Astrologian is a defensive class that excels in finding out what their opponent up to, manipulate with all cards in hands and decks. Their game plan is usually long and thoughtful, often involving fatigue and combos. Near the end of the game, you usually know the exact order of your remaining deck!
Acolyte of Clarity is the best example to showcase the keywords.
The obvious keyword is Enhance, which is pretty straightforward. If I used my hero power before I
Summon
(not play) Acolyte of Clarity, this minion gains
taunt
.
"Reveal", "Revealed" and "Unrevealed" is an elaboration of existing mechanic, but I don't consider them as a keyword, just like heal is not a keyword itself. Here is a quick reference to what considered as "Revealed Card"
Cards revealed by hero power
Cards revealed by
Joust
Cards revealed by Spiteful Summoner
Prince Malchezaar
Aquarius shows Astrologian's unique way to draw.
Royal Road shows how Astrologain interacts with their own deck. There will be more cards interact with the bottom of your deck, such as draw from the bottom of your deck.
Celestial Portal shows how Astrologain interacts with opponent's revealed card.
Ifrit, Lord of the Inferno represents Astrologian's late game and
combo
game plan. They can also make an otherwise risky play because they know what cards their opponent is holding.
Hey there, so you want to become an Astrologian, master of decks? A class that can manipulate their deck, a class that can foresee future and defeat opponent in the most elegant way? You have come to the right place! Come in, let me show you more!
Look, she is our most successful fellow. What makes her special you ask? Every Astrologian can anticipant their destiny, but only the good one can react to what they know and speculate what they don’t. Too hard? Don't worry, it is easier than it sounds in practice. Practice and success will knock your door one day!
What makes us so proud of our profession? Unlike those blood-thirsting-treasure-looting-uncivilized chimpanzees, we take every step like playing chess, we disarm threat and pull off combos like nobody can! You thought fighting Nidhogg was risky and suicidal? Not if you are an Astrologian!
Too boring? Too slow? Go away and join those pirate gang, Astrologian is not for hasty folk! Are you still there? Made up your mind already? Want to see what we ACTUALLY do? Good! Let me show you the friends of every Astrologian - Aquarius!
Aquarius, not only it is a 1 mana 1/3, it draws you card! We Astrologian, master of deck, love cards! **Cough, Cough** What? You don't know what is "Revealed Card"? It shouldn't be new for you! Haven't you heard Spiteful Summoner and Raven Familiar?
Understand what you already know and what you don't is essential for a successful Astrologian Career, let me elaborate!
Revealed Card is a Card that is previously shown in the match. As I said, Cards revealed by Spiteful Summoner or Raven Familiar are now, obviously, Revealed! Those champion who show up in
Joust
Tournament also count as Revealed. Remember that uninvited-unwelcomed Malchezaar taunted everyone upon his arrival? He is also Revealed! What about those revealed by our hero power? Of course, they count!
"Reveal", "Revealed" and "Unrevealed" is the basic of Astrologian, it shouldn't be hard for a bright boy like you!
Want to learn more about your opponent's doomed destiny? No Problem!
Let their deck speaks to you, soon, your opponent can no longer surprise you, as we Astrologian, master of decks, always know it all! Wait … what is Enhance? Forgive me, I thought I've told you, we Astrologian always spend time look upon the future but sometimes, we need react to the immediate situation and we usually react with "Enhance".
Let's use Acolyte of Clarity as an example, if I play it after I used my hero power that turn, Acolyte of Clarity will now also have
taunt
. With Enhanced minion sweep out all the trouble, we can spend more time to gaze the far-far future and inventible victory.
Now you have learned the art of anticipation, let me show you the craft of Manipulation!
Royal Road is flexible, just like Astrologian. Is your hand not doing the job for you? Send them away, take a deep breath and come back later, we can always revisit what we left off when the time is right. Sometimes we just need to slow things down and let things to solve themselves, I am talking about your opponent! There are some battles that are decided by who can survive longer (i.e. Fatigue), with Royal Road, we always have upper hand in those prolonged fight.
Be aware, we Astrologian don't shuffle cards
, why disrupted a known and victorious future when you can just send cards? The order is always the remain, the rightmost card in your previous hand is always the new last card, second-rightmost is the second to last and so forth. What is the implication you ask? Haha, it's too early for you, but you will find out one day!
Can we manipulate our opponent? Of course, we can!
After learning what your opponent's trying to achieve, it is time to make sure they can never succeed. Do you want to be just like me? Someday, but not today I afraid!
Oh, I don't realize it is this late already! I rarely talk this much, I think I really liked you. You have learned how to anticipate and how to manipulate, let me show you a final trick before we say goodbye today.
Ifrit, oh Ifrit. What a powerful creature yet still under our control. We Astrologian, the master of decks, excel in finding out what our opponent up to, therefore we can make some otherwise risky play such as playing a big minion. Not only that, we can play big minion faster than anybody else because of our hero power. With all the excess mana we can chain some
combo
and finish the battle in the most elegant way!
Are you interested in being an Astrologian now? Come back next time then I will teach you more!
Thanks for your comments! I don't realize all number on portal cards are same before, thanks for that! I will also check my grammar and spelling again before I submit.
Just came up with a Legendary minion that can fit all rules to replace that dragon.
This is a high-risk-high-reward elemental that have great synergy with firefly.
Due to the nature of Astrologian, you can always find a right time to play Ifrit. If opponent can't deal with it on time, they probably lose next turn.
New Class: Astrologian (Origin: Final Fantasy XIV)
You will see a lot of "Reveal", "Revealed", "Unrevealed" in Astrologian card, but it is not something new, thanks Spiteful Summoner!
So, what is a revealed card? Here is a list of example.
Cards revealed by your hero power
Cards revealed by Jouist
Cards revealed by Spiteful Summoner
Prince Malchezaar
A known card created by other card (i.e. Decks of Wonder, Jade Idol)
The Cards:
Aquarius
Astrologian's main draw engine. Your opponent's decide how many card you will draw, not nearly as useful as Northshire Cleric.
Royal Road
A very diverse card draw. Net draw three if your hands are empty, never overdraw and save you from fatigue in some very niche situation.
Astrologian has many way to interact with bottom of your deck, for example, draw card from the bottom of your deck.
Send is not shuffle! Shuffle cards into your deck is randomized, on the other hand, sending card will not mess up with your draw and the order will remain (i.e. when using Royal Road, your right most card will always be the bottom card)
Acolyte of Clarity
"Corrupted" version of Acolyte of Pain.
After few combat, opponent's hand will be all known to you, there will be now surprise because Astrologian always knows it all!
But you can still be salty about topdeck
Entry Quote: "Let your deck speak to me"
Celestial Portal
A three mana portal that can slow your opponent down and straight up make their combo impossible.
Who doesn't love random 2-costs minion? (The end is coming!)
Dravanian Horde
Not the most exciting card, but I need to include a Dragon card somewhere, so there it is.
Just don't post there until you're ready to submit your entry
Your custom class doesn't need to be WoW related at all. You can make absolutely anything (except Death Knight, Monk or Demon Hunter obviously), WoW related or not. "Deathwing Needs a Friendwing" is just the name of the competition. I'm pretty sure it's just for flair rather than anything else, so don't worry too much about it.
What does turn both players' deck up-side-down mean?
Both players know what card comes next, the order of drawing will also be changed.
For example, before you use Cataclysm, your deck have 3 cards, being Ysera, Alexstrasza and Nozdormu (in order), after using Cataclysm, the order becomes Nozdormu, Alextrasza and Ysera, and Nozdormu will immediately be visible to your opponent.
Use Cataclysm again will reverse this effect, something that the player can play around - I need a board clear, I knew the next card is not what I need, use Cataclysm and pray for RNG; or I have a good board and opponent's next card is flamestrike, Cataclysm him so it becomes the last card of his deck.
4 mana summoning 4 1/1 is not great (why not summon a 7/7?), it just compensate the tempo lose of using this card. Imagine if Shadow Form gives you a 2/2 body on top of its effect, it will become a good card, same logic.
4 Aspects will be Nozdormu, Alextrasza, Ysera and Kalecgos. They are 1/1 because they lost their immortality for the lore sake.
Leftovers of my class creation submissions. As there are no rule against anything that have been submitted before or limited to WoW background, here they are. If this is not allowed, please let me know.
More than a tec card, but the meta is so dominated by weapon class right now, it becomes a marginal-auto-include in lots of mid range deck
"Okay" stats for a 5 drop, strong counter to weapon class by discarding your opponent's Smorchammer, Truesilver Champion, or just all weapon in general.
It also make your opponent think twice about equipping a new weapon, as they will take 4 damages for that. Given that the nature of weapon is trading life for tempo, the deathrattle effect is threaten enough but not straight out OP (I Hope)
10 mana Harris Jones combo.... not really, it will only work against non-weapon class. 2 mediocre 5 drops, draw 1 card and deal 4 damage to your opponent is not a strong turn anyway.
Rare for the sake of arena
Might be needed to nerf a bit by raising Excalipoor attack to 2 or lowering the deathrattle damage
This is a card inspired by previous tavern brawl. One thing we learnt is, more minions you have on board, more likely the random spell effect will work against you; so, control mage, being one of the archetype (if not the most) that is least reliant on minion, this card is likely to work in their favor against early aggression.
This card create an "arena", "battle field" like effect and I think Karazhan is the best representation of this magical effect

Servant of Yogg travel brawl revived! With some RNG, Zoo and Aggro deck cannot reach you, by the time control mage will have stabilized and do the control mage things.
The reason I make this a Mage card is that, although Mage is a spell heavy class, Yogg-Mage does not seen as much play as Druid or Rouge, I think a extra push can make Yogg-Mage more appealing .
Obviously you want to include two or none of this card and you want to include Yogg-Saron, Hope's End rather than this card almost in all situation (except who cannot affort a Yogg and still want to try him out).
This card definitely belongs to Yogg theme deck, whose will include lost of spell spam anyway, playing this card higher than 0 cost is a tempo loss, 2 cards in exchange for one Yogg (with condition) is not a strong value play either.
This card will make Yogg-Saron mage mirror match up more complex, as this card also benefit your enemy.
Given such consideration, this card will not make Yogg-Mage the best Yogg deck, but still make it viable by providing some special identity compare to Rouge (who can abuse shadow step) and Druid (who can Ramp).
Edit: Wait, am I allowed to post this reply after the submission finished?

What is the restrictions? Is the submission strictly required to associate with WOW universe?
And what does the theme "deathwing needs a friendwing" mean? Is it one of the scoring criteria? Thanks!
