Meta isn't good for CW, secretdin is too much. I'm trying every build and tech I can think of and staying competitive with the rest of the matchups, it just doesn't work.
I think running no acolytes, no slams and only one shieldblock is not enough card draw.
Oh yeah no doubt. That's why I highlighted I'm testing this out, I hit legend with it however I think it is an extremely bad list. (Targeting a specific counter-matchup doesn't really help.)
Just trying stuff out. I really found myself not needing card draw with so many druids and secredins (My hearthstats showed these 2 classes made up 72% of my games)
@Doc - I still run belchers. Also with a lot of testing and maybe it's just me but acolyte isn't needed in CW.
Sorry to bother you again. Here is what I am finding, please tell me where my logic is flawed:
If I do not run acolytes, I find that there isn't enough card draw in the deck (because in that case it only has the 1 copy of shield block and nothing else at all for draw engine). To make up for this, I add 2 copies of Slam (similar to what @Nuba has done with his list). But then it doesn't make sense to have 2 slam AND 2 cruel taskmaster, as they both serve roughly similar functions and from my understanding are traditionally viewed as one or the other in the deck. So I take the cruel taskmasters out. And now I have a deck with reasonable card draw, but neither acolyte nor taskmaster, which is suddenly weak in the early game against aggro/secret paladin. (Acolyte on turn 3 can actually be very good against secret paladin -- can pop a divine shield with it and end up drawing 2 cards in most cases.)
So basically I am going around and around in circles regarding how to fill these last few slots in the deck...
If you are having troubles perceived to be draw related it is very likely you are using your removal too early or making plays that are not favorable/efficient to you value wise. I would try to be less reliant on draw/amount of cards you use and try being more efficient with the cards you have.
It is possible that you also may not be doing the mulligan phase correctly (a lot of people actually struggle in this phase) and they don't set themselves up for the early game properly. Even without the deathlords/senjins/accolytes/cruel tasks you can still do fine in the early game. It is all about value.
Pretty much this. CW is very easy to play, but to play extremely well it has a high skillcap. It takes a while to properly learn.
Doesn't the new Mendi list ruin your matchup against Demon Handlock and/or Druid?
And can someone provide me some tips against the (demon)handlock matchup? I'ts the matchup I struggle against the most against so far.
VS druid it helps more than hurts.
Handlock/Demonlock is already insanely hard, but it can pull 4/1 twilight drakes and jarax out (Which usually instantly wins you the game if they have no jax.)
@Jel I will keep an execute in my hand if VS druid/warrior while running deathlords. Also as Mind said, I've had warriors in legend execute it and I just /fp. Against those specific matchups, you can taskmaster it for a 4/7 taunt
Sorry for formatting, as stated multiple times in the thread pmuch all my posts are from my phone and it's really laggy on this site.
@Doc - I still run belchers. Also with a lot of testing and maybe it's just me but acolyte isn't needed in CW. Also I'm only testing sen'jins, shredder will still most likely be better.
deathlord synergies with brawl as in:
If your opponent is overextended, or maybe just under where brawl is bad deathlord eats 8 damage and/or eats much needed removal brining out something random. Could be a dr boom with no battle cry, or something like zombie chow. Regardless it brings out a minion and can add value to a brawl that would have been bad otherwise. Also it helps in the mirror matchup, can kill certain decks.
You also have to play smart with it, if your against a CW with no/little removal in hand, probably not the best idea to play it then.
@Nuba I'll give it a shot!
Also hit #152 legend today, no secretdin queues and using the Sen'jin build.
Fun fact: If you hate secret paladin play giant echo Mage, free wins all day.
I don't know if it's okay tho but Deathlords are useful. Maybe @Mendi can give his opinion on this.
BGH is bad to run in a deck with this much removal. Unless you're running cruel-taskmaster. (I run 1 copy)
I'm r1 2 stars ATM with x2 deathlords x2 TazDingos, but it's still random. I hate it and like it at the same time, I feel like I'm changing too much core just to deal with Secretdin and it's hurting other matchups.
Tbh I'd say CW isn't the greatest to ladder 5+ with. On another note, DAT GOLD DECK WTF
-----------------------------------
Fatigue warrior might be better in the current meta btw. And by might I mean 90% chance. I haven't played it tho XD
Deathlord doesn't seem like a good card to have in the deck. Personal opinion tho.
It's OK-ish. I'm debating the choice heavily ATM, although I'm trying out a lot of stuff. no acolytes 2 shredders/tazdingos.
It just synergizes well with brawl and can auto-win some matchups (Such as pulling frothing from a paton deck)
I'm still trying to adjust it but everything feels so shit to me, I want to remove belchers for lower-drops but it's hard to get value and kills your matchup. But when ~68% of my games are VS Secretdin, bleh.
Sry i have to say this, but this deck is not playable in the current meta. Against secret Paladin you can autoconcede. And against every other aggro deck you have a chance under 50%. And yes, I now how to play CW. But this deck does not work on EU server!
I'd agree actually, with how the meta is now. I'm using deathlords now to help the matchup.
Man whAt do u think about gorewhol for geddon? ? Imo i test it in a big tournament And of course it was Amazing vs Priest dudu And mirror, even vs patron cuz is better anyway than geddon which is a several patron's activator
Hey I don't have baron, I see you wrote to replace it with rag and keep the double brawl which I planned on doing. But would maybe a sen'jin or black knight instead of the rag be a good choice? I'd like to hear your opinion on it otherwise I'll just stick with rag.
That'd be fine. Sen'jin. Also you can replace x2 cruel taskmasters with x2 shredders to improve the paladin matchup slightly.
Sorry, I've been quite busy lately and haven't even played HS in a week or 2.
To answer the general of what I've read:
*Also I like quirky additions to decks so it might be bad but looks good & fun X)
Gorehowl - I think it's okay to have, could even replace a brawl for it. You'd probably get use out of it if you're already in legend, but quing into a lot of secretdins? Probably a bad idea.
@M4ximal - Druid is notoriously hard for warrior. Like, don't expect to win most the time. Best odds are keeping an execute and ANY weapon you get. Basically, you win if they have a semi-bad hand.
It's hard to say because every druid plays the same. The only difference in decision making they make is "Should I play shredder or savage here?" or something really simple like that.
I don't have Dr.Boom, Alex, Gromash, Baron, Rag I can craft one or two of them and need to replace the others. Anyone got Suggestions which to craft and which to replace? I want to improve my CW in general not just exactly this list.
Thanks for any help!
(i don't have dr.balanced yet because i tend to ladder priest :) )
Yikes! Well I would advise you, but I'm not o:
I'd rather you make other decks completely because having a half-finished deck is no fun which can lead some people to wanting to buy packs. So I'd rather you look at other fun decks :P. If you realllllly want to know though, lemme know!
I'd say craft Boom and Alex. They are used in the most decks, grom & baron are CW only really.

Bumping this thread as I see a lot of CW help threads on the first page.
I'm running Deathlords in CW again as some secredins aren't running silence ATM and it's the best answer for shielded minibot ATM.
