Probably want to drop the Obsidian Statues if you really want to build off the Zerek. Otherwise you're very likely going to get and repeat the Obsidian (at least that was my experience).
Well, luck definitely is harder to come by at the start of a month :-)
What kind of Control Mage would you suggest that has (or can easily swap in) the Plated and the Rotten? I tried Big Spell for a bit today, and it seemed like just as I was getting to turns 5 and 6 I was too close to dead to really get the momentum back.
Have been playing around with several since I am nearing enough wins for my "Golden" hero, but it seems nothing is playing more than about 50%. I'm willing to admit part of it may be me, but it seems like when I'm playing a control variant I keep going up against aggro, and vice versa. Assume that means I should be looking for a mid-range type... but not sure about that.
I don't suppose I should play a Mech Mage just to be ready for the expansion? :-)
It might not be this exact deck, but I think something where all you have to do is live until turn 10 to almost be guaranteed a win is going to be something to deal with. Look at the initial reaction to Shudderwok and the Ol "Spells" guy for examples :-)
I would be tempted to also add the card where you pull the rest of your deck, but I suspect the odds of your hand being too full before you get this Thun might make it even more of an RNG fest.
I wish Hearthpwn had a "Remind Me" function like on Reddit, because I'd like to see what the take is on this after August 7th. Half of me is tempted to craft Mecha'thun just to try this, and half of me is hoping to go with something more Druid...
Reverse Discard deck might be slightly more accurate. Although if you replace Lord Godfrey with Rin, the First Disciple you can also make this a real good Mill deck :-)
I've personally taken it out since I've had it put the Howlfiend out a couple times when I didn't have the combo ready and suffered. As often as not, pulling the weapon out in a timely manner (turn 5 or six with minimal threat so I can afford not to add a minion) generally means I already have board control and the weapon is more of a "win more" than a win or lose maker.
Also if you're playing against anything where they can rebuild a deck (Deathstalker Rexxar as one example I've run into). Having that second Treachery was REAL useful.
My .02 worth would be if they did something similar to the Hunter mechanic - IOW where you are choosing what to discard. Yes, some of the fun (if you're the opponent) is to watch the one card they need to win go "poof" when they have to deal with a tactical issue early on - but it's yet another RNG trigger. If they wanted to make it stronger and NOT add a graveyard option (which IMHO would cause major issues with other cards), then I think this would be their best bet.

I've faced it a couple times now, and yeah, a Geist seems like a good idea right now.

Probably going to be next week since the Brawl will be the day before.

My .02 on the matter anyway...

Or imagine playing the card where you copy the opponents deck and then play this next turn?

I dropped Lord Godfrey for another Gnomeferatu, and have gone 5 and 1 since. Fun deck. Even if you lose, it's always going to be close.

Dropped the Stormforged Axe for another Acolyte of Pain, and have had pretty good success. Ancestral Spirit has made even a Totem Taunt an effective delaying tactic.

Thanks for the card list. This made an easy "one and done"!
