posted a message on How I would rework the rogue class (DEBATE)

Some of your ideas I really like. In particular, your changes to Goblin auto-barber and Defias Ringleader seem especially interesting. Perhaps Defias would need to be increased in cost by one with the stat buff you have in mind because with the coin it is both parts of a harvest golem in one go. It would still be a decent turn 2 play with the coin like SI:7 is and I think he might still be good at 3 mana if you can combo him.

The Goblin autobarber combo sounds awesome especially as you can't play on turn 2 if you want to get advantage from the battlecry anyway so adding stuff to keep up its relevance in the later game sounds good.

Some of the cards you suggested changes too are already pretty good and maybe the changes you suggest are either too drastic or too overpowered (at least at the same mana cost). Your sinister strike idea sounds interesting but I wouldn't want that card changed because it is so important as part of the Malygos win condition. It could be a decent idea for a new card though.

I found this thread because I had my own idea for a new rogue card. Instead of making my own thread I will add it here.

It is a 5 mana 3/3 with a special effect. Battlecry: Shuffle 3 cartel coins into your deck

Cartel coin is basically a normal coin with a cantrip effect. Instead of a battlecry it could also be a "when drawn" style card like Flame Leviathan. The card's flavour is to do with the Goblin cartels but I only got into wow lore after trying Hearthstone so I haven't come up with a final name for the card yet. The idea for this card comes from adding 3 new combo starters into your deck, which also give you a bit more mana flexibility while adding more card draw to your deck (although it makes your deck bigger so this is not really a big deal unless if you run Gadgetzan - in fact a card like this could make Gadgetzan quite viable again).

posted a message on What was your worst and best moment of the December 2014 Season?

I have two best moments. The first one I had my brother round and we did an arena together which was quite fun. Together we managed to get 12 wins with shaman (a draw that included 3 fire elementals, Hogger and Al'akir also helped). Second was crafting Malygos because spell-based decks are my favourite. This led to killing a huge Bolvar with a 7 damage backstab! Quite satisfying.

There haven't really been any particularly bad moments, but it was pretty galling when I completely screwed up my functional control warrior from the previous season with new gvg cards and I lost a billion games in a row with it or something like that. (In fairness I'm not very good with that deck anyway but I'm improving slowly mainly thanks to this site.)

One honourable mention goes to getting a golden Hemet Nessingwary among my first card packs. Silly Hemet.

posted a message on How often is it for people to add you after a match just to insult you?

I know. It was probably a 1/10 so it was fortunate for me and bad for him, but it is something my deck was meant to be able to do with reasonable consistency anyway. The game hinged on a good topdeck on that particular occasion though. Most of the time though you either have the flamestrike in your hand a few turns in advance or its at the bottom of your deck when you need it.

I can see why that would be frustrating. However, sometimes I want to emote sincerely but it is difficult to know how it will come across. For instance, earlier I was playing a Paladin with my spare parts Antonidas/Gazlowe deck (I'm aware of the oncological nature of the deck). We had both played well with me probably having the upper hand (just), until he made a power turn around turn 12. Before this point I had board control but he managed to fill his board and make a modest quartermaster play against my two 2 damaged mech yetis and a Gazlowe. That turn took away a likely win from me and made it anyones game. In fact he probably would have won with that board. It was at this point that I topdecked a flamestrike and wiped his board and got insta card advantage and I felt bad for him. It was pure fortune that won me that game so I emoted "sorry".

I was tempted  not to because I know some people don't like it but I felt it would be even douchier to not say sorry.

posted a message on Is BGH must in control Warrior deck? What do you think?

Zoo can sometimes be running sea giants too so another aggro deck has a bgh target. Still not sure its essential in control warrior. I have been trying to run crush instead with mixed results.

Dr Boom is good in Druid too as the tokens go nicely with Savage roar, Cenarius etc. The added potential of board clear from the bombs makes up for another of druid's drawbacks.

Therazane seems to be the worst card imaginable. If you get 3/6 stats for 7 mana, the card text better be good. Well, it isn't. All you get to show is usually 1-2 rockbiters, hardly justifies that seven mana you  spent on a 3/6. It could be improved if you increased the health by 4 and attack by 1. Or keep it as is and add the effect to summon an earth elemental as a battlecry.

Maybe Therazane would be better as a 6 mana 3/6 with overload (1) or even a 5 mana minion with same overload. Gazlowe is a 3/6 for 6 by way of comparison.

Tyrande and Therazane seem the best. Those extra rockbiters would be fun to play with in either Al'akir/doomhammer decks and also Gazlowe decks. Interesting card designs :)

posted a message on Wrath or Anodized Robo Cub?

I run both wrath and cub for this reason. Wrath is probably more useful most of the time but the cub is a fair drop to combo with grove tender on turn 4 (or turn 3 with the coin) or is a good 2 drop if I don't get wild growth. My favourite opening is usually turn one, coin robo cub, turn 2 wild growth and then either grove tender + wrath/hero power/ another cub or a proper 4 drop like yeti.

You're right that its not a "ramp" style card but I think it makes my deck more reliable in the early game.

posted a message on The New Metagame - What's it like?

theChiv is doing a video series called meta report at the moment (latest episode - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8J0YI-rfOs)

I find it quite helpful as I don't play on the ladder too much so it supplements my limited personal experience really nicely. He covers each class highlighting some of the most important cards and explaining how they fit in new decks and then he covers neutrals the same way.

I haven't gotten very high on the ladder this season but most of my success has come with a ramp druid with Grove Tenders and Anodized Robo Cubs.

posted a message on [GvG]Spare part ramp druid! Any feedback appreciated! :)

I love Cenarius too, he was my first class legendary from a pack and it made me give druid a try and now I use him all the time in ramp druid. Glad to hear it working out. I have clockwork gnomes in my spare part druid deck right now but I might take them out and add one wild growth and cenarius to give it a bit more late game. I too find it easy to generate loads of spare parts so I think I could do without the gnomes

What about stuff like Wild Pyromancer to give you more control over triggering your mech bear cats? Unstable ghoul could be another viable option. I have a similar deck where I use those instead of wild growth and Cenarius. I haven't tested it much on the ladder though so I don't know if its better than what you already have. Anyway, I like your deck thanks for posting it.

Edit: I did consider Cenarius in my deck as an extra win condition but I thought he might be too slow. How are you finding him?

posted a message on Need a workaround for priest

I'm no expert and I haven't played control warrior in very high ranks yet, but whenever I am against a priest I try to make sure that before I play a minion that they might try to steal I always have some kind of removal or silence in hand. If possible, when you predict a minion steal either through mind control or cabal shadow priest or whatever you can trade in such a way that it leaves your minions less desirable so long as it's not too inefficient. An example of this could be, your sludge belcher is on the field at full health against the priests 4/3 injured blademaster. You could Execute the blademaster and go for face or whatever with your sludge belcher, or you could trade, leaving it a 3/1 which the priest might not want to steal anymore.
