At this point the only fun part about this game is opening packs, and even that is a pretty crappy experience what feels like 90% of the time.

posted a message on Hearthstone no longer heroes of warcraft?¿?
    Quote from Runior1298 >>

The Warcraft vibe is something that gave this game a head start against other computer CCGs. As long as this connection remains, I don't care if my deck consists of strange creatures of weird races as long as I top them with Ragnaros or Ysera. When they are gone, I'm gone too.

Without Warcraft lore and with seasonal card rotation, this game has nothing on its competition.

While I'm not discounting your opinion, it was the exact opposite sentiment for me. I was hesitant to give this game a chance because of the WoW connection (since I'd never played it) because I felt like there would be too much to need to catch up on to enjoy it. Instead I found out the game was enjoyable enough for what it is, and that the lore isn't really that important.

    @Tze

To your entire third paragraph: That isn't the "status" quo" of your vaguely defined community, that's the internet in general. There is nothing extra dickish about hearthstone players. The morons in twitch chat spamming TriHard when a black person gets on stream don't do it because they're racists, they do it because they get to laugh at people like you who piss themselves when they do it. And when you try to stop them (which you can't do) they only do it more, because you're trying to throw water on a grease fire.

At one point I agreed with Tze that if you do not condemn certain behavior, then you condone it. That is a pretty heavy handed way to live your life and it sucks the fun out of your day and pretty much any conversation you find yourself in. You'll be hearing "I bet you're really fun at parties" pretty frequently.

I find myself more in agreement with Pmanda these days as I have been in various circles online and have come to recognize there are plenty of people out there who are willing to say the most terrible things they can think of just for a laugh. It isn't always because they're sexist, racist, or whatever, but it's as Pmanda stated, they are doing it because they know someone is going to freak out over it. Not only will they get that immediate enjoyment out of it, there's also the possibility that some entity like Buzzfeed may pick it up and make an article about it, giving that person an even greater laugh as people come out of every corner of the internet to defend or admonish their behavior.

I'm not saying that it's pointless to speak out against something you see or hear and disagree with, or that we should just accept the internet or our gaming communities as they are, I'm only suggesting that crusading against every little thing isn't doing any cause justice. My personal stance on the matter and my friendly advice? Be the change you want to see in your communities by not engaging in the behavior you disagree with, and take to the proper channels (mods, reports, etc) to oppose it, but do not ever take the bait or feed the trolls.

It's very frustrating  when they say "thanks" or "greetings" after they use a tier 1 cancer deck in CASUAL and win vs my shitty enrage mission deck and I don't have the time to answer back anything because they do this right before the final screen... AAARGHH!!!

Probably someone who isn't used to winning.

This shouldn't come as a surprise, but Evolve Shaman is trash. You're sitting here, just trying to pull off an Evolve play that's even partially worthwhile and when you finally hit it and you're looking at your board of garbage, you think:  "You know, if this card was Bloodlust instead of Evolve, I'd have just won."

posted a message on Blizzard printed some cards that were similar to some custom cards I made before!

I don't think OP is suggesting anyone ripped them off, just that there are some similarities in their custom content to actual released cards.  Why is everyone so upset about them pointing this out?  It's not like OP is on here ranting and demanding Blizzard pay them for their contributions. I find it unlikely that the devs at Blizzard spent a whole lot of time looking over fan-made creations and it's likely none of them have ever seen these custom cards, but it's also possible they did. Either way, there's no reason to come on here and flame the person. I thought the idea of making custom content was to make it so balanced that it could actually see play, in which case it looks like OP did a decent job.

posted a message on shaman shaming

It isn't a player's responsibility to ensure the playing field is level by omitting certain cards/decks from their strategy. It's on the card developers to provide a balanced product. If there is a really cheap or powerful character/deck in a game, you can't fault people for choosing it. Now, if your friends are queuing up with you for casual, friendly matches and playing Midrange Shaman against you, you would be well within your rights to say "Hey dude, not cool" but you can't really expect the same treatment from strangers whose primary objective is to win.

Either you will have saved gold for the new expansion and spend it now on this Heroic Brawl, thus prompting you to spend money when the new set releases, or you'll spend money now for the Heroic Brawl to save gold for later. Either way you are spending some money, which is the goal here.

Or you don't play the brawl and just use your saved gold for the expansion.
That's certainly what I'll be doing, but I'm speaking more in terms of the impulsive people who are delusional enough to think they will get their money's worth out of this. Likely the casual player who doesn't hang around on forums like this one and thinks they may actually stand a decent chance of winning it all because they win fairly consistently in rank 20+. You know, the kind of player this game, and nearly every decision regarding it, is made for?
