Hearthstone is now ~ 2 years old, but there aren't any achievements in it yet. My question is: why not? This would be a great way to motivate players over a long periode of time, especially now with the upcoming formats. So I thought about possible some achievements ... but there was a problem: where should they be placed Ingame? After a few hours, I created some graphics to explain my result.
Okay, let's get started. First of all I placed the Achievement button next to the Collection, directly on the right side. By clicking on it a new layer opens:

On the left side, you can see, that there are 3 categories: Collection, Account and Conditions. The first one contains Achievements based on generell all Hearthstone cards. Summoning a minion, activate a spell for the first time, collection a special amount of a cardgroup etc. Here's an example:
The thing is, that you don't have to own this minion for this achievement, you also just can play it in Arena/Brawl. After reaching, this achievement get's a 'tick' and coloration.
But that wasn't all! When you have this achievement, you can work on the next one:
Simple, isn't it?

The next categorie is Account. Here are all achievements, which depends on the own progress like completing an adventure or reaching a rank in a season.
The last categorie are the Conditions, as shown in the graphic. These achievements needs special Ingame situation like winning a match with a complete-murloc deck, killing your opponent with e.g. the Leper Gnome-Deathrattle, summoning Thaddius and many different more (there are like endless ideas, but I just made three as an example in the graphic).
Normally, you can only reach the achievements in Play mode, Arena, Brawl or sometimes also while fighting adventures, but some achievements shows the following icon:
This means, that you can solve them also in a match against friends (because they may not be solvable in normal matches). The reason of this is, that achievements should be a longtime-motivation.

Okay, that was my "short" explaination for the achievements. What do you guys think? Do you want this in Hearthstone or not? And what are your ideas for achievements (also different ones!)? Let's start a collection for Blizzard! :)

The amount of money you spend t maintain the same experience, they basically modeled it like gasoline. You have to keep pumping money or time into it with each expansion and the game experience never really changes. Having played since beta I've come to realize the only reason I still occasionally play is because I feel like between the time/$ I've invested into the game it would be a waste to walk away. It's almost just like a bad relationship. I don't recall the last time I actually had fun playing. This isn't salt, it's just facts. Consumer feedback to the maker. If your playing a card game and you already know every card in your opponent's deck when you queue up nearly every game, that's a problem.
They simply don't do enough to address the various consumers, which makes it unsustainable. The F2P model they've adopted requires the minority of their players to fuel the majority of their game based revenue. I doubt there's many people from beta anymore still spending money because they've already realized the ridiculous cycle/scam. This means they have to get new players to fill that minority who actually generate revenue and you can only do that for so long. This is a problem of the mobile gaming industry in general and micro transactions, which is really what packs are. If you consider the value that you get per $ to anything else you buy in your life, it's pretty insane. Granted I'm an older player so my perspective may be different, but it shouldn't cost $100 to get a portion of an expansion for players who don't have the time to grind but still want to experience the game.

Tournament style games are good, as MTG and many other card games have shown, but these stakes are HIGH above anything the other games have done and when you lose in this you lose a whole lot harder too. So you have to be really lucky. You might say "Just don't play it if you aren't good" but someone is going to get under 6 wins and by someone, I mean like... the majority of people. So now you have a bunch of these people that are really salty, including these people that get 1 win, and basically payed 10 bucks for a pack. Then there's going to be the people that get 11 wins. How is that bad, you might ask? Well.. Here's the difference of 11 and 12 wins.
11 wins: 16 packs, 480 dust, 480 gold and 2 golden legendaries
12 wins: 50 packs, 1100 dust, 1100 gold and 3 golden legendaries
So in one game of a difference, you get 34 packs, 620 dust, 620 gold and a golden legendary. That's like... a lot of money. I'm not sure how much difference that is in the US, but in Canada that's like 70 or 80 bucks.
So 70 or 80 bucks decided by 1 game. Remind you of something? Yes, gambling. Are

Edit: to expand on the thought, it's giving up around 4 stat points from a vanilla minion to gain the effect. In other words it needs to attack and kill at least one minion to get up to par. And it has to be the one attacking, so it can't be abused with taunt-givers or anything to eat swarms of small minions.
As people said, it's Gruul 2.0 except, unless I'm missing something, it's worse because it gives up more stat points for its effect and does not reliably gain +2/+2 every turn.
