Quote from KingCarnage >>I'm the OP, here's my comment:
I thought the original portrait was overly sexualized, so I am in favor of the change. Suggestiveness is classier than semi-nudity. I don't play WoW, but I have read that the Jaina character was known for her wisdom, courage, and history of struggles, and her looks were secondary.
Full disclosure: I'm a gay man, and cleavage doesn't do that much for me. Another personal bias is that I think both men and women should dress modestly in public, like buttoned-to-the-top modest. (Edit, yes my avatar is Lucy Heartfilia, and yes I hate how she is dressed in the anime/manga even though I like her.)
Of course, there is a lot of idealization in fantasy art, for both men and women. As many have pointed out, several of the male portraits have pictures hyper-muscular half-naked fantasy humanoid men.
Blizzard should directly address the censorship of the portrait. I would like to know the reasoning. Had they received complaints? Did they foresee a future problem? Are they going to be stricter about sexiness in future art releases?
That's dumb. She's a mage who isnt afraid of the cold. More seriously, all the characters should look just like they do in WoW. It's too many layers. Looks bad.
In the real world no one cares about your "modesty". People dress exactly how they want and are comfortable. Your opinion on what anyone wears in public is just about as important as other's opinion on what you do in private.
*micdrop*
Hah. It is not true that people get to dress exactly as they want. Maybe in the Scandinavian utopia you inhabit clothing is optional, but not where I come from. There are plenty of places where "comfortable dress" won't get you in door.
Public decency is a big issue in a lot of places. It seems a lot of the discussion of modesty (in the United States at least) devolves into young men getting mad that someone is denying them their view of breasts and young women getting mad that someone is denying them the opportunity to show their breasts.
Personally I'm convinced that cleavage is a sexual display, and should be considered as such. Plunging necklines in women's fashion not present in men's fashion are basic evidence of this. Your society decides how much sexual display it can handle, and then you go from there. There are a lot of societies in which Jaina would get arrested for wearing that outfit. I like RavenSunHP's idea that the alteration was due to a business decision in order to appeal to the biggest market possible. I'm interested in hearing Blizzard's reasoning, but I guess that not saying anything is their wisest move.
This is so funny, comming from someone who admitted being gay... In the past (not so long ago), being gay was a crime in most countries, did you know that? Because it seems that you live inside of a bubble. Now you support shamelessly this change, as you said in your previous post, and you seem to be ok with Blizzard decision to appeal to the biggest market possible, even in places were woman are being arrested for wearing outfits similar to Jaina's one. Admitting it is not Blizzard's wisest move, doesn't change that fact.
How the hell that makes any sense? How dare you to support something like this, when it goes against everything those of your kind have fought in the past, so you can live a normal life in the present? Don't you have any respect for those who fought for your rights years ago? I guess the answer is no...

Imagine queuing for 8 hours because you banned all your counters and everyone you counter banned your class.

The heck is this thread?

Re: this, I also think the matchup is very Mage favoured but they have to understand their win condition. If they get a skulking Geist off they stand to thin your deck by up to 4 cards. Further to that they can Polymorph your Direhorn Hatchlings and suddenly your primary game plan against control (outlast in fatigue) is serverely hindered. I think the matchup feels much closer than it is because the game still goes on forever and the board swings evenly throughout so you don’t feel like either player really has an edge but make no mistake, Mage wins this 7 times out of 10 if they understand how to play the matchup. Just because they don’t dominate you throughout the game or kill you in a few turns doesn’t mean the game is close by any means.

Personally no but I don't think he is bad by any means. He gives you the option to include Town Crier, which can also pick up Zilliax, but I feel that he increases your percentages in the matchups that you already win spectacularly, which seems a waste of deck space. I prefer dedicating his and Town Crier's slots to cards that are more useful in the Deathrattle Hunter matchup, which is your hardest legitimately winnable matchup. Supercolliders and Mind Control Techs for example.

A friend of mine played this garbage on ladder at rank 10 and queued into some hapless guy playing Zoo who was rank 11 (presumably on his 5* match). My mate prepped Espionage on turn 1 (??) and had a 1 mana Bloodreaver Gul'Dan on 2. Turns out 2 mana kill a minion and gain 3 life from turn 3 onwards is quite powerful against a board based deck.

You crush every aggro deck unless you draw dead and they have a nutty hand. You generally beat Malygos Druid unless they ramp into a lot of pressure before you can really get going, you simply gain so much life they can never burst you down and the same goes for Mind Blast Control Priest.
You have a few auto-loss matchups (notably anything running Togwaggle or Mecha'thun, as well as Shudderwock and Quest Rogue).
The interesting ones are control mirrors and non-OTK combo builds (like Deathrattle Hunter/Rogue). Deathrattle Hunter is the most skill intensive matchup for Odd Warrior. You are not favoured for sure but its nowhere near as bad as you might think - Boom's passive and Omega Assembly are often enough to out-tempo and out-resource Deathstalker Rexxar just long enough to kill them in fatigue - the real tough part of this matchup is surviving the early onslaught of sticky boards of 5/5s. You are basically always playing a fatigue game in control mirrors (and therefore you never use Shield Blocks or Town Criers, if you run them, in these matchups).
Control Mage is favoured against you but can be beaten. If you are struggling with Jaina the key is to understand when to use removals and when to save them (a single 3/6 smacking you in the face each turn is actually dealing -1 damage so you can ignore it temporarily). Geist is a big issue in this matchup so generally I'd try to play any Shield Slams and Omega Assemblies you draw before 6, or be greedy and hold Assembly til 10 if you suspect they are not holding Geist or are (somehow) able to pressure them enough that they can't play it. Also try and use your Ironbeak Owls before Jaina comes down as the 1hp can become a liability against her. It is a hard matchup for sure but not unwinnable.
Control Warlock can be easy or hard based on whether they are playing Rin or get her off of a Stonehill Defender. You need Ironbeak Owls ready for her but if she ever goes off you don't need to concede instantly because there are still outs to play to. If you run Azalina (personally I don't anymore due to the low number of matchups in which she is useful) you can copy their Azari and take the game to fatigue, where if they haven't drawn Gul'Dan, you are heavily favoured. Alternatively there's the possibility of Omega Assembly/Delivery Drone into Mecha'Thun and you can try to cheese a win that way. Additionally if Rin comes fairly late, there's always the option of holding Direhorns and Elise until after Azari to buy yourself a few more turns without fatigue. If they don't play Rin or you successfully Silence her the game is a cakewalk. The pressure on you is so low that you will take them into fatigue and run them out of stuff very easily.
The mirror match is all about the dance of Direhorns and Silences, as well as Stonehill and Boom RNG. You want to get Boom online fairly early on and your playstyle will be dictated heavily by the hero powers you are given. If you get a lot of Delivery Drone and Micro Squad you want to play for board and value in the hope that when it comes down to endgame you are able to stick a couple of minions to add to their fatigue clock. Alternatively if you get more Blast Shield and Zap Cannon (compliments either strategy actually) you want to go with pure fatigue and just try keeping the board clear while healing and damaging face as much as possible. Typically if you get decent Stonehill RNG or are able to get your Direhorns off while silencing theirs, you will have an easy game.

I got combo'd by a Maly Druid yesterday while playing as Baku Warrior and was left on 56.

Zilliax is better. Azalina is tech for uncommon matchups that you usually lose irrespective of her.

Absolutely. Myra's is a great addition to Odd Rogue. The deck can do a lot of damage very quickly but runs out of steam fast if you take that approach against control decks. Myra's gives you a second wind (drawing 7-10 cards in the late game can give you a very good chance to find Leeroy/Cold Blood or other lethal combos) that can often end games instantly when you would have otherwise been ground out. Its also not even bad in the aggro mirror, drawing it early on allows you to completely dictate the pace of play by throwing all your resources onto the board and trading everything off 1 for 1, and then draw a full new hand while your opponent is sitting there top decking a single minion each turn.

Roping isn’t an offence, though. If people want to use the full 75 seconds of their turn, no matter what their motives are, they are within their rights to do so. Why is this considered remotely problematic? It’s just part of the game. If your opponent wishes to spend a minute and a quarter debating how they think the next few turns will unfold, or use their time as a resource to deliberately irritate you, that’s their call I’m afraid.
