I'm not really a fan of them due to the frequency that they're used in a non-genuine manner.  I'm pretty sure if someone sarcastically said "Thanks" when they beat me in a real life game of MTG I'd have words for them.  But all I can say is "well played" or "Hello" which you know, doesn't really provide you with any sort of meaningful expression.

Oh yeah? Would you "throw down" in real life if someone said "Thanks" in a game of Magic the Gathering?

Since this game is based on luck is it alright to blame your loss based on randomness?

You can blame it on whatever you want...RNG, your little brother, your cat rolling over the keyboard, Jesus descending from heaven and asking you if you have a minute to hear about the good word...It doesn't matter. There's no emote for "I had bad RNG." There's no one to complain to but yourself.

I agree with OP. Anyone who beats me is a cheap, no skill, talentless noob. If they haven't spent years and gallons of money (yes, gallons) acquiring large and varied collections, how dare they beat me with a shaman totem deck. Can you believe these noobs basing a shaman deck on totems? I mean, how lame is that right?

I don't consider Blizzard to be the good guy making some forgivable errors but a well organized machine of power politics luring people with unbalanced decks into a game, giving them easy winfix, while the negative attention that it generated ("whining") contributes to the "good" of more attention, therefore more influx of players, causing even more revenues. Blizzard must do a better job in balancing the game. The good guy must do a better job in being good. The deliberate production of unbalanced promodecks like facehunter, Mech Mage, Patron Warrior, aggro/midrange Shaman and Zoolock now isn't really helping.

Wow, "a well organized machine of power politics luring people with unbalanced decks into a game, giving them easy winfix." That's some high level paranoia right there.
I actually am a new player to Hearthstone and until I started playing I didn't know anything about the meta nor these ridiculous conspiracy theories you propose that were engineered to attract me to the game. I had seen advertising for the game many times since it was released and wasn't really interested. I didn't try the game out until more recently because one of my friends was playing it. Ermagerds! The Secret Illuminati Cabal marketing campaign worked!
As far as your theory that these "promodecks" were supposed to have attracted me to the game, when I didn't even know what classes were in the game much less "promodecks", let's actually look at these promodecks.
Most of the common variations of these decks use adventure expansion cards. That's 50 bucks right there. Or you could grind until your eyes bleed like...A LOT. Months for a dedicated player, probably closer to a year or more for a casual player. On the lower end of the spectrum for these decks, you're looking at 2000-5000 dust conservatively. I couldn't dust my entire collection for nearly that much...and if I did...I would be left with just my basic cards and one single deck.

Promotional archetypes aka promodecks are decks deliberately devised by DEVS to promote a certain class or classes. We had not so long ago secret - eboladin and patron warrior. Now aggro-midrange shaman en zoolock are swarming the meta. Promodecks seems to have nothing to do with game requirements but have economic reasons  to increase the playerbase by luring people to the game with cheap, low skill and easy laddering ultra strong decks.

    1. How exactly is Blizzard "luring" new players to the game with "cheap" decks, when new players know next to nothing about the meta before they start playing? I just started playing recently and when I started HS, I had no idea what "zoolock" or "aggro shaman" was.

    2. They're not actually that cheap unless you have no qualms about dusting every single free (and good) card you get, so you can construct one single deck. I'd be lucky if I dusted my entire collection and could craft a single legendary. I think your definition of "cheap" is a bit...off.

    3. These are metas made popular by players, not an evil cabal of devs who just want your money.

    4. Also, of course Blizzard wants money. They're a game company. They makes games...for money. McDonalds makes cheeseburgers because they want money and people want cheeseburgers. Shocking stuff.

New player here, haven't even unlocked all of the basic cards. Being matched against players throwing down rares and epics left and right and 5+ legendaries in a game? (literally was my last game) Regular occurrence.

Unfortunately, the game has been out for a few years now.  Its not really our fault if you just started playing now.  Many players started out the exact same way you did, and have spent the last few years building up their collections.
I didn't say it was anyone's fault that I just started playing. I didn't even say it was unfair. Although being matched against players who "have spent the last few years building up their collections" as you put it, does seem kind of crappy.
I'd rather be playing against another player based at least loosely on skill instead of playing against someone's wallet.

    Quote from Alexincoming >>

    -snip-

So yeah, I enjoy ladder more than arena because I have almost a full collection of cards and can actually see potential in more than just 30 cards.

If you want my opinion of how to stop net-decking, I think that Blizzard should start implementing some sort of punish for these cancerous types of players.

You realize MOST players have nowhere near "almost a full collection of cards" right? I'm sorry everyone else hasn't invested the time and/or money to be as original as you.

It sounds like you don't think you deserve to be beaten by these "net decks." If you're repeatedly playing against the same cheap decks, then why not devise a cheap counter-deck. Since you have "almost a full collection", it shouldn't be hard.

As a relatively new player, I've been repeatedly and constantly matched against players slapping down rares, epics and multiple legendaries left and right in the same game. I played a game recently, where a player whipped out a Reno Jackson when I had nearly killed him. Did I concede when he regained full health and I was down to 12 and could have been killed in a single turn? Nope. I kept playing...and he ended up conceding...against my "cheap" basic deck, which was based on a net deck (le gasp!), but since I didn't have anywhere near the cards called for was mostly substituted with cheap commons, using a similar principle.

Does this make me one of those "cancerous types of players" you claim you are being beaten by? How exactly should I be original? Should I dust my entire card collection for a single Yogg Saron so I can be whacky and innovative?
