PAH posted a message on Max McCall Talks About Combo Decks and Why They Can Be ProblematicPosted in: NewsThey could fix A LOT of these issues. But for some reason, Blizzard ONLY looks at card design...
The problem is not card design (well, not always ... sometimes it is!)
The problem is the reward structure of the game. This game rewards efficiency. It rewards quick wins. It rewards doing everything you can to not actually play the game.
A sideboard that you can use right before the game starts would be helpful. One reason (and one problem) is that not all classes have weapons or secrets, so teching against those things--when your opponent is chosen at random--means that for more than 50% of matches (ignoring meta), you've got a dead card, or more. It's BAD design. A sideboard would allow to change strategies on the fly, at least a little bit. This also prevents people from "chasing the meta"...
Also, there should be more rewards for winning with different decks on the ladder. Maybe a multiplier for every time you win with a new class. Or with a deck that is at least 51% different cards from your last three wins or something. This way, if you want to play Pirate Warrior for 50 straight games, go for it (but, with a sideboard, people can at least strategize against it without crippling their deck if they face anything other than Pirate Warrior)... you aren't penalized, but you will not climb as fast as someone who mixes it up.
The fact is, most players would prefer their opponent concede in the first turn than to actually play the game--because they want their rewards right away. Just look at any Tavern Brawl and you can see that the average player doesn't really want to get crazy and have fun. They netdeck a cheesedeck and EMOTE gg while you concede so they can have gold, gold, gold.
Card design is not the problem. These problems, and others Hearthstone face, are caused because the systems around the cards and gameplay are not ideal. Fix those and you can start fixing the true issues.

user-21163857 posted a message on Are we getting the short end of the stick again ?Posted in: RogueBecause it would not be expensive enough in mana as 4 mana. 5 is better but still stronk.
I'd say it should be 5 mana 2 damages, 3 damages if combo. So without combo it's worse than consecration, and with combo it's better than Excavate Evil. Pretty much what you want from a combo card.
Consecration also deals 2 damage to the enemy hero, which can be worth 1 mana (Holy Smite). Thus a 5 mana 2 damages, 3 damages if combo is STRICTLY worse than Consecration (it does not deal damage to the enemy hero and you need to use another card before) and STRICTLY better than Excavated Evil ONLY if comboed.Anyway, I take it for grand. So the insanity of this card is all about it's cost? Or does it regard the fact that it allows rogues to clear the board (in a board game) without 1) hoping to get on time the 2-3 cards they need, 2) hoping that all the enemy minions have full health, 3) spending 2-3 cards and risking fatigue, 4) loosing a bit of tempo and 5) hurting the deck building possibilities (as you need to put many cards to accomplish a task that other classes accomplish by using a single card)?Don't forget it would not be in a class with access to Equality. That's true. However, to be honest, I don't want rogue to be a class able to clear completely the board no matter what or to get infinite armour or push the opponent for fatigue or ramp, neither I want rogue to become a shaman-like class (where you can mistake 1-2 turns and still have a good chance to win). And I really care about class diversity (combo and stealth being our main features). I just think that is unfair that anyone who plays against rogue can put on the board everything he has without fearing to be (at least slighlty) punished by an AOE.I completely agree, just saying that some of Consecration's power comes from being a complete clear combo with Equality. In rogue, it would not have that. -

robert_fanr posted a message on Call of the NERF! (nerf Call of the Wild)Posted in: Card DiscussionGuys . Please stop this nonsense !
Hunter was nerfed a lot in the past . First it was uth, eaglehorn bow, than sturving buzzard, than flare and so on .
Last time blizzard completely destroyed one of the only 2 viable hunter archetypes and now you want hunter to simply seize to exist ?
If you don't like loosing to call of the wild you just have to rush the midrange hunter which is not difficult to do at all . Warlock and Shaman are your friends .
Or you can just tech in cards like flamestrike, twisting neather etc .

Ability (7) - 1x Forbidden Healing
- 2x Equality
- 2x Blessing of Kings
- 2x Consecration
Weapon (2) Loading Collection Looks nice!If you got Cairne Bloodhoof you can fit [card]N'Zoth, the Corruptor[/card] in this deck.Well, I already think that Sylvanas Windrunner is too slow for the current meta in this deck, and I included her just to slow down the opponent. Sometimes you don't get to turn 10Cool, upvoted. If you think she's slow why not replace her with [card]Harrison Jones[/card] to counter Warrior and Shaman which are the the meta infested weapon wielding opponents? -

SchoonShady posted a message on How can i use my 6500 dust?Posted in: Standard FormatWith regards to listed decks:
N'Zoth Paladin: I wouldn't even worry about this yet if you are a long ways off. This deck you really need most of the core cards in order to play it and survive aggro, and it is really expensive. Not to mention the deck plays very slow... like put you to sleep slow, which is a style a lot of people, especially newer players don't like anyway. I probably wouldn't recommend it.
Miracle Rogue: You only really need 2 legendaries- Van Cleef and Thalnos- to play this deck at it's full potential. Malygos version is worse than the charge combos generally, and Leeroy and Xaril aren't necessary at all (replacing with deckhand/faceless manipulator and Tomb Pillager respectively is 100 percent acceptable.). Granted this deck is really tough to play efficiently though, so beware if you go this route.
Midrange Hunter: I'd say this is a pretty good deck to craft because it is so cheap, and is a little easier to play. It also uses a lot of cards that can be good in a lot of other decks/are core hunter cards, like jugglers, highmane, Sylvannas, etc.
Midrange Shaman: Totem shaman is going to require a bit more specific build in order to get totem synergy, but you can probably make a good regular mid-range shaman now, since you can sub cards without losing much since it doesn't require totem synergy. It will play a tad slower, but it is still a solid deck! Not to mention if you have the cards for middrange shaman, you probably have what you need for aggro shaman, so you can essentially play two deck archetypes.
General advice: I would focus on getting key legendaries that will allow you to play with a variety of decks first. Especially Sylvannas and Rag- those are your go to cards. They can be used in so many different decks (including midrange hunter and n'zoth pally! :) ). Look up a legendary crafting guide either in forums or check out someone like Krip's guide- that will help you decide which are key cards to craft. Once you start getting a lot of key components of decks from packs, then I would look to start crafting key cards for a specific deck that you want to play-That way you don't blow all of your dust on one single deck, with cards that aren't really useful in other playstyles (ex. crafting forbidden healing, which is only good in N'zoth pally right now).

Change Blade Flurry by supporting the guy who create the petition (even though we know its low chances to succeed).

user-20492089 posted a message on Optimal Strategy for a F2P like mePosted in: General DiscussionSave dust for a cheap, effective deck like face hunter or zoo. If you dislike playing aggro, try out a budget control priest or paladin deck from icy veins or trump's f2p videos although I highly recommend playing something faster as you will get gold faster too. After you put it together, take it to ranked to get a feel for how the game plays out(zoo is a particularly good deck for this, as it teaches a lot of useful lessons) and start gaining more gold for other decks and the adventure wings.
I only recommend starting to play arena when you become better at hearthstone, because unless you are getting at least 3-4 wins on average, which is easy enough when you are more experienced, but not so much when you are not. When you manage to get about rank 12-10 on your own you are likely ready to start playing arena seriously. Until then, just keep playing constructed and buying packs and adventure wings with your gold(naxxramas should be your first priority, along with the first BrM wing and the first 2 LoE ones).
Keep in mind though, game play in arena is much different than constructed, and even then it will take you some time to adapt, so watch some drafting/game play guides on youtube and you will become better in no time.
PS: believe me when I tell you that it's 100% possible to become a competitive/semi-competitive(depending on how much free time you have) hearthstone player by not spending a cent.

alpharaon posted a message on Optimal Strategy for a F2P like mePosted in: General DiscussionI've taken a look on your collection and I see no reasonable deck that you could build, what have you been playing these last 8 or 9 months?
I suspect face hunter because it is the only deck i guess you can play considering your collection…
However, if you unlockFlamewaker, you can try this deck that i'm sure will give you a good time: - To post a comment, please login or register a new account.
