Just finished coolest game I've ever had with Ragnaros, with Majordomo as my main buff-engine :D

    My coolest Rag-game so far

posted a message on Darkmoon Prizes are gone

I'm glad that the Prizes are gone, they made the meta so much faster, and seemed like there was always at least two or three guys allready on Tavern 5 by 9 gold turn, usually high-roll heroes like Omu or Elise.

I'm not sure how to feel about Elise-nerf, it's good that they nerfed her, but not sure if reverting it back to how it was before was a good thing, because now she is almost unplayable. If you get a token, she's still okay, but even then she's not nearly as good as some people may think. One thing that made Elise so good at 2 gold hero power, was that her leveling curve was insane. The fact that she didn't need token starter to buy two minions on turn 3 and the ability to power level from that point on. And if you did get a token starter, you could level up again on turn 4 and then again on turn 6. Or just follow the curve until turn 7 (9 gold turn), and then go straight to tavern 5 at turn 8. She was just so much more flexible.

Here would be my suggestion to try and balance Elise: Make it so that the 1st map is 1 gold and then it goes up by one gold every time you level up. Like this:

    Discover a Tavern 2  minion = 1 gold
    Discover a Tavern 3 minion = 2 gold
    Discover a Tavern 4 minion = 3 gold
    Discover a Tavern 5 minion = 4 gold
    Discover a Tavern 6 minion = 5 gold

That way she would have significant early-game advantage, where she could possibly power-level in the early turns, but she wouldn't have that same smooth leveling curve on the higher tavern tiers anymore. Here's some theorycrafting about how she could be played if her hero power was as presented above:

    Play strategy with token-start:
    Turn 1 (3 gold) = buy token
    turn 2 (4 gold) = level up
turn 3 (5 gold) = sell token, level up
turn 4 (6 gold) = discover 2- and 3-drop, buy one from shop.
    turn 5 (7 gold) = buy minions
    turn 6 (8 gold) = level up, discover 4-drop.
    turn 7 (9 gold) = buy minions
turn 8 (10 gold) = level up, sell one, discover 5-drop, hope for high-roll from that point on.

     Play strategy without token-start:
    turn 1 (3 gold) = buy non-token
    turn 2 (4 gold) = level up
    turn 3 (5 gold) = buy one minion and discover a 2-drop.
    turn 4 (6 gold) =
if bad minions offered: level up, sell one, discover a 3-drop
if good minions offered: buy two.
    turn 5 (7 gold) =
               if leveled: buy two
if didn't level: level, discover 3-drop, roll
turn 6 (8 gold) = buy minions (or possibly level, sell one and discover a 4-drop if you leveled on turn 4)
turn 7 (9 gold) = level, discover 4-drop (or buy minions if allready leveled).
turn 8 (10 gold) = level up, sell one, discover 4-drop.
    turn 9 = buy minions
turn 10 = probably level up, discover 5-drop.

Or you could just YOLO it and try the Token Strategy without the token too, hoping to high-roll good-enough minions to compansate for the loss of one minion.

posted a message on Getting a ghost while it's 1v1?

Has this happened to anyone else before?

What I guess happened, is that my last opponent just conceded few seconds before the fight ended, because he thought he would be dead, and because he actually would have survived, the game had allready matched me with the ghost.

I had a Golden Boat as my last surviving unit with 6 health left, and he had just summoned 6 microbots, so he proably thought the 6 pirates would be enough to deal him 26 damage (if someone wants to do the math for how likely it is to deal 26 damage with 6 random pirates, be my guess, would be interesting to know). Well as it happens, my boat summoned mostly 1 or 2-drop garbage and he would have survived with 4 health left.

    Full creed mode activated:

Ended up losing two rounds in a row with 56.3% and 73.8% changes to win, but not even salty, because the last one was partly my own fault for leaving that 20% change for losing. I didn't notice the 3rd player had died to the ghost and thought the game would go on for at least two turns, so I creeded some more and only sold one Nomi. I think it would have been close to 100% if I sold all the Nomis for the last round.

Had to share this, probably the most awesome Pirate Build I ever had, it might not be the strongest build, but it definitely was fun. Ended up with 6 cards generated by Nat Pagle :D The end results of final battle as an attachement.

posted a message on Battlegrounds mmr issue

I find it annoying, that the system starts limiting your MMR-gain when you approach the MMR you had before the reset. That's not even really MMR RESET. I mean, if you had grinded to over 10k before the reset, it's easier for you to get back there.

I have to agree with uiasdnmb, the climbing process back to your orginal ranking was ridiccilously easy and then you just hit stone-wall at certain point. It kinda eats you up, when for the first 2 or 3 days you are climbing at the same pace than your favourite streamers , and then you hit your gap at 6k and start gaining +100 for win, but you can see that the streamers are still gaining +300 for win at 9k rating, just because they were orginally over 10k rating. Here's an example, RDU got +300 for 2nd place while at 9062:

When I hit 6k mark, I started gaining only +100 for each win, and a little bit after I had a good streak where I went 1st, 1st, 5th, 1st, 1st, 1st and that got me freaking +500, doesn't really feel fair when you see others still gaining +300 for 2nd at 9000. Don't get me wrong, it's not the streamers fault, I'm not accusing RDU or anything, it's just that the system doesn't really give a fair chance to climb, unless you were allready High Level, making the MMR-reset in itself completely unrelevant. Right now I'm sitting at 7.5k, and I've kinda lost my motivation to even try to climb, because it just takes too much time.

TLDR; the system doesn't really give a fair chance to climb, unless you were allready High Level, making the MMR-reset in itself completely unrelevant.

People need Hysteria's vid to figure it out?

As someone who does not play BGs, what exactly is going on here?

Just a new strategy to play Elementals as Aranna, staying in Tavern 2 and trying to get both of the Tavern 2 Elementals and just let them buff each other. Not really that good of a strategy, as everyone else is picking up those Elementals too.

Thought this build was pretty dope, not my biggest Pogos, but a little bit of a different take on end-game Jandice, instead of regular Amalgadon-shenanigans, and definately more fun! Too bad the game ended too quickly, so I didn't get to properly scale up, lol.

Pogos and dragons together are pretty dope :D

posted a message on TRIPLE TRIPLE GOLDRINN & Triple Baron Build!!!

Haha that's an epic board! Now with the new patch and the Parrot, this can be even taken to the next level, I just had two games today, where I got Golden Goldrinn, and then multiple Parrots with Baron Rivendare, and the build just snowballs after a couple of attacks. Starting to get a feeling, that the Parrot might even be a little broken, although this build can be countered by Divine Shield-murlocs.

In the first game, I got 3 Golden Parrots and a Golden Goldrinn + regular Baron Rivendare.

In the second one, I was orginally playing Pirate Comp as the Captain Eudora, with Goldgrubber as my main Carry, but in the semi-late-game I got an Golden Rivendare from the digging Hero Power, so I then transitioned to Parrot Beast-comp over the next three rounds, just looking for the right beasts, and it paid off. Goldgrubber also got pretty big 🤣
