You need to spend at least 7 mana to trigger the deathrattle, while Cairne costs 1 less and always triggers. That 1 less attack loss means nothing under these conditions.
If there were more usable spells then maybe now it's not worth it.
edit: You might even try adding Questing Adventurer to the deck, instead of 1 Acolyte of Pain. As the card draw you already have is huge. You'll often find yourself with a full hand of cards. Just a Power Word: Shield alone makes it a 3/5 with huge possibilities.
So based on a couple of games with your deck, I have amended it a little. I'll report the results later on.

Silence Priest Deck
by Mot1ons - Apr 17, 2018
I did try Stormwind Knight early on, but I realized the #1 priority is sticking a board, and trying to hold combo pieces for later interferes with that. Basically Stormwind Knight only adds value if you lost your board presence, but if you lost your board you probably didn't draw much either, so you're unlikely to have assembled the combo. Also, by the time you can pull it off, your opponent often has a Taunt minion, so you need to have a Silence as well. For that reason, Acolyte of Pain worked better, because it comes down a turn earlier and gives you more consistency. If you're already drawing well, then you don't need to play it and you're probably going to win the game anyway. I do think Acolyte of Pain is the most cuttable card in the deck though, so if you're looking to add different cards and see how they work, that seems like the best bet. Questing Adventurer is an interesting idea that I hadn't considered. My guess is that it also works as a win-more card as it works best if you've already drawn tons of cards, but I'm curious to hear how it goes. As for switching Spirit Lash and Silence out for Shadow Word: Death and Shadow Word: Pain I think that depends on the meta you're facing. Spirit Lash absolutely crushes odd pally and odd hunter which were very popular decks in my climb, so I value it highly, but if you don't find you're playing such decks, then I can see cutting it, though it does have the added benefit of helping you draw a bunch of cards in combo with Circle of Healing or Divine Hymn. Silence is fantastic against Cubelock and generally for pushing through a Taunt for lethal. In some matchups though I just use it as a 0-mana Spell to trigger Lyra the Sunshard or Dragon Soul, which is obviously not a super powerful play.
Your answers are spot on. I only tested a couple of games in casual mode, while you are playing the high ranks. That's a whole different story. I will still test some games with the changes I mentioned but will eventually also go back to your original deck to try ranking up.
I play heartsthone since the start and always mained Priest. Priest never was really good until the recent expacs. However, It never bothered me that much. With this expac however I feel there is nothing good for Priest, so I don't know how much longer I will continue to play.
Which is sad. Cause I really like the game as a whole...
As much as I want Priest to succeed, This deck ain't gonna do it. There are simply too many fillers. Like Faerie Dragon. Just because we lack decent dragons in Standard now.

Played 9 games. All versus Shaman. Bye Hearhstone. I won't return until the nerf has been done.

Just another filler.

Archmage Arugal + Book of Specters for insane value when you're low in cards in hand.
Edit: As these are both even cost cards, you might even think about making an even cost deck with Genn Greymane

Lady in White loves this card!
