea that straight white men are somehow a  persecuted group is a common belief among people who don't think ethnic minorities have it bad (or even, as you have suggested, actually have it better than white people). I understand that it's a position you could convince yourself of if you only read certain parts of twitter or select opinion pieces from specific media outlets. But it doesn't really match up with any rigorous socioeconomic or demographic data. And, on a personal note, as a straight white male I can confidently say I have never felt discriminated against in my life although I appreciate that's purely anecdotal.

I think that the fact that racism exists in other countries doesn't mean it can't be looked at in the USA. I don't think that's a crazy view to have. I don't really see how any countries would progress if they had to wait for other countries to sort out all their issues first.

But, to be clear, from your second paragraph you believe that black people encounter no negative biases in the USA or, if they do, it is primarily from other black people?

So you think everyone is a bit racist (which I agree with) but you think the idea that this inherent racism could lead to a degree of systemic bias by the dominant ethnicity in a country is bullshit? I feel you're not following your initial thought through to the logical conclusion there.

And I mean I guess I'm happy to apply this theory to any country? I'm sure it holds in almost any country, it's not like I think it only happens in white-majority countries. I'm just speaking as someone who lives in a majority-white country who doesn't have a whole lot of knowledge of the race dynamics of, say, Democratic Republic of Congo so I prefer to focus on my own society first. The idea that you could say racism happens in other countries so therefore why are we discussing it here seems like classic whataboutery to me.

It's not an inherently racist statement to say All Lives Matter, obviously, I wouldn't call someone racist for saying it.

I guess the main point though is that obviously all lives matter, it's a complete truism and redundant to say it and it isn't something that BLM is denying. The point of BLM (and you can argue about the naming of it, I certainly don't think it's the best) is that it's specifically about conditions and treatment that black people face that other ethnicities don't, or experience to a lesser degree. So if your reaction to that is to say well, actually, ALL lives matter as if that wasn't apparent already then I guess I would feel you're either not fully aware/engaged with what BLM is actually about, or you disagree with it. Clearly neither of these things make anyone a racist on their own, it is perfectly possible to disagree with BLM and not be racist. Although, equally clearly, if you were racist you would almost certainly disagree with it.

The waters are muddied further by the fact that All Lives Matter has become adopted a counter-slogan to BLM by groups that are explicitly opposed to BLM. However it is also used by groups that are broadly in support of BLM so yeah, it can be confusing. Personally I don't get why, if you generally understood and agreed with the principles of BLM, you would feel the need to state All Lives Matter, so I generally assume people who say it don't support the ideas behind BLM. But that is a value judgement on my part and may be wrong in many cases.

So is your issue with the naming and intent of the BLM movement specifically? Do you agree with the general idea that racism is present, consciously or unconsciously, across many levels of American society and has been historically?

Jesus Christ, well this has certainly had the effect of revealing what views lurk beneath the surface of many of the regulars on this site. The levels of equivocation and straw-manning are pretty mind-blowing.

Why does anyone have an issue with deck tracker? It literally accomplishes the exact same thing as writing it down with pen and paper, while just being much easier, cleaner, and more convenient.

How is something that is only there to GREATLY improve quality of life a problem?

IDK, I don't really like deck tracking. I know it's not a popular opinion because most people on here do it but in my opinion your ability to keep track of plays and know what's in your deck should be down to your ability to read the game, familiarise yourself with your deck and keep track of what's happened. I think those things are a form of skill and/or ability that deck-tracking completely removes. It's not a QoL thing for me because it directly affects gameplay and in-game decisions. Obviously you could do the same thing by writing stuff down but hardly anyone who currently uses a tracker would do that because it takes a degree of time and effort, whereas having a deck tracker app takes none. Whatevs, I know I'm fighting a losing battle on this but just my thoughts.
