I'm looking for a kind soul to help me complete my Celebrate the Players quests - I don't have many friends left who play hearthstone, so I'd be very, very thankful if anyone would take their time to help me!
I dont like dusting legendaries at all, but neither Millhouse nor Tinkmaster see play in competitive decks. Never used Bolvar, Arfus and Liam in serious decks, too... so these five would be my bet.
Tinkmaster was the secret tech against Druids and Warlocks to a lesser extend during the Witchwood. Any control deck that can fit it in by the numbers sees the winrate improve slightly. Not great but useful.
It's true, Tinkmaster was actually a decent tech option, it just feels awkward to fill in a slot where - atleast in my opinion - you can put alot stronger cards nowadays. Demonic Projects is a tech card that currently makes sense with Mecha'thun and Togwaggle decks, but Tinkmaster seems to have little to no effect as alot of the combo threats needs to be disrupted while in the opposing players hand rather than when it hits the board!
I am quite aware that there are already alot of threads on the topic, but I need some second opinions as well. I do have a pretty big collection but didn't manage to pull as many of the legendaries I wanted as I had hoped for. On the contrary I also have a lot of legendaries that I think won't ever see play and that I'm concidering dusting - and for this I'd like some second opinions.
I am aware that dusting legendaries from a set you're still opening packs from is unwise, so I might leave those be for now. However, do you guys reckon that the rest are "safe" to dust?
Furthermore, I need crafting advice for my next legendaries. These are all legendaries that would improve decklists for which I have pretty much all other cards needed. I am currently missing and would like to craft the following:
Deathstalker Rexxar (seems playable in every hunter deck, but is he a staple in recruit hunter?)
I'm sitting on 4705 dust and as mentioned, I have all the other cards needed for decks where the mentioned cards that I want to craft would only make them stronger.
The Solarium is definitely the only must have legendary as of now - however I think MUE has crazy potential and is just waiting for the right deck, just as both of the Mage legendaries actually starts to look more and more promising. Ziliax is great and flexible as well, and the Paladin spells is hard to deal with for a lot of decks!
Rin, the First Disciple is... "OK" in most match ups with this deck/similar. I can't say it's the most reliable game changer because of all the silences people are running. As for Lord Godfrey, he's legit. I've used him more times than I can count and he prevents you from having to use Twisting Nether for weaker board states. Zola the Gorgon can add a bit of value to Godfrey or other battle cry's to sustain the match longer. I wouldn't say she's dire need.
To me, Rin is the real MVP in every control match up. It gives you the edge and puts your opponent under a constant pressure. Even tho you're completely right about the amount of silences, it often leaves your Voidlords and Lackeys alone if your opponent decides to silence Rin which can easily turn out to be the gamewinner on its own. Also, the chance of getting a second copy of her through Stonehill Defender is quite high, so even if your opponent silences Rin you have a decent chance to get her again.
All this being said, Rin is only really needed in control matchups, but I've used her quite a few times to win games over Cubelocks as well!
To me, Gnomeferatu seems pretty redundant. Against aggro it's usually just a 2/3 body; occasionally you get lucky and burn CtA, Malfurion DK or something very vital to the deck, but I don't really feel like they are vital for the deck. If you're playing against control, you've got Rin to burn the opponents deck eventually. My list looks very similar to yours, but instead runs copies of these cards:
- 1 Spellbreaker
- 2 Gnomeferatu
- 1 Siphon Soul
- 1 Zola the Gorgon
+ 1 Echo of Weakness
+ 1 Mossy Horror (the combo with Echo of Weakness is pretty neat!!)
+ 1 Baleful Banker
+ 2 Rotten Applebaum
I'm currently 11-0 with this version, climbed from rank 10 to rank 6 in little over an hour!
I dunno why people were so optimistic about this Ratcatcher. Void Terror didn't see any play in warlock for ages, so why would this card? Certainly you wouldn't play it just for Rush cause it's not what warlock needs.
P.S. I suppose Void Terror is a demon thus it screws the whole deck badly.
I guess Void Terror interferes with both Gul'dan, Lackeys and Skull of Manari which makes it quite terrible. But I see your point.
That's the question! I toyed around with a version of Cubelock that ran Sanguine Reavers for a while. It seemed like you consistently drew possibilities to pop cubes and Lackeys which I SOMETIMES (not often) find my self in need of. However, Ratcatcher being 3 mana isn't as "effective" as a one mana card, obviously, I just feel like Ratcatcher's effect is super fucking good in order to generate board pressure and an immediate response to the board.
So... Ratcatcher was one of the cards that I was most exiceted to try out. I figured he'd be staple in every cubelock as he a) popped cubes and b) created a body that could actually deal with whatever board the opponent would have. But... so far I've seen him used in little to no Cubelock decks! How come? Is Voodoo Doll a better option because it's more flexible? What's your thoughts on the card and if not in Cubelock, what decks could you see him fit into?

Oh wow. This was super funny.
.. oh wait, it wasn't.

Mossy Horror is fucking amazing in this meta, especially in a control Warlock deck.
