posted a message on Defile and Warpath are OP as hell
    Quote from scorpyon >>

While it is irritating when you lose to a well timed use of these cards, they are faaaaar from OP. Warpath especially is borderline average at best - as far as mana to AOE damage goes it is worse than most AoE cards out there.

Defile is great but really situational and simply requires you to play wisely and its eqey to play around it most of the time.

Agreed - Warpath is great and was needed to bring Warrior up as a class. It's certainly a flexible card, but it can also be a Flamestrike that costs 1 more and also hurts your side of the board.

I've been playing a list similar to yours. I think having 2x Vanish is the way to go and also opens up a lot of strategic options. The other effect it has on me mentally is making it easier to pull the trigger versus having only 1x and waiting for the perfect moment. I hadn't considered removing a Minstrel, but I could see an argument for that.

I have been experimenting with Sonya Shadowdancer in this deck, but I'm not sold on it. She has the same problem of essentially being a combo card - you don't want to just toss her out unless the situation calls for it.

I am interested in finding a version of a Kingsbane deck that is more balanced and about ramping up slowly, rather than drawing through your deck to find the pieces you need. I feel like Kingsbane could work as a strong piece of your deck rather than the focus, while also giving you a strong late game, if needed. I experimented with a Pirates Kingsbane deck, but didn't have much luck.

I think you are spot on with the Striders. I've had many games where they attack them instead of face - big mistake, but welcomed.

Personally I had this kind of struggles when I was rank 1 and pushing to legend for the first time, but don’t worry buddy I’m sure some one(rank 5) will concede when he see you are on rank 6. When I’m rank 5 and I see rank 6 player I auto concede to help them reach save zone( that’s how I make 6 friends and tons of “thank you” .

    Wish you luck mate :)

I'm going to start doing this.

Now, immediately after season reset, I'm already in the competitive mode and I don't have that relaxed feeling going into each game. This kicks in especially after reaching rank 5, which I do within a few days (I start around 7 typically).

I'm not saying the new system isn't good. It's great. Praying on lower ranks is not a good thing.  It's just a mental thing, but I find that I get over it when I decide that I don't care anymore about ranking up and I'm just playing games on ladder to get to my golden shaman and druid.

I don't enjoy playing the most common decks with high win-rates. With the new system, there isn't as much room for playing below tier 1 decks, experimenting, and still climbing the ladder. I still think the new system is definitely an improvement.

This is why I usually focus on pushing to Rank 5 at the start of a season and then once I reach there, I experiment. Since there isn't really any reward for being higher than rank 5, I just play to have fun after I get there.

personally it is very easy with quests to go infinite in arena. On the changes, lately i feal that there is too extreme decks, or i finish with a 8-12 or with a 2-4 depending on the cards while before  all this changes for the past 3 year i was normally at 5-8 wins consistently with some rare outlyers.

I have experienced this myself. I used to win 5-8 and would rarely get to 12. Now I rarely get in the 5-8 range - it's usually lower or higher than that.

I like Doomsayer in this deck. I feel like it's biggest weakness is a potentially terrible early game. I'm surprised by your inclusion of 2x Shadowstep. You only run 11 minions and I don't see many targets for it.

Ben Brode or another developer said they thought the Valeera Death Knight would have been far more impactful than it has been, so if they were in a mood to buff a card, that could be on the list.

I can see that. Her ability of duplicating cards is certainly a unique mechanic that allows for some creative combos. The 9 cost is high, but I always thought that without any tutoring to guarantee getting her out sooner, it really limited what you could build around her. Compare this to most other DKs where they can have an impact on the game even if they are the last card you draw.

I've seen both Nat Pagle and Arfus played in ranked games between legend and rank 4 this season, so there are people playing them. I can't tell you why those players were playing them, but I have seen them played this month.

I honestly didn't think that either was being played at a high level, but it sounds like I was wrong!

I use Arfus in quest priest, but that's about it sadly. As for Nat, no dice.

Really? I always assumed that he was too under-powered even in a Deathrattle deck.

He's broken with Twilight's Call honestly and the death knights can be very valuable in the late game.

But no, they will probably never buff cards simply because too many cards would still be broken since they wouldn't be nerfed, or the meat would be thrown off balance if they were nerfed.

Thanks! That's an interaction that I hadn't considered. I don't have the Priest Quest.

Dont forget that bad cards can and do actually make other cards balanced, since they dilute the pool of options for discover and random effects. I know it's not the best "use" of them, but they serve a purpose, even if noone rly plays them in a deck ;-) Damn, thinking about it, thats actually a PR gold, i better get paid for this when they use it next time someone asks why there r bad cards in the game lel :P

I do appreciate that aspect. I just think as a design, they should avoid it with Legendaries. I'm not saying that every Legendary needs to be a top-shelf card, but when they are a bad card - like Nat Pagle, I think that's bad design. I appreciate niche cards that seem bad on their face, but can find a home in decks that use them in unique ways. Since Legendaries are already limited to 1 copy per deck, I feel like they are already restricted enough to prevent them being used in that way.

Hearthstone focuses on nerfing cards to create balance, but I would like to see buffs to some cards that don't see play. I think they should concentrate in particular on Legendaries - it sucks to open up a Legendary that you know you will never use.

Does anyone play with Nat Pagle or Arfus?
